Refutation of “Jaws Without Teeth” by Ray Comfort

If I could save my readers time and summarize how I rate this book, it would be...

But it's Ray Comfort, none of my readers would think anyone could describe it any other way.

On the back cover of this book, Ray Comfort says,
"Many Christians are intimidated by atheists, whose carefully crafted questions are designed to rip Christianity in pieces and devour the faith. But a close look reveals that the atheist’s arguments are toothless, as harmless as sharks that feed only on plankton. This brief book, in just a few sentences each, will give you concise, common-sense responses to those who embrace the foolishness of atheism and the unscientific and unobservable blind faith of evolution. The more than 200 questions and objections in this publication have been adapted from those asked by actual atheists."
It comes to no surprise to anyone who is familiar with Ray Comfort that he is a chronic liar, and quite the dimwit. This is the guy who thought that he proved the existence of god with a banana. And when he was laughed at for his pathetic ignorance of how the banana evolved through the very natural process he claims is "unobservable" and requires "blind faith," he eventually had to give up using the banana as a argument. So what did he do next? He claimed that God gave man the knowledge to use evolution, the very same process he thinks is all a lie, to form the banana as it is now.

And it gets worse, as well as show the intellectual depths of Ray Comfort. After the banana, Ray Comfort said that God also gave man the knowledge to evolve dogs so "they can perfectly fit into his car" and evolve wild cats "so they are perfectly fit for his wife." That, ladies and gentlemen, is the guy who thinks he can come to the aide of the religious in defending the faith against the facts and calling the arguments "toothless" and "harmless."

For proof Ray Comfort was stupid enough to argue that cats were bred and evolved for thousands of years for Mrs. Comfort is proof God exists, watch this video by KingHeathen.

So, Ray Comfort thinks that the atheist arguments against the God-character of the Bible are "toothless" and "harmless" -- and he only has to smarts to say "dogs evolving is proof of God exists because they perfectly fit into my car." He didn't stop to think for a moment if the rest of us would have enough common sense to realize that cars were deliberately manufactured to have room to carry humans and therefore pets like dogs (go figure because dogs are smaller than humans). Cars were manufactured to fit humans, animals, and luggage, not the other way around. Cars have been around for nearly 130 years, dogs have been around humans for thousands of years.

Now that you have a glimpse of how brilliant of a master arguer Ray Comfort is (sarcasm), I bet you are really looking forward to how miserably Ray Comfort will fail to counter "200 questions and objections... asked by actual atheists." Well, I can tell you that Ray Comfort is as much intellectually bankrupt as ever, though he has gotten a bit more cunning over the years. I say cunning, because rather than getting smarter or more honest, he has tried over the years to make his shit less stinky, but still producing crap nevertheless.

Though this book may have "200 questions and objections... asked by actual atheists", they are taken from posts on his Facebook or blog, and we have no way of knowing if 1) they were actually posted by atheists or someone of a different religion or 2) if Ray Comfort has not modified the posts.

For those who question me on why I accuse Ray Comfort of possibly modifying posts, it's because the lying snake Ray Comfort has proven himself to be one, multiple times in fact.
  • Comfort plagiarized the works of University of Tennessee biology lecturer Dr Stan Guffey.
  • Comfort openly admitted on the second paragraph of the Introduction to his book "Evolution: A Fairy Tale for Grownups" that he would engage in quote-mining throughout the book despite explaining what quote-mining is and why it is dishonest and wrong.
And in my response to this book's Forward, as you will read in a bit, I will post video that proves Ray Comfort also edits clips of video footage to dishonestly make the people he interviews as unethical or ignorant.

Foreword

There are two keys to reaching atheists.

There is only one way Ray Comfort ever reaches them: lie to them.

Lie to them by calling them “agnostics” and lie about what “atheism” means, and then lie that all atheists believe “everything came from nothing.” Lie to them that the scientific fact of evolution is false. Lie to them with twisted logic and faulty presuppositions by comparing apples and oranges like cars and the Earth are “created” things. Lie to them on camera, and then later edit that footage to make them appear like they gave the wrong or no answer.

None of these are tossed out without substantiation, Ray Comfort really has lied about each and every one of these, practically on a daily basis for years. If I had the time and energy, I could write a 6 hour seminar on the lies, tactics, and thought processes of the lying con man that is Ray Comfort.

Word games is Ray Comfort's specialty, and it is quite useful when you don't care about truth and motivated by money. This is why Ray Comfort spews so many books every year with the same material for quick money, and then goes around public with a camera to fool the public and entertain his brainwashed viewers.

Ray Comfort loves to share that he became a Christian in the 1970's, but remember he is from New Zealand. But strangely, ever since 1976, New Zealand saw a dramatic rise in "no religion" amongst it's citizens and a drop of the number of people who professed to be Christians. Since 1976, the percentage of the population who identified as "non-religious" was about 4%, but in 2006 it had risen to 33% and still continues to grow. That's a huge climb, whereas every denomination of Christianity saw a steady decline and continues to drop.

So if Ray Comfort wanted to share his new found love for God, why did he not stay in the country of his birth and try to confront the turning tide? Instead, Ray Comfort traveled across the Pacific to the most religious 1st world country in the world, the United States, where the majority of it's citizens are Christians and there was no noticeable slide in religious beliefs on the way, no apparent rise of atheism, and therefore no reason for a new evangelical preacher to show up. So why did Ray Comfort ignore the desperate need for Christian evangelism in his own country who were turning away from the Bible and embracing a more secular path, and instead move to the U.S. where the majority were staunch firm believers? Because Ray Comfort found the easiest way to make money there is, preach amongst the flock of believers who will hand over their money to anyone with an ounce of charm who told them what they wanted to hear. Faith was never his driving motivation, otherwise he would have spent all his energy evangelizing in his own country, instead the carrot at the end of his stick has always been the money. Ray Comfort doesn't believe every word he preaches, but it doesn't matter to him because he only saws what his religious flock wants to hear, and so long as he keeps doing that, they will fill his pockets with loads of money.

So how much money does Ray Comfort generate? A lot actually.
The first is to have a love that is coupled with patience. Many of these people are so blinded by their own undetectable pride that they don’t even recognize the love that we have for them.

Lying salesmen may have love, but they have no love for those they con, otherwise they would not lie to them.
They shoot their rescuers. They are like drunken know-it-all teenagers, with car keys in hand, bent on destruction.

While Ray Comfort's ilk believe that carpets fly.

Our heart should therefore break for them. While others may write them off as “swine” and withhold pearls of truth, we will plead with them.

They are above all men to be pitied, because an atheist doesn’t die in the confidence of faith.

Being without faith is not to be pitied, just as dying without delusions is not to be pitied.

The best he can have is the weakness of hope. He dies hoping that God and His promise of wrath don’t exist.
Why hope against something that does not evidently exist? Does one die and hope they will not end up in the "cornfield" from the Twilight Zone created by Anthony Flew? The cornfield does not evidently exist, and neither is Anthony Flew for that matter, so why bother hoping it's not real?

Love them, buy gifts for them, take them to lunch, treat them with kindness and respect because they are human beings.
The only time Ray Comfort says something sensible, and it turns out to be purely humanistic.

It is easier to shake our heads with thoughts of saying, “I told you so” on Judgment Day, but the consequences are too great for any of that sort of consolation.
Pretty sure the heads of dead people lack the sentience to move or shake their own heads.

The second key is to make sure that we don’t spend too much time addressing their “carnal” mind with apologetics, because that is where they harbor their hostility towards God’s moral requirements (see Romans 8:7). Give them answers, but always keep in mind that the Bible tells us that they are “enemies of God in their minds” (see Colossians 1:21).

When all is said and done, what Comfort means by the “carnal mind,” he means your intellect. You're ability to think and reason. Not your psychological urges for food or pleasure, your thinking mind. This is why Kirk Cameron, Ray Comfort's partner, famously once instructed his fan viewers to “share your faith effectively and biblically, learn how to circumnavigate the person's intellect.”
So we must make sure we do what Jesus did and address the ally of their conscience, using the moral Law (the Ten Commandments).

Told you so! See what I mean what I just wrote about circumnavigating the intellect? Well here it is: Ray Comfort telling his readers to forget about engaging the mind and the intellect, and targeting the person's conscience and emotions. It's simple, make the person feel guilty and sell them the snake-oil.

To see why this approach is entirely dishonest and shamelessly manipulative, read my blog post on the “Are You a Good Person” tactic constantly used by Ray Comfort.
A. W. Pink said, “Just as the world was not ready for the New Testament before it received the Old, just as the Jews were not prepared for the ministry of Christ until John the Baptist had gone before Him with his clamant call to repentance, so the unsaved are in no condition today for the Gospel till the Law be applied to their hearts, for ‘by the Law is the knowledge of sin.’” (Rom. 3:20) It is a waste of time to sow seed on ground which has never been ploughed or spaded!
Right, this is where one of the main tactics of the snake-oil salesman comes in: make them believe there is something wrong with them when there is nothing wrong, then sell the snake-oil.

To present the vicarious sacrifice of Christ to those whose dominant passion is to take their fill of sin, is to give that which is holy unto the dogs. What the unconverted need to hear about is the character of Him with whom they have to do, His claims upon them, His righteous demands, and the infinite enormity of disregarding Him and going their own way.

You can see the effectiveness of the use of the moral Law on www.GeniusTheMovie.com, and on www.180Movie.com.

What you will see is more Ray Comfort lying to random people on the streets, which I responded to with a critical analysis, and each time I found Ray Comfort lying his ass off in all cases.
For more comprehensive (in depth) answers to difficult questions, see The Evidence Bible, and The Defender’s Guide to Life’s Tough Questions.

I just so happened to do a review of both of these books too, and spoiler alert, they all have lies in them. Please feel free to read them.

On Page 5, Ray Comfort provides definitions for two words, “atheist” and “evolution.” And the typical Ray Comfort gets both wrong.

Atheist: “One who believes that there is no deity.”

(Source: Definition according to Encyclopedia Britannica’s Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary: http://www.merriamwebster.com/dictionary/atheist)

Funny that this definition never mentions about “believing everything came from nothing” and yet Ray Comfort constantly claims that ALL atheists believe this.

Evolution: “Given enough time and enough accumulated changes, natural selection can create entirely new species. It can turn dinosaurs into birds, apes into humans and amphibious mammals into whales.”

(Source: Live Science, “What is Darwin’s Theory of Evolution?” Ker Than, TechNewsDaily Senior Editor, December 7, 2012, http://www.livescience.com/474-controversyevolution-works.html)

Since evolution at every level is -by definition- limited to the variation of allele frequencies inherited over generations of living organisms, it can and does create new species over time. But Ray Comfort never addresses allele frequencies or speciation, he simply denies evolution ever happens.

Quick answers to

complex questions

asked by atheists

These are not "complex" questions, they are amateur questions from anonymous atheist commenters Ray Comfort cut from his blogs and Facebook page and pasted them into this book.

1. “If your God was so great, I would see no reason why He would need to force people to submit to Him in worship.”

Ray's Answer: “We are free to be unthankful for our eyesight, hearing, food, sunlight, and all the pleasures He has lavished onto us. But if we die in our sins, we will get justice. That’s why we need a Savior. When He opens our eyes through the new birth, worship comes as easily as songs do to an early morning songbird.”
According to Christianity, if you "get justice" if you "die in your sins" there is only one sin that gets you punished: unbelief. You can kill and rape and steal and sin all you like, but according to the tenets of Christianity, you can be saved so long as you believe and accept Jesus Christ. That's it.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is not justice. That is like a serial rapist going to court and telling the judge "I love your son, he has made me a new man" and that is all it takes to get off the hook, be released of all charges, and allowed to live in a mansion. All the while, that same judge puts a child in the worst torture chamber ever imagined because the child didn't believe in him or love his son.

But more onto the main question, does God (for the sake of argument) "force" people to submit to him? According to the Bible, he doesn't. What Yahweh does do is threaten people with plagues, famine, destruction, suffering and death if they don't.

Basically, the God-character of the Bible is the guy holding a gun to your head and demanding you to love and obey him. You are free to oblige, but that is not a "loving" situation, that is terrorism and tyranny.

2. “Did the American Native Indians credit their conscience to your Jesus?”

Ray's Answer: Not until they heard the gospel. They knew that there was a Great Spirit who made all things, and the Gospel put a Name to Him.”
So Ray admits that conscience can still work without Christianity. All the Christian missionaries did was "put a Name to Him".... and by that, of course means the Christian missionaries forced the Native Americans to believe in Christ. The Christian missionaries forced them to abandon powwows, have long hair, ritual ceremonies, and pretty much strip them of their culture and heritage.

But for the record, there are tribes out there who did not believe in something higher to make up for their conscience. For example, Pygmy tribes in Africa have no deities.

3. “If I were God, I’d hate to have you people speaking on my behalf.”

Ray's Answer: We do our best, but we are fully aware that “God has chosen the foolishness of preaching to save those who believe” (see 1 Corinthians 1:21). He chose the weak vessels of human beings to take the message of everlasting life to weak and dying human beings.
When Ray says "we do our best" -- he makes a living of trying to lie as best as he can to as many people possible.

And the god-character did not choose the "weak" vessels, he chose the strangest and arguably the worst people. Noah was a old drunk who cursed his children, Lot offered his daughters to a rape mob and them having sex and impregnating his daughters later, Moses was a murderer, well you get the picture.

4. “What happens to those who never get a chance to hear the Gospel and die before they do get a chance?”

Ray's Answer: No one will go to Hell because they haven’t heard of Jesus. They will be condemned for murder, rape, adultery, fornication, lying, stealing, etc. Put your concern for others to hear the gospel aside for the moment. If you die right now you will end up in Hell. Get right with God and become a missionary, if you really care about the lost.”
"They will be condemned for murder, rape, adultery, fornication, lying, stealing, etc"... No they wont.

You can break 612 commandments out of the whole list of 613 commandments. There is only one sin, that not even God has the power to forgive...which is weird because God wrote the rules – but I guess he made a rule himself so he would not break his own rule. And he lives by those rules, even when the circumstances demand exception, because it is considered virtuous to never admit when you are wrong.

Anyway, one unforgivable sin is unbelief. Nowhere does the Bible damn believers for their works – belief can always get them out of that. Nor does the Bible allow that good, kind and charitable saintly souls can go to heaven even if they do not believe.

According to the stories of the New Testament, when Jesus was crucified he was crucified along with two other criminals. Only one of those criminals accepted him as the savior, and that criminal went to Heaven, whereas the other one who didn't accept Jesus went to Hell. The moral of the story, you can be a criminal and go to Heaven. You can "murder, rape, adultery, fornication, lying, steal" but that does not determine whether you go to Heaven or Hell, what really matters is that you believe in Christ. That is the only criteria.

So believers can be as vile as they wish – it doesn't matter. Atheists can be the most moral people ever – it doesn't matter. Morality and accountability does not matter. Gullibility is the only criteria required for redemption.

Now that we know that "believing in Christ" is the sole criteria of getting into Heaven or going to Hell, it logically follows that if you have never heard of Jesus Christ, you therefore cannot believe in Him and therefore cannot be saved. This is the case, which is why Ray Comfort urges his readers to "become a missionary."

And if we continue down that road, it logically follows that every human that existed in history (millions and millions of people) before the supposed time of Jesus Christ means that everyone is in Hell. But we know that Judaism does not believe in a Hell, Hell is an invention of the Christians who says that is where all the wicked non-believers go.

5. “Everyone is born atheist.”

Ray's Answer: No one is “born” an atheist. If you really believe that, then trees and puppies are atheists. They begin life with no belief in God.”
This comes to show the loss of perspective on the subject of atheism with statements as puerile as “trees and puppies are atheists.”

If you had a big family celebration, and asked you to look around and point out which ones were not married, would you need me to specify that I am talking about people and not talking about the furniture or the family cat? Those who cannot approach a discussion with a basic level of intelligence and maturity shouldn't expect to be taken seriously.

The suffix “-ist” in “atheist” is used and understood to denote a personal noun. That said, while there is no point in applying the term atheist to things that lack the cognitive capacity to grasp the ideas involved, it can be useful to understand that none of us start life with belief in any gods. A lack of belief in gods IS the default position. That is not to say that the default position is always preferable, after all the default position is a complete lack of coherent understanding of our universe, but it is a reminder that in the market place of ideas, when you want to move people from their lack of belief to belief, it is up to the believer to provide justification. If a person wants others to believe in god(s), the burden of proof is on the believer and not the non-believer.

6. “Do you wear cotton poly blend?”

Ray's Answer: Polyester blends cause static and sweat. I far prefer the coolness of pure cotton. It makes sense that in the hot Middle East climate, God told the Hebrew people not to mix materials.”
Does it make sense to stone people to death for mixing materials? Ray's God thinks so.

Does it make sense to allow people the freedom to wear clothes made from polyester and/or cotton? Are you a dictator?

7. “Why doesn’t God heal amputees?”

Ray's Answer: Why doesn’t He grow hair on bald heads, make short people tall, replace missing teeth, cut my grass, and find my lost car keys? Why does He put up with people who ask mindless questions? We don’t know. One thing we do know is that He is holy and perfect, and we have to face Him on Judgment Day.”

Wrong on multiple accounts, the biggest is the bold claim of “knowing.” If you know something, then you can show it because knowledge is demonstrable. And yet, Ray Comfort has never shown or demonstrated how he knows anything when it comes to the God he has never proven real. He can barely prove there is a God, and therefore cannot know or show that this being is holy or perfect. He is making a knowledge claim without possessing the appropriate knowledge. In other words, he is pretending to know something he doesn't know.

On a final note, isn't Ray Comfort supposed to show in the book that the "complex questions" that atheists ask are supposed to be "toothless"? And the best Ray Comfort can respond to this question is "I dunno." Comes to show that not only is Ray Comfort a liar when it comes to him discussing things he cannot know, he is also a failure.

8. “Why did God create us sick then command us to be well?”

Ray's Answer: When God made Adam, everything was “very good” (see Genesis 1:31). There was no disease, pain, suffering and death. These miseries came when Adam sinned. God cursed the ground and gave Adam and his offspring the death sentence. The Bible says that we “die in Adam,” but we can be “made alive in Christ” (see 1 Corinthians 15:22). You are free to ignore God’s command to repent and trust in the Savior, but if you do, instead of receiving mercy, you will get justice.”
The fact that humans have a immune system testifies to the fact that disease has always been present, even preceding the arrival of the first humans. Think about it, what would be the point of having an immune system if there was no such thing as "diseases"? It doesn't make any sense. So, the only rational explanation Christians can conclude with is that their God created humans with an immune system in a world that already had diseases, OR this God knew from the moment he decided to create the humans that they would screw up and bring sin and disease into the world. Either way, the god-character is the bad guy. He either created diseases, or he deliberately created the mechanism (the humans) that he knew would bring diseases and suffering into the world.

The truth is there has always been death, suffering and pain, all of which precede humans. We know from the fossil record that animals die, get cancer, eat each other, and go extinct.

9. “Have you given everything away yet?”

Ray's Answer: Nowhere in Scripture are Christians told to give everything away. Rather, we are told the opposite—to take care of our loved ones by providing for them (see 1 Timothy 5:8).”
Before getting to the crux of this, I must point out that 1 Timothy is a forgery (The Blackwell Companion to The New Testament by David E. Aune)

The Book of Acts chapter 5 has a village of people commanded to give away all their riches, and when two (Sapphira and Ananias) refused to cooperate they are killed.

On the final note, I call bullshit! Ray Comfort is commanded to give away everything in Matthew 6:19, Luke 14:33, Matthew 6:24, Matthew 19:21-24, Matthew 19:28-29, Luke 9:23-25, Matt 13: 22, Hebrews 13:5, Phil 2:3, Acts 2:44-45.

10. “So why, oh, why did He create us, then destroy us, then repopulate us through incest if He had foreknowledge of exactly what we were about to do?”

a. He didn’t “destroy us.” We are still here despite the flood of Noah—because God in His kindness saved eight people, and He didn’t repopulate us through incest because “incest” wasn’t a sin or a crime in those days.”

When you have a family of eight engaging in sex and reproducing, that is called incest, regardless if it is crime or not. So yes Ray, your book says God repopulated the world through incest. Twice actually, when you consider that Adam and Eve were the same.

And when discussing the ethics of Christianity, I love this part. When you ask about certain topics, in this case incest, Christians like Ray Comfort says “it wasn't a crime or sin in those days.” Basically they are admitting that God changes what is right and wrong.

But there is a major point to the question: why create us and then destroy us?

It honestly seems that the Bible is a sad malicious comedy of how God's Plans keep failing. This god-character keeps failing and seems to inept to figure out why.

God is "perfect" (so we are told), and yet he creates imperfect beings instead of perfect beings, and he seems surprised when they don't behave perfectly. He creates Adam, and he seems surprised when Adam can't find a suitable partner amongst all the animals, so he then created Eve (wtf, didn't he create all the animals male and female, or where all the animals male and then god said let there be females?). He puts these humans in a garden and sets up rules which he must know that they are going to break... and they do! How can you punish someone for gaining the knowledge of good and evil when they could not have possibly known it was wrong to disobey god? We learn that children have to learn right and wrong (for those who have kids, you know they are little sociopaths that are all "mine, mine, mine." They just don't pop out and know whats right or wrong and how to behave.) And then this god-character punishes not only these two humans but all of their descendants who were not even born yet.

So either this god-character knew that the imperfect humans he created would screw up (which makes it his fault), or he was to inept to foresee with his all-knowing mind that humans would screw up (which again makes it his fault). And then this god-character wipes out humanity with a flood, but spares one man and his family, and this God plans to re-do the human world using an imperfect human to repopulate humans on Earth... and for some reason God does not see it coming that using the same imperfect type of human that was the result of the big screw up, will produce another human world full of screw ups. And that is what happened, go figure. So in essence, God's second plan failed. And from then on, a pattern emerges.

Let me ask the audience, if you make something and you cannot get it to understand you, isn't that your failure? If you create something and it thinks your morally perfect actions are immoral atrocities, that's a failure on your part. If you created a computer game where all the characters you send a message to get it backwards, that's a bug. It's not a feature, it's not a good thing, but bugs can be fixed without wiping out all the characters in the game. And yet God seems incapable of fixing his own imperfect beings without killing them.

11. “About 90% of prison inmates in America are religious. Roughly 75% are Christian. Roughly the same amount of serial killers are Christian.”

Ray's Answer: Christians obey the law and love their enemies—they don’t murder them. Religious hypocrites (pretenders) violate the law and kill people. They will be sorted out and punished on Judgment Day.”

Ray Comfort is as much, actually more, of a pretender than the Christians he criticizes.

All Christians are pretenders to a certain degree to start with, because religious faith in essence is pretending to know something you don't know. The Bible says faith is “believing that which is not seen.” This is, at the end of the day, pretending.

Now as a Christian, Ray Comfort pretends a lot. He pretends to be a Christian, yet he breaks the Commandments he loves every day. He has made a living being a dishonest liar, he works on the weekends, and he loves money and a grand house in Southern California.

12. “My life is great. I’m good without God.”

Ray's Answer: All of us think we have our own definition of “good.” But “good” in God’s Book means moral perfection, in thought, word, and in deed. That will be the standard of judgment on Judgment Day. If you think you have a great life, you will want to keep it.”

While philosophers have long debated what constitutes as "good," let me remind my readers that in Ray Comfort's sacred book, God says keeping slaves is good. By Ray's logic, slavery is moral perfection. And you can keep your slaves forever and can beat them so long as they don't die in a day or two. That is "good" according to God.

Not only is slavery moral perfection, but also killing your own family members if they don't believe in Yahweh (Deuteronomy 13:6-10). That is God's law, the moral perfection that was practiced for thousands of years.

I really should not be able to say more, even though there is a lot to share. But any ethical and reasonable person reading this knows that slavery and killing people who don't believe the same things you do is wrong in every way. We know that that is not "good." And therefore, it logically follows that we know that God's Book is not good.

13. “Are you a meat eater?”

Ray's Answer: When Jesus told the Parable of the Prodigal Son, He didn’t say to “kill the fatted cabbage.” He said to kill the fatted calf. They had a barbeque. The Bible teaches that Christians are free to eat or not eat meat (see Romans 14).”

If you read Acts 15, it is about the apostles telling the Gentiles (non-Jews) from foreign countries on how to become Christians. These Gentiles were commanded to be circumcised and to stop eating the meat from strangled animals and stop making offerings to idols. These were not "moral laws" of the Old Testament, they were the civil and ceremonial laws. The earliest apostles were telling the non-Jews that in order to be Christians, they had to abide by the other laws of the Old Testament. So it logically follows, according to the Bible itself, that the laws of the Old Testament still apply.

14. “Galileo was censured by the church, and he’s far from the only example. When the church would claim dominion over that which rightfully belongs to science, then atheists have every right to be angry at it for preventing human advancement. Would we have ever landed on the moon if the church had kept convincing everyone the Earth was flat?”

Ray's Answer: Galileo wasn’t an atheist. When the Roman Catholic church confined him to house arrest he protested, “I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason, and intellect has intended us to forgo their use.” Also, almost everyone (including scientists) believed that the earth was flat (except theist Christopher Columbus and some others). And don’t forget that the men who landed on the moon read Genesis chapter one from space, and just before the landing they took communion and thanked God for sending a Savior.”
Regardless whether Galileo was an atheist or not is irrelevant to the question, the point is that organized religion opposed new knowledge that contradicted Scripture.

Final note, Ray Comfort lies again. His lying when he says “almost everyone (including scientists) believed that the earth was flat (except theist Christopher Columbus and some others).” Even without my university bachelor's degree in History, I already know that this is a lie and so can anyone else with a decent education of history.

Ray Comfort reinforces the false idea that virtually all Western societies thought the Earth was flat. In fact, the exact opposite is true, that virtually everyone was aware the Earth was not flat. In the Mediterranean region, ancient sailors traveling from ancient Egypt to the islands of Greece would “disappear” over the horizon, but everyone knew they did not fall off the edge of the world, because those sailors would be back a few weeks later. The Greek actually measured the circumference of the Earth (granted he was 15 degrees off, but that wildly impressive).

The only ones pushing the idea that the world was flat were the dogmatic religious whose Scriptures say the Earth was flat. And the same is true today, entire group of people believe the Earth is flat based solely on what the Bible says.

Don't believe me, see for yourself:

15. “The creator of the Internet, a homosexual, and Bill Gates, who gave away billions to help humanity, and the creator of FaceBook, and other atheists...are all going to Hell?”

Ray's Answer: Being rich or inventing something doesn’t mean that you get an automatic pass if you violate criminal law. Anyone who has violated God’s Law (the Ten Commandments) will end up in Hell, irrespective of how rich they are or what they’ve invented. Bill Gates is not an atheist. (1. The Telegraph reported, “It does force us to sit down with the Pakistan government to renew their commitments, see what they’re going to do in security and make changes to protect the women who are doing God’s work and getting out to these children and delivering the vaccine.” (Source: “Bill Gates interview: I have no use for money. This is God’s work.” The Telegraph, 18 Jan 2013, http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/bill-gates/9812672/Bill-Gates-interview-I-have-no-use-for-money.-This-is-Godswork.html)

Bill Gates is speaking of the religious women doing god's work. That does not mean Bill Gates himself believes in their god.

16. “We don’t know how we came here, but let’s study and try to find out and not give a simple answer like ‘God.’”

Ray's Answer: Atheists don’t like God being the answer to that question. That’s like saying, “We don’t know what two plus two adds up to, so let’s not give a simple answer like ‘four.’”
There are logical axioms that explain why 2 plus 2 equals 4. But there are no logical axioms that point to a God, let alone the God of the Bible.

Ray Comfort has argued, even to my face, that God is “axiomatic” but he always fails to substantiate that claim. It always goes back to circular reasoning and presuppositions. He says “buildings are proof there is a builder, creation is proof that there's a creator.” NO, you are presupposing that we live in a creation, you haven't demonstrated that we live in a creation. Every time you bring this up, Ray Comfort gets hot under the collar.

Even during the debate with the Rational Response Squad on Nightline (which on the back cover of this book, Ray Comfort includes in his biography), the RRS pointed this flaw in his so-called “axiomatic” thinking and he and his partner Kirk had literally nothing to say in response to it.

Only in Ray Comfort's imagination can this piece be a jaw without teeth to demolishing his nonsense.

17. “I am single; how is having lustful thoughts adultery?”

Ray's Answer: When someone physically commits adultery they violate the Seventh of the Ten Commandments (even if they are single), and in God’s eyes if we as much as lust, that Commandment is broken. We may have a definition of adultery, but God’s definition is much higher.”
In other words, God's definition of adultery is thought-policing. Looking at a woman in lust is a thought crime. Lust is not a conscious action, and one is to be punished for human nature. In other words, Ray's God is punishing us for doing exactly what our brains were biologically hardwired to do.

"Adultery" in the Bible did not depend on the man's marital status, but the woman's. Bloodline was reckoned through the male. "To adulterate" means to introduce a foreign substance into something, thus adultery meant corrupting another man's bloodline by having sex with another man's wife. It is impossible to introduce a foreign substance by simply looking at another person.

18. “How did Judas die—did he hang himself, or did he fall headlong and his bowels gushed out?”

Ray's Answer: He hung himself, and unsurprisingly his still-hanging and decomposed body fell to the earth and split open. There is no contradiction.”

On Question 22, I point out that Ray Comfort publicly admitted that there was a contradiction to the Judas story, but here he fares no better.

If Judas hung himself, it flies right in the face of Acts 1:18 where Judas is walking and falls head first onto the ground. Kind hard to fall forward when your head is hanging on a tree. If you were to fall from being hanged, you'd fall feet-first, not head-first.

19. “Are you scared to publicly say that Islam is of Satan, Muhammad is a false prophet, and Allah is not God—Islam is a false religion and it is your personal aim to wipe out Islam.’”

Ray's Answer: It’s not the aim of Christians to wipe out Islam. We want every Moslem to make it to Heaven, and we therefore lovingly share the gospel with them.”
Crusades.

I rest my case.

20. “If properly read, the Bible is the greatest resource for atheism man ever wrote.”

Ray's Answer: Please encourage people to read it.”

I do.

My readers can start with www.skepticsannotatedbible.com

21. “Do gays go to Hell?”

Ray's Answer: Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God” (1 Corinthians 6:9–10). This is God’s standard. If you don’t like it feel free to take it up with Him.

Based on this, Ray Comfort is doomed. Ray can barely go a week without willfully lying about science.

But Ray Comfort can rest assured just like the rest of us, there is as much evidence that we are going to be judge by God as we being judged and punished by Lord Voldemort.

22. “Did Judas or did the Pharisees buy a field with the 30 pieces of silver?”

Ray's Answer: The Pharisees used his money that he had thrown down to buy a field in his name. There is no contradiction.”

Ray Comfort published this book in 2013. In 2014, an atheist pointed out the contradiction and Ray Comfort paid that atheist $100 for proving that contradiction.

Matthew 27:5 - Judas throws down the silver and walks away from the priests

Matthew has the priests of the temple buy a field with Judas's money, but in Acts 1:18 Judas himself uses the silver to buy some property.

This is a contradiction, plain and simple.

Here is Ray Comfort trying to weasel out of admitting this is a contradiction after he gave the atheist $100.

Afterwards an atheist asked me who--according to the Bible, purchased the Potter's Field. I told him that it was the Pharisees (see Matthew 27:6-10). When he said that there was a contradiction in Scripture because the Bible also says that it was Judas who purchased it, I said, "I will give you $100 if he did." He then pointed to Peter's words in Acts 1:18 (referring to Judas): "Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity..." I gave him $100, because Scripture does say "This man purchased a field." He was thrilled and so was I--that I hadn't said $1,000. He was right about what Scripture says, but he was wrong about it being a contradiction.

In 1994, when Bill Gates purchased the diary of Leonardo da Vinci for more than $30 million, he wasn't at the auction. Someone who was there purchased it "by proxy"--in his name using his money. Yet we say that Bill Gates purchased the diary. The Field of Blood was obviously purchased by proxy by the Chief Priests, using Judas' 30 pieces of silver, and the acquisition was made in his name. This is just another example of a "seeming" contradiction, and those who think that they have found a mistake are making one.

Wrong again mate. Look at the order of biblical events, provided by apologetic site Tektonics:
  • Judas returns the silver.
  • Judas goes to a field.
  • Judas hangs himself.
  • And then the corpse falls on the field.
  • Because the field is now defiled, the priests buy it to bury foreigners in.
  • Since they bought it with Judas' money, in a sense he "acquires the field".
  • Because of all of the above events, it becomes known as the Field of Blood.
While this almost explains everything, it leads to the bizarre result that Judas acquired the field after he was dead! This is, of course, not what Acts says. The sensible reading of Acts is that, while still alive, Judas acquired a field, and then he died in it. The above timeline is therefore ruled out.
If you accept the idea that Judas "acquired the field" when the priests bought it, I think you have to say that this happened before Judas died. He then went to that field to hang himself in. That might work, except that Matthew seems to have Judas kill himself first. Still, if you wish you can say that Matthew is not writing in order.

23. “Evolution is a proven fact.”

Ray's Answer: The burden of proof lies with the believer in evolution, but there is no proof because nothing can be observed. How can that which supposedly happened over millions of years, be observed? It is all founded on faith in men’s ideas, old bones, and in fallible dating methods.”

Science is not about direct observation, and this has been explained to Ray Comfort many times. No one can directly observe photons, and yet we know they exist. So how do we know they exist, and more over how is it that we know their size to such a high degree of accuracy? Before protons, scientists believed the “Pudding Model” in which the atom was a series of negatively charged elections surrounding the positively charged analogues. But in the early 1900's, Rutherford proposed a new model and tested it with alpha particles and gold foil, and proved the existence of positive protons within the atom even though direct observation of a individual proton was not possible.

Or take Pluto, which was discovered roughly 80 years ago. It is calculated that Pluto's orbit around the sun takes 248 years. This means no human has ever directly observed Pluto make a complete orbit around the sun, and yet we still know how long it takes for Pluto to complete it's cycle. Without direct observation we can know these things by calculating it's trajectory, measuring it's motion and distance and plug in the equations that govern orbital mechanics, we can determine Pluto's complete orbit.

The bottom line is that science is not about direct observation. You do not need to directly observe a proton to know it's there, and you don't need to live 250 years to confirm that Pluto requires about 248 to complete a full cycle orbit around the sun. In the same way, you don't have to directly observe evolution to determine that evolution has and does take place in the natural world.

Has the burden of proof been met for the theory of evolution? It absolutely has, more so than the theory of gravity. Even without direct observation (which we in fact do directly observe it, such as speciation), we can still know without a shadow of a doubt that evolution happens.

It is a fact that evolution happens; that biodiversity and complexity does increase, that both occur naturally only by evolutionary mechanisms and according to the laws of population genetics.

It is a fact that alleles vary with increasing distinction in reproductive populations and that these are accelerated in genetically isolated groups.

It is a fact that natural selection, sexual selection, and genetic drift have all been proven to have predictable effect in guiding this variance, both in the scientific literature and in practical application.

It is a fact that significant beneficial mutations do occur and are inherited by descendant groups, and that multiple independent sets of biological markers exist to trace these lineages backwards over many generations.

It is a fact that birds are a subset of dinosaurs the same way humans are a subset of apes, primates, eutherian mammals, and vertebrate deuterostome animals.

It is a fact that the collective genome of all animals has been traced to its most basal form through reverse sequencing, and that those forms are also indicated by comparative morphology, physiology, and embryological development as well a chronologically correct placement of successive stages revealed in the geological column.

It is a fact that everything on earth has definite relatives either living nearby or evident in the fossil record, and that the fossil record holds hundreds of definitely transitional species even according to it’s strictest definition of that term.

It is a fact that both microevolution and macroevolution have been directly-observed and document dozens of time both in the lab and in national controlled conditions in the field, and that instances have all withstood critical analysis in peer-review.

It is also a fact that evolution is the only explanation of biodiversity with either evidential support or scientific validity and no would be alternative notion has ever met even one of the criteria of being a theory.

Evolution is a fact!

Despite the fact that creationists will lie about everything in this list, these are the FACTS of evolution, meaning of each of these points are demonstrably true and measurably accurate, thus it is a matter of knowledge rather than mere belief.

24. “What proof is there Jesus ever existed?”

Ray's Answer: Those who ask this question apparently don’t know what year it is. (Ray Comfort's “citation” for this response is this: “We take our date “since Christ”.”)

It's like Ray Comfort tries to come up with the most pathetic responses possible. He is seriously using calendars as justifying evidence for a mythical character.
I guess by that logic, Thor must be real because I read this book on a Thursday.

And one more thing, we don't use “since Christ.” The common usage is “A.D.” which means “in the year of our Lord,” whereas the other common dating line is “C.E.” which means “in the Common Era.” Who determined that we use the A.D. in out timeline? The Romans, when the Emperor forced converted his entire Empire to Christianity. And so, the use of A.D. stuck, for the time being at least.

25. “If you believe that the world is going to come to an end, does it not drain one’s motivation to improve life on earth while we’re here?”

Ray's Answer: We desperately want to improve life on earth by stopping the mass-killing of the unborn through abortion, the rape of women, pornography, greed, lying, child abuse, murder, theft, adultery, wifebeating, hatred, wars, etc. The heart of the human problem is the sinful heart of the human being, and the only power that can change that is the gospel.”

If you wanted to accomplish all that you listed, you wouldn't be a Christian.
  • Mass-killing of the unborn through abortion...God approves of this!
  • The rape of women: God approves of this! He commanded the Jews rape the virgins.
  • Pornography: God approved of a man having sex with David's concubines in broad daylight in front of the city of Jerusalem for all to see.
  • Greed and Lying: Ray Comfort's life and missionary of making millions of dollars every year by lying is proof enough that he does not want to stop this in the slightest.
  • Child abuse: God approves of this too!
  • Murder: God loves this!
  • Theft: God approves of this too! So does Jesus in Luke 19.
  • Adultery: God is okay with this if you are a man.
  • Hatred: Jesus approves of this, for he said “for those who don't hate their own lives are not worthy of me.”
  • Wars: the God-character of the Bible is the ultimate war machine.

The heart of the problem is not simply being human, the problem is this insanity of being against the very things while praising a being that does them all.

Now to answer the question of whether a belief in the end times draining one's motivation to improve life on Earth, I have to answer that is most certainly the case.

Take a look at people like 60-year-old Robert Fitzpatrick, who believed the word of Harold Camping that the world was going to end on May 21, 2011. Robert Fitzpatrick literally spent his entire life savings to advertise to as most people as possible that the end was nigh. So Robert Fitzpatrick placed himself in a position where he literally had to believe what would happen to take place. But of course, on May 22, he learned that he was duped, and he was left penniless. Now imagine if he, and many others like him, where not fooled about "the End Times" and focused all their time and energy on something productive? Instead, all the talk of doomsday literally drained people like Robert Fitzpatrick of any motivation to carry on as if there will be another year to come and it literally drained him of his life savings.

Another example is that some politicians in America excuse themselves from caring to deal with the critical issue of climate change, because they believe God is in control and will eventually bring about the end of the world anyway. In their mindset, we can drill and drill until there's not a drop of oil, we can fish and fish until there is no more fish left and everybody starves, because Jesus is coming back and he's going to roast everything anyway.

26. “Didn’t men write the Bible?”

Ray's Answer: Men wrote the Bible, but they wrote it in the same way a pen is instrumental in writing a letter. Men were God’s instruments to pen His letter to humanity. His signature is on the letter through the amazing prophecies of the Bible. Only He knows the future.”

If God knows the future, then you don't have free will.

It is common to hear a theist explain ‘God is outside of space and time.’ If he existed outside of time, he could not do anything before he did anything else, he could not do anything after he did anything. That means if God exists outside of time, he does not exist. He cannot do anything before and/or after what he is doing, then he cannot do anything. So we disprove God just based on his own definition, but where did that definition come from, where did the concept of God come from…mankind.

27. “Suffering proves there’s no God.”

Ray's Answer: It proves the opposite. The truth of the Bible is substantiated by what we see around us, because it tells us in Genesis that we have suffering, disease, pain and death because we live in a “fallen” creation.”
Buddhism also tells us why we have suffering. Hinduism also tells us why we have suffering. Karma also tells us why we have suffering. But all of these, including Ray's religion, cannot be right at the same time, so at least one is right or they are all wrong.

They all use suffering as the "proof" that their explanation is the correct one, but they don't offer any more "proof" to show that one is more right than any other. So where is the evidence Ray?

28. “The Bible is full of mistakes.”

Ray's Answer: It has seeming mistakes, which, when investigated with a humble heart, prove to be our mistakes, not God’s. The death of Judas, the day Adam died, the “two” creations, the last words of Jesus, etc., all have simple explanations.”
No, they don't. Ray Comfort does not mean the answers can be found by being humble, rather by being dishonest.

I'll give you one simple mistake in the Bible, and all I need to do it is look at the first three verses of the first chapter of Genesis, the first book. It says “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the Earth. And the Earth was without form and void, and God separated the waters from the firmament.” Later on it says “light” and “stars” were later created by God. This is all I need to go with.

My objection: I am going to prove that it is impossible for “water” to exist before the creation of stars. The Hebrew word used for water in this verse is "Mayim" which is also the same word to describe the seas, the word used when we bathe ourselves or drink to quench our thirst. "Mayim," esp. in this case, is a literal word. For those who incorrectly try to pass it off as a metaphorical have no clear case, for there is no reason to assume that Genesis is being metaphorical with just the waters but not with "light" "earth" "stars" or anything else in Genesis. Some Christians believe the “let there be light” refers to the birth of stars, but that does not resolve the problem that according to Genesis, water existed before this light.

We all know water is simply Hydrogen and Oxygen. These two atoms is what you need to make water. So where did Hydrogen and Oxygen come from?

All of the matter in the universe is a condensed form of energy. We know this from mass energy equivalence (E = mc²), and we have been able to convert one to the other with two nuclear forces by the manipulation of qluons, W+ and W-, and Z bosons. These are also naturally occurring processes, the rule of these processes and the Big Bang Theory is by following inflationary epoch, approx. 10 to the minus four seconds after the Big Bang.

The expansion of the universe causes temperature to fall, to the threshold temperature of protons and quarks, the fundamental constituents of matter, is reached. Further expansion causes the temperature to drop further, allowing protons and neutrons to form, and there are your first Hydrogen atoms. So where are the Oxygen atoms?

The first hydrogen atoms get attracted to each other under the force of gravity to form structures of extreme density and heat, eventually resulting in quantum tunneling and allows fusion to take place and thus creating the first stars in the universe.

This fusion that power's the stars allows heavier elements to form within the star (Helium, Neon, Carbon, Oxygen, Iron, etc). But eventually the stars die and explode in a supernova, thus releasing all the atoms inside it across the universe. New isotopes are unstable, so neutrons decay into protons, turning them into elements higher on the Periodic Table, and form essentially the constituents of everything you see. But the point is that Oxygen is finally released into the universe, which can now bond with Hydrogen and form the first water molecule.

Look at the order of events: Hydrogen comes first, Hydrogen forms stars, fusion inside stars form Oxygen atoms, supernova releases the Oxygen, to finally Oxygen and Hydrogen bond to form water.

Now compare that to Genesis: water already is formed, light and stars are created later.

The case is clear – Genesis made a mistake, and got the order and origin of water wrong. And that is just one of the hundreds of mistakes within the Bible. That is not even the first mistake within the first chapter of the book of Genesis.

29. “Why doesn’t God show Himself?”

Ray's Answer: No man can look upon God and live. The Bible says that He shines above the brightness of the sun. If we stood in His presence, His justice would spill over and execute us for our crimes against His Law. He, however, has made Himself known through His creation. The order of nature shows us His handiwork and leaves us without excuse (see Romans 1:20–24).”
Genesis 32:30: “And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.”

Exodus 33:23: “And I [God] will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen.”

These are just a few lines that mention the visibility of God, but they create a confusing dynamic between how or if God is visually represented. In the verse from John, the author claims that “no man hath seen God at any time,” yet Jacob claims to have seen God face to face in Genesis—and then in Exodus, God reveals his “back parts.”

But it is still a valid question: why doesn't God show himself, or just talk to the whole world directly?

Look at Abraham, in Genesis 15:8. where God is directly talking to him and telling Abraham to get a bunch of animals, cut them in half, just so God can talk to Abraham in a dream. .... wait what? Hello, God was just talking to you, why would he need you to perform some form of blood magic in order to communicate to you via a dream? He's God, the god that supposedly can see your inner thoughts, how is he incapable of comminicating to a person directly, or the entire world for that matter?

30. “There is no Hell.”

Ray's Answer: If a judge shut his eyes to Mafia murders, he is a corrupt judge, and should be prosecuted himself. If God is good He must see that perfect justice is done. The Bible warns that that will happen on Judgment Day. God will punish all murderers and rapists, but He is so good, and so just, He will also punish thieves, liars, fornicators, adulterers, and even those who have lusted (see Matthew 5:27–28) and hated (see 1 John 3:15). Hell is His terrible prison, and those who go there won’t be eligible for parole.”
That which is asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence. Ray Comfort has yet to prove the existence of his god, therefore his entire argument that a Hell must exist is ultimately meaningless. Just because a mythical place is mentioned in a book of fables does not mean it exists. If we followed that logic, then the Hell of the Koran is real and Ray Comfort is going there. Or how about Avalon in the King Arthur tales?

At the end of the day, the existence of Hell has not been established as a real place. All Ray Comfort has done was will it into existence through the power of pretend.

And on that note, if there really was a Hell and it is so bad, then why would you want to go to Heaven if it existed?

31. “Do you believe in talking snakes?”

Ray's Answer: Parrots talk. Dogs tell humans when there’s danger. They also “talk” with other dogs. Dolphins communicate with each other. So do whales. Elephant’s converse with each other, and a cat will tell you when he’s hungry. Believers in evolution mock the thought of a snake that can communicate, but they believe that they themselves are talking primates. (Source: The Smithsonian Institute: “How Do We Know Humans Are Primates?”—“Besides similar anatomy and behavior, there is DNA evidence. It confirms that humans are primates and that modern humans and chimpanzees diverged from a common ancestor between 8 and 6 million years ago.” http://humanorigins.si.edu/resources/how-do-we-know-humans-are-primates-0)

I am not kidding this in the slightest, Ray Comfort's citation for this piece says in small letters that it is genetically proven that humans and chimpanzees share a common ancestor, and yet he says this is what “they believe.” That is like taking a paternity test -- the very tests courts of law use as valid evidence -- and saying "well you only believe that is is evidence."

But here is the reality of the situation: snakes do not and cannot "talk."

The book of Genesis has a serpent actually speaking the human language, which is impossible considering that snakes do not have the vocal cords to engage in speech.

So where does Genesis come up with crazy stuff like talking snakes? Well, according to Jewish Talmudic legend and midrashic literature, Eve was not Adam's first wife. His first wife was Lilith, who the Jews took from Mesopotamian mythos and the Epic of Gilgamesh (a completely different culture with different languages and beliefs). Gilgamesh walks through the sacred garden and comes across the dark maid Lilith who lived in a forbidden tree with a companion who was "the serpent who could not be tamed." So the Jews took this mythos and adopted it into their own religion, in which Lilith and Adam were created simutaneously as equals, but Lilith knew the secret name of God which gave her the ability to fly and thus escape the Garden of Eden. But rumor has it that when she returned, she found Adam with a new wife, Eve, so Lilith took the guise of a snake and tricked Eve.

As present day Christians confuse the "serpent" in Genesis with Satan, Christians in the Middle Ages confused the serpent with Lilith. A glimpse through history reveals that often times the "serpent" is depicted as a woman.

This is from a 15th century manuscript

Here is another one from the same period, sometimes all you see is a woman's head

Remember, all of these came from all the mainstream sources of their time.

Duc de Berry, 15th century
the most famous and possibly the best surviving example of French Gothic manuscript illumination
depicted his "serpent" Lilith as a Naga - half woman, half snake

Raphael Sanzio the Renaissance man did the same thing

These were religious men, all of these artists. These were believing Christians. And these depictions of the snake being a woman even appears in big important churches...

...like this relief on the wall of Notre Dame Cathedral itself in 1210 C.E.

...and even on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel by Michelangelo

So this Naga, this half-woman half-snake... does that look like Satan to you?

So now you know why and how the Judaic mythos came up with the "talking serpent" - they adopted it from Mesopotamian myths - and you know, just pretty much from common sense, that snakes and serpents don't talk like humans. Anyone who seriously tries to argue that a animal with no larynx or vocal cords are incapable of producing speech is, to put it bluntly, insane.

36. “What’s funny to me is that the religious people get on a social networking site developed by an atheist (Mark Zuckerberg and FaceBook), using operating systems created by an atheist (Apple’s Steve Jobs, Microsoft’s Bill Gates)…and talk about how atheists are damned, doomed to hell and the world is better off without them.”

Ray's Answer: Steve Jobs was not an atheist. Just after his tragic death in October, 2011, National Public Radio said, “Jobs told Isaacson [his biographer] that he was ‘50/50’ on the existence of God, and that he wasn’t sure whether there was an afterlife.” (“New Bio Quotes Jobs On God, Gates And Great Design,” October 25,th, 2011, http://www.npr.org/2011/10/25/141656955/new-bio-quotes-jobs-on-god-gates-and-great-design) Nor is Bill Gates.

So Comfort's evidence is “hearsay” that Jobs was not an atheist?

That is the same sort of weak evidence that creationists use to lie about Charles Darwin "recanting" on his death bed by using the hearsay testimony of others (who btw were not even at his death bed).

37. “Why did God order the killing of an entire people group? That’s genocide.”

Ray's Answer: God didn’t just kill a group of people. He killed the entire human race, except for eight people, in the Noahic flood. You should thank Him for saving them, because without them, you wouldn’t be here. You will also die because God has ordered your death sentence. However, He will grant everlasting life to those who repent and trust in Jesus.”

In reality, there is no god that wiped out the planet of human life. That is a fairy tale/myth. The moral of the story however remains, that a immoral dictator kills every human for... being human

There were no “eight people” that all humans come from. There is no evidence of a genetic bottle-neck that proves the human species come from a incestuous gang-bang thousands of years ago.
(Hawks, J. et al. (2000). Population Bottlenecks and Pleistocene Human Evolution. Mol. Biol. Evol. 17: 2–22.)

38. “If I’m made in God’s image, why do I have a vestigial tail?”

Ray's Answer: It’s not a “tailbone.” It’s the coccyx vertebrae, and it anchors 12 important muscles: “The tailbone derived its name because some people believe it is a ‘leftover’ part from human evolution, though the notion that the tailbone serves no purpose is wrong. The coccyx is an extremely important source of attachment for tendons, ligaments, and muscles, though it is structured quite differently than other parts of the spine.” (Laser Spine Institute: “Tailbone.” http://www.laserspineinstitute.com/back_problems/spinal_anatomy/tailbone/)
The tailbone is indeed appropriately named the tailbone, because it is a vestigial remnant of the tails our ancestors once had. It's still in our genetic codes, and sometimes people are born with those tails.

this is an X-ray image of an atavistic tail found in a six-year old girl.

More than 100 cases of human tails have been reported in the medical literature. True human tails are rarely inherited, though several familial cases are known (Dao and Netsky 1984; Ikpeze and Onuigbo 1999; Touraine 1955). In one case the tail has been inherited through at least three generations of females (Standfast 1992).

39. “I thought God was supposed to be our friend, not our enemy.”

Ray's Answer: The Bible says that we are enemies of God in our mind, in a state of continual hostility towards the God of the Bible (see Romans 8:7). However, He will become your friend, if you surrender to Him (see John 15:14).”

What friend asks you to “surrender” to them? No friend would do that.

The god-character of the Bible is no friend. He is the guy who is holding a gun to your head and telling you to love him or he will punish you. That is the God of the Bible in a nutshell.

40. “How can you justify God killing everyone in a flood?”

Ray's Answer: God doesn’t have to justify Himself to anybody, because He is God. Everyone will die, because the Judge of the Universe has proclaimed our death sentence. We are the ones who need justification, not God, and we can be justified through repentance and faith in Jesus.”

And that is what makes faith so dangerous, discarding your moral compass over the actions of a unproven invisible magic man who calls itself an unquestionable "Judge."

41. “Why does the Old Testament show a God of wrath and the New Testament a God of mercy?”

Ray's Answer: There is no difference between the two. God is just as loving in the Old Testament and just as wrath filled in the New Testament. He never changes.”

And yet on Question 75, Ray Comfort admits the Bible says God changes his mind.

42. “Who made God?”

Ray's Answer: God created the dimension of time, but He isn’t subject to it. He dwells in eternity where there is no time, and it is eternity into which you will pass, when you pass on.”
Ray Comfort claims his god created time. For the sake of argument, could Ray's god created time? In order for anyone to believe that a god created time, they would have to believe that at one point time did not exist in order for their god to create it.

P1) God is defined as the arbiter of all things, including time;

P2) A decision requires transition from indifferences to will (requires time)

P3) Since time cannot exist prior to its existence, God cannot choose to create time;

P4) If God cannot choose to create time, he is not arbiter of all things;

P5) Therefore, a personal entity cannot be the ultimate arbiter of all things;

P6) Therefore, God as defined is internally inconsistent

C) Therefore, there is no God.

If “god” existed outside of time, he could not do anything before he did anything else, he could not do anything after he did anything. That means if God exists outside of time, he does not exist. He cannot do anything before and/or after what he is doing, then he cannot do anything. So we disprove God just based on his own definition.

43. “Why does God want to torture people in Hell?”

Ray's Answer: Hell is God’s prison, where there will be no parole. It is where those who have done evil (violated His moral Law) will receive perfect justice. Call that torture if you will—all the more reason not to end up there.”
An infinite punishment for a finite crime is not logical nor is it “perfect justice.”

44. “The Bible is not backed up by archeology; it’s disproven in many cases by archeology.”

Ray's Answer: The exact opposite is true. You need only do an Internet search using the words “archeology and the Bible.” (Source: http://christiananswers.net/archaeology/)
Prior to the 1970s one can be forgiven for thinking that archeology is the handmaid of the bible—for one archeological dig after another seemed to confirm it. But this is no longer true. Scholars are questioning the whole paradigm of “biblical archaeology,” which starts with the assumption that the Bible is a reliable guide for field research. Indeed, there is now so much contrary evidence against the historical accuracy of the Bible that the term “biblical archaeology” has been discarded by professional archaeologists and Syro-Palestinian archaeology has been suggested by some practicing in the field as a more appropriate term.

45. “There’s no scientific evidence of a god!”

Ray's Answer: Those who make such claims need absolute knowledge. Somewhere in the universe there may be knowledge they haven’t yet come across, which could be ample evidence. They are therefore forced to say that “as far as I know” there is no evidence. The word “science” simply means knowledge, and there is enough knowledge in the order of Nature that proves that God exists.”

Wrong, there is no “enough knowledge” in Nature that proves God exists. All Ray Comfort has is a presupposition that there is, and argues that we live in a creation without proving we live in a creation.

One does not need "absolute knowledge" to make certain claims. For instance, we don't need to have absolute knowledge to know that squared-circles do not exist, because it is internally contradictory and thus cannot exist. Likewise, we can know based on the attributes of gods that show they cannot exist. For example, one cannot be outside of time and create time. A being that is omniscience and omnipotent is self contradictory. A being that is omnibenevolent would not create suffering.

46. “Christians are obsessed with death.”

Ray's Answer: Only yours… We have eternal life.”

You have a unsubstantiated dream of eternal life.

47. “If God does exist, how do you explain incurable genetic diseases, cancer, and needless suffering?”

Ray's Answer: If you reject the Genesis curse, nothing makes sense. The Bible says we live in a “fallen” creation—filled with disease, suffering and death.”
If you reject the “Genesis whatever” you've taken a step towards common sense. There is no aspect of the Genesis account that has any scientific validation, and therefore deserves nothing but rejection.

With the scientific-illiterate and fact-free story of Genesis, we can discover the real answers to why there are genetic diseases by studying genetics instead of ancient  books of fables.

48. “I have not been a perfect person at times, but I have tried to make things right.”

Ray's Answer: If you are guilty in a criminal court of a serious crime, you can’t make things right yourself. If you are guilty, there must be punishment. Our crimes against God are so serious they demand the death penalty.”
We do not have any crimes against a god that does not evidently exist. Just as we have never committed a crime against the Great Unga Bunga or the Nova Corp.

Noah was a naked old drunk, cursing his own children. Lot offered his daughters to a rape mob, before he got drunk and molested them himself – and he even blamed them for seducing him (what a schmuck!). Yet these are the men that God considered to be the best in the whole world. Graded on a curve, wouldn't you all be better than that?

49. “Jesus appealed to God on the cross when He himself is God, supposedly.”

Ray's Answer: When God, the omnipresent Upholder of the Universe, became a Man, He didn’t cease to be the omnipresent Upholder of the Universe. He was limited to time and space, and called God His Father.”
That still makes no logical sense. If Jesus was God, he would not call out and talk to God as if he is someone else, somewhere else, with a different life, plan and role than himself.

50. “The belief that we are sheep in need of a shepherd is disgusting and revolting to me. To consider my intellect equal to that of a sheep is an insult to my dignity.”

Ray's Answer: Only believers are likened to sheep (teachable). Unbelievers are likened to goats (stubborn).”

The Bible does not indicate that sheep are “teachable,” unless he means taught to be brainwashed and blindly follow a mythical savior.

51. “A morally good God would judge people based on who they define themselves as through actions, not thoughts or belief.”

Ray's Answer: Our thoughts and beliefs govern our actions, and God considers lust to be adultery and hatred to be murder. That’s His standard and there is no changing that. Anything else is a form of idolatry.”
A moral judge judges the actions of the criminal, not their thoughts and different views. If a moral judge met a Nazi face to face, he cannot punish the Nazi for holding racist beliefs. He can only punish the Nazi if he has harmed another person.

But the god-character of the Bible is not a “moral” judge, in every sense of the word. Remember, this is the god-character that thought slaver was okay; who commanded parents to eat their children; who slaughtered an entire town of 50,000 for the crimes of 5 ranchers outside the city (1 Samuel 6); who commanded genocide and fratricide; and spread confusion and chaos throughout the world when humans tried to unify in harmony (read the story of the tower of Babel - but bear in mind for verse 4, the Hebrew word shamayim means "lofty" or "high in the sky" it does not mean they were trying to reach Heaven or get to God's level).

52. “I was a Christian for 25 years.”

Ray's Answer: During your time as a Christian, did you know the Lord? If you say that you did know Him, you are admitting that God is real. If you say that you thought you did, then you didn’t, and you were never a Christian. You faked it all that time. But you are not alone. Many, if not most, atheists have had false conversions and that’s why they are so adamantly anti-Christian. They heard a false gospel that said that Jesus gives joy and peace and fixes problems, and when what they think is Christianity didn’t deliver the promised goods, they became disillusioned and often bitter.”
Nobody “knows” that which does not evidently exist.

Not dismissing the sincerity of people's beliefs, but religious experiences and strong convictions don't make things real.

Michael Harner, and anthropologist who lived among the Jivaro Indians of the Ecuadoran Amazon, described his experience with ayahuasca as follows:
“For several hours after drinking the brew, I found myself although awake, in a world literally beyond my wildest dreams. I met bird-like people, as well as a dragon-like creature who explained they were the true Gods of this world. I enlisted the services of other spirit helpers in attempting to fly through the far reaches of the Galaxy. Transported into a trance where the supernatural seemed natural, I realized that anthropologists, including myself, had profoundly underestimated the importance of the drug in affecting native ideology.”

It is scientifically plausible that the god you “know” and consult about things like moral issues is in fact you. Indeed, findings in neurological science are pulling back the curtain in religious moral thought. In a revealing study by Nicholas Eply (Eply, N. et al 2009, "Proceedings of the National Academy of Science, 106), Christian volunteers were asked to report their own views, the views of their deity, and the views of others on a range of controversial issues (such as legal euthanasia) while having their brain activity scanned. Results show that thinking about divine views activated the same brain regions as thinking about their own views, indicating that when believing themselves to be consulting the divine moral compass, theists may instead be doing is doing what the rest of us do: searching their own conscience.

An idea further supported by the finding that manipulating the subjects beliefs consistently influence their views about divine beliefs. As Eply put it, "Intuiting God's beliefs...may serve as an echo chamber to validate and justify one's own beliefs."

Therefore, the god Ray Comfort may claim to “know” right now is very likely himself, and whenever he engages with this deity he is only hearing the echo chamber of his own mind.

53. “There is no proof that God exists.”

Ray's Answer: Atheists believe the scientific impossibility that nothing created everything. That is the automatic default when someone believes that there was no initial Cause. They have only one alternative, and that is to redefine the word “nothing” to be something. Some do that, confirming the Bible’s wisdom in reminding us that “The fool has said in his heart, there is no God.””
Ray Comfort knows he is lying every time he says “atheists believe nothing created everything.” Ever since the debate with the Rational Response Squad on Nightline in 2005, the atheists told him that the universe could be eternal instead of coming from nothing – to which Ray Comfort had no counter-argument.

Ray Comfort has been told this over and over again, in debates with atheists like Matt Dillahunty (not once but twice) and Aron Ra. He has been told clearly that “atheism” doesn't mean “everything came from nothing” and atheists don't by default believe everything came from nothing.

Is the default position of not believing in a First Cause mean you therefore believe everything came from nothing? Of course not. What if there was no Cause, because there was no beginning? What if matter and energy was eternal? While our universe had a beginning, that does not mean all energy and matter had a beginning. The overwhelming census of cosmologists agree that we live in a multiverse, where an infinite number of universes may exist independent of our own. And this multiverse may be eternal, with the birth and death of universes being in constant motion.

On the other hand, do scientists “redefine” the word nothing?

54. “None of you know what God would say to anybody.”

Ray's Answer: We can know God’s will. He left us His last will and testament. I would advise you to begin reading His will by checking out the New Testament, because He has left an inheritance.”
You cannot know anything about that which does not evidently exist. Ray Comfort insisting that he can is as ridiculous as him claiming he knows the length of a unicorn's horn or Ray knowing the will of Thor.

55. “Hitler was also a self-proclaimed Christian.”

Ray's Answer: He was a Roman Catholic who hated biblical Christianity. He called it a “disease.””
Roman Catholics are Christians.

Ray Comfort is using Hitler's Table Talk as a source for calling Christianity a "disease." The problem with these anti-Christian quotes is that the German text of the table-talk does not include them, they were made up by François Genoud, the translator of the French version, the very version that English translations rely on!

Even if you believed the table-talk included the anti-Christian quotes, nowhere in the talk does Hitler speak against Jesus or his own brand of Christianity. On the contrary, the table-talk has Hitler speaking admirably about Jesus. Hitler did, of course criticize organized religion in a political sense (as do many Christians today), but never in a religious sense. But the problems with using Hitler's table talk conversations as evidence for Hitler's apostasy are manyfold:
1) The reliability of the source (hearsay and editing by the anti-Catholic, Bormann)

2) The reliability of multiple translations, from German to French to English.
3) The bias of the translators (especially Genoud).
4) The table-talk reflects thoughts that do not occur in Hitler's other private or public conversations.
5) Nowhere does Hitler denounce Jesus or his own brand of Christianity.
6) The "anti-Christian" portions of Table-Talk does not concur with Hitler's actions for "positive" Christianity.

56. “If you believe the earth is 6000 years old then you deny science.”

Ray's Answer: If you believe the earth is millions or billions of years old, you “believe” science. You don’t “know” the age of the earth. You “trust” what you’ve been told by fallible men and fallible dating processes. Your convictions rest entirely on faith.”
Dear reader, do you "believe" in gravity? If you do, do you think that if your choose to not believe in gravity will you suddenly be able to fly?

Do you "believe" that Uranium is radioactive? If you do, do you think that if you choose to not believe Uranium is radioactive, would you swallow half an ounce of Uranium?

If you accept the fact that uranium is radioactive, that means you accept the fact of radioactive decay. And when it comes to radioactivity, we have learned and confirmed a lot about it. We know radioactivity is real, dangerous, and measurable. In SI units, we measure radioactivity in Becquerels (Bq), named after the guy who discovered radioactivity. One Bq is equal to one release of radioactive nucleon per second.

According to the Physics Department of the University of Idaho, the kilogram of Uranium 238 releases on average 25 B1. And the fifth edition of the McGraw Hills Science and Technology Encyclopedia calculates that the Earth's crust contains ~1.0001 x 10^17 kgs of Uranium 238. That means that the total amount of radioactive nucleotide output on Earth is accounted for Uranium 238 is about 1.2 x 10^18 Bq.

Now, the decay rate of an isotope is linearly related to both it's age and parent-daughter parameter. The parent-daughter parameter is will vary with each individual sample, but the average decay rate will not. So the age of the Earth should correspond to the decay rate of Radiometric Decay Constant.

Since Creationists Model stipulates that the age of the Earth is 760,000 less than it's measured age (4,560,000,000 years divided by 6,000 years = ~760,000), therefore the decay rate for the Creationists Model must average 760,000 times it's ACTUAL decay rate, or about 9.1 x 10^6 Bq/kg. That means that the flux of Earth's radioactivity due to Uranium 238 alone (when you add in the total amount of Ur on Earth's crust) should be a total of 9.1 x 10^23 Bq, or an average of about 4.6 x 10^15 Bq PER SQUARE MILE everywhere on the planet!

To put that into perspective, the Fukashima nuclear disaster is estimated to have released a total of about 5.4 x 10^14 Bq. That means in order for the Creationists Model to work, the planet must have released a total of 8.6 times more radiation than Fukashima did in total, EVERY square mile on the planet, EVERY second for the past 6,000 years.

AND THAT IS BEING GENEROUS.

We haven't even calculated the radioactivity of every other isotope and added them all up, nor did I take into account that there was more Uranium 238 (and therefore more radioactivity) in the past.

So, since we do not and have never experience such a overwhelmingly vast amount of radioactive decay rate, we can be confident that the Earth is definitely not 6,000 years old. The truth is inescapable: the Earth is old, very very very old.

57. “I swapped my Bible for a copy of Thomas Paine’s, ‘The Age of Reason.’”

Ray's Answer: For no reason, eternal pleasure was swapped for nothing but Paine.”

For good reasons, such as there being no reason to believe in unproven nonsense without reason, it makes perfect sense to discard books of fairy tales in favor of intellectual books.

No eternal pleasure was lost or sacrificed, for there was no "eternal pleasure" to begin with. There is no evidence whatsoever of there being a Heaven. Ray Comfort, throughout his entire life in his ministry, has ever produced a shred of evidence for his mythical magic-land called Heaven.

58. “I lack belief in gods.” (Part One)

Ray's Answer: Atheist, PZ Myers said, “Boy, I really do hate these guys. You’ve got a discussion going, talking about why you’re an atheist, or what atheism should mean to the community, or some such topic that is dealing with our ideas and society, and some smug $@!#* comes along and announces that ‘Atheism means you lack a belief in gods. Nothing more. Quit trying to add meaning to the term.’ As if atheism can only be some platonic ideal floating in virtual space with no connections to anything else; as if atheists are people who have attained a Zen-like ideal, their minds a void, containing nothing but atheism, which itself is nothing. Dumbasses.” (Source: http://scienceblogs.com/pharyngula/2011/02/01/why-are-you-an-atheist/)

59. “I lack belief in gods.” (Part Two)

Ray's Answer: Atheist, PZ Myers said, “I have heard this so often, the hair-splitting grammatical distinctions some atheists think so seriously important in defining themselves. All you’re doing is defining yourselves as #$%!@ retentive freaks, people! Get over it. Either way, you’re an atheist—and that goes for the over—philosophized fussbudgets who insist that they’re agnostics, not atheists, because they aren’t 100% positive there aren’t any gods, only 99 44/100ths positive.” (Source: http://scienceblogs.com/pharyngula/2011/02/01/why-are-you-an-atheist/)

Both #58 and 59 are from Z Meyer, the atheist who wants to turn atheism into something more, the guy who came up with Atheism+ to add frosting over what it means to be an atheist.

It should be noted that PZ Meyers also cleared up what he meant. Part of his much longer explanation:

"I had made the mistake, you see, of pointing out that atheism is more than just disbelief. I suppose I could have mentioned that a painting is more than pigment on canvas, famili
es are more than just small groups of people, and that people are more than ambulatory arrangements of carbon compounds, but let’s not go crazy here — it was heretical enough that I expected atheists to do more with reason and rationality than simply deny god."

Despite how PZ Meyers pleas, all one has to be to be an atheist is lack any belief in a god. It does not mean that an atheist should think any certain way pertaining to the "ideas and society" and such, nor does it mean that an atheist is somehow smarter or more rational -- ex. there are atheists who deny science and embrace pseudoscience.

60. “There are 3,000 gods that you don’t believe in. I just don’t believe in one more.”

Ray's Answer: There are not 3,000 gods. There are millions (Hinduism has 450,000,000). Making an image of god (either with your hands or in your mind) is called “idolatry” and is a violation of the First and the Second of the Ten Commandments. However, there is only one Creator, and He is the One you have to face on Judgment Day whether you believe in Him or not.”
So where is the evidence for this one Creator? Ray Comfort has yet to produce an inkling of evidence for this Creator, ever.

And even if there are millions of Gods, that makes Ray Comfort's God even less probable. Prove to me that Lord  Krishna absolutely does not exist, and I will use that exact same method to prove that Yahweh/God does not exist.

Of course you cannot prove a negative, and why would you bother trying to disprove something that has never been proven true or real to begin with? That's the main issue.

The second issue is that, for the sake of argument, if we say that there are in fact millions of gods, Ray Comfort is telling us to believe in one out of the possible millions. And if you do the math, Ray Comfort is far less likely to be right. In fact, as I argued in my blog post Tackling Pascal's Wager, I proved mathematically that it is impossible to be right on picking the correct god, if there even is one.

61. “Glaciers created the Great Lakes, and tectonic plates created mountains.”

Ray's Answer: The word “created” is a figure of speech. Lakes are simply “melted” glaciers. Nothing was created. The rain doesn’t create puddles on the ground. The puddles are merely rain on the ground.”

Rain "forms" or even "creates" puddles on the ground. We know how mountains and glaciers and lakes form, none of which requires a God to explain any part of it.

62. “What about the appendix? It’s a left-over from evolution.”

Ray's Answer: The appendix is said to be vestigial. But it’s not. Duke University said: “Appendix Isn’t Useless at All: It’s a Safe House for Bacteria, By Duke Medicine News and Communications. Long denigrated as vestigial or useless, the appendix now appears to have a reason to be—as a ‘safe house’ for the beneficial bacteria living in the human gut.” (Source: http://www.dukehealth.org/health_library/news/10151)
Vestigial does not mean “useless.” A vestige is a "trace or visible sign left by something lost or vanished" (G. & C. Merriam 1974, 769).

Robert Wiedersheim, the notorious cataloguer of 86 human vestigial structures, never claims that vestigial structures must lack functions. In the introduction to The Structure of Man, Wiedersheim defines "vestigial" in evolutionary terms:
“Comparative morphology points not only to the essentially similar plan of organization of the bodies of all Vertebrates, ... but also to the occurrence in them of certain organs, or parts of organs, now known as 'vestigial.'”
63. “Why was it okay for Lot to allow his daughters to get raped? Is that what God believes to be moral?”

Ray's Answer: The Bible is full of people who did stupid things. They are in the Bible as examples of what not to do.”
Like marrying your sister? That was left in the Bible, and yet God did not once stop Cain and Abel from doing it.

Lot was considered by God to be the most righteous man on Earth. he was chosen out of thecrowd as the "good guy"... so it comes to logically follow that God things it's "good" to offer your daughters to a rape mob, and en late have sex with your daughters and impregnate them.

64. “What did the 3,000 species of termites eat on Noah’s boat for 10 months?”

Ray's Answer: There’s only one “kind” of termite. The first couple probably just dined on one piece of wood, during the flood.”

Termites are grouped under the Order Isoptera. So does that mean Kind is an “order.” Primates are also an order, that also includes chimpanzees and humans.

65. “Every evangelist says give to Jesus, but they give me their address.”

Ray's Answer: The Bible prophesied of them: “But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed. By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction does not slumber” (2 Peter 2:1–3).”
If my readers were to go to Ray Comfort's ministry website of Way of the Master, and see on the top bar "Support Us," it goes straight to a page that asks you to become a "partner" and give money to them. They accept Credit Cards, Checks, Cash, Electronic Funds Transfer, Stock and Security Donations, PayPal, and they ask you to give to them on a monthly basis. They even ask for "Planned Giving" ("Typical estate gifts include life insurance, retirement assets and bequests."), Property Gifts, and even donations of cars and/or boats.

And guess which address they put in there for the money to go? That's right, Ray Comfort's address at 9818 Arkansas St. Another example of the pot calling the kettle black.

I should also point out that 2 Peter is a forgery.

66. “If God designed our bodies, He didn’t do a very good job.”

Ray's Answer: Maybe yours isn’t very good. Remember that we live in a fallen creation filled with disease, pain, suffering and death.”
Everyone's body is flawed, even Ray Comfort's. Our bodies are clear evidence that we were never created, but the result of evolution – and we can prove that beyond a shadow of a doubt.

If we were created perfectly, as it is said in the scientifically-inaccurate book of Genesis, the fact that our bodies are and always were flawed is further evidence that the Bible is complete nonsense.

Take a look at your throat. The one place were you breathe and eat from uses the same pathway, which is doomed for inevitable choking. The dolphin has two pathways, one for breathing the other for eating. If we were designed to be perfect by a perfect creator, the supposed creator is a failure as an engineer.

67. “After Jesus died, the Apostles created Christian communism—‘If you read the Sermon on the Mount of Jesus Christ, and the Moral Code of the Builder of Communism – they are identical.’” (Source: http://rt.com/politics/christ-first-communist-communist-party-leader/)

Ray's Answer: Jesus said to love your enemies and to do good to those who despitefully use you—communism slaughtered 110 million people. (Source: 11. HOW MANY DID COMMUNIST REGIMES MURDER? By R.J. Rummel, “In sum the communist probably have murdered something like 110,000,000.” http://www.hawaii.edu/powerkills/COM.ART.HTM) They couldn’t be more opposed one to another.”
I will start off by stating that people have claimed that atheists are communists, or communism is based on atheistic ideology. This is, however, false. Epicureanism and Stoicism is based on atheistic ideology. A common complain made by theists, typically conservative Christians, is that atheism and/or humanism are essentially socialist or communist by nature. Communism is not, however, inherently atheistic. Some communists have been taught to be atheists, but becoming an atheist doesn't affect your politics. It is possible to hold communistic or socialist economic views while being a theist and it isn't at all uncommon to be an atheist while staunchly defending capitalism.

Linking atheism and communism is simply an attempted political smear, not a serious engagement with atheism. Part of this may be based on the historical linkage between Communism and Atheism. Most Communists are Atheists. But many people do not realize that most Atheists in North America are not Communists. In what way is atheism useful to communism? It isn't. The point is that religion provides an alternative source of authority and moral teachings. A communist or any totalitarian regime wants all authority, morality and virtue to come from the party and the people following the party's guidance.

Most of Stalinist violence resulted from forced collectivization, and recently published documents show the complicity of church authorities in the Stalinist agenda. Moreover, communism, in the sense of a system of collectivized property, is a biblical notion already found in Acts 4:32-27. That Christian communist system also results in the killing of a married couple (Acts 5:1-11) that reneged on their promise to surrender their property. Thus, the principle of killing those who did not conform to collectivization of property is already a biblical one. The defense that it was simply lying about turning over property that was the motive for the deaths of Ananias and Sapphira overlooks the brute fact that the value of life was put below handing over all their property. For instead of just being expelled, they were killed. Stalin or Mao probably would have done the same thing. Since communism is advocated by some biblical authors, then Maoist and Stalinist deaths cannot simply be attributed to atheism, as enforcing collectivization can be deadly in both atheist or Christian forms.

68. “I have found that I do not have to believe in God to be good.”

Ray's Answer: Everyone is good, by their own low moral standard. When God says “good,” He means moral perfection, in thought, word, and in deed.”
Ray's beloved god-character has the lowest of possible moral standards. The god-character of the Bible was manufactured by primitive savages who did not understand the world around them. This god-character has the lowest moral standard... and that is no moral standard. Morality does not matter to the god-character, only belief. That is all the god-character cares about. You can be the most selfish heartless monster in all of humanity, it does not matter to Yahweh because so long as you believe in him, you are the best in his eyes who deserves to be eternally rewarded.

69. “Have you guys read the part about not judging lest ye be judged?”

Ray's Answer: This verse of the Bible is directed at Christians, in the context of not judging other Christians. It goes hand in hand with Romans 14, which is about Christians judging each other as to what they should eat, drink, etc. Later on in the same portion of Scripture (Sermon on the Mount) Jesus said that when we judge, we should use “righteous judgment.” (Source: John 7:24)
So Jesus, if he existed and he really said this, said to “not judge” lest ye be judged, and then said to “judge with righteousness”? That does not make any sense. If you are asked not to judge others, you don't judge others.
70. “So, because I accept evolution I’m going to hell?”

Ray's Answer: You can believe in the Easter Bunny, if you wish. People will go to Hell for murder, rape, lying, stealing, adultery, fornication, lust, pride, etc. Each of us desperately need the Savior.”
No, people do not go to Hell or any place that does not evidently exist.

For the sake of argument, according to the tenets of Christianity, no person does to Hell for murder or anything bad. Instead, they are sent to Hell simply for not believing in Jesus, no matter how good or how bad they were in this life. According to Christianity, Ghandi is in Hell while Hitler is in Heaven.

71. “Macro [evolution—changes in kinds] is just the sum of micro [non-evolution—variations within kinds].”

Ray's Answer: This is not true. Micro evolution (changes within a “kind”—differing species of dogs, etc.) is everywhere, and it has nothing to do with Darwinian evolution (one “kind” changing into another “kind”). It’s an excuse to hide bogus science behind the skirts of what we see in nature.”
It is pointless to ask Ray Comfort to define what he means by a “kind” because it is not and never was a scientific term, and it only means whatever Ray Comfort wants it to mean. He has made it mean anything from Species, Genus, Family, Order and even Domain. Watch this video at 25:00 exactly in to see the proof of my statement.

It is also pointless to ask Ray Comfort what he would consider a transitional form in-between, for example, humans and other apes. Aron Ra, Texas State Director of American Atheists, in a debate with Ray Comfort asked him what Ray would expect to find in a transitional fossil between humans and other apes. Without hesitation Ray Comfort said he would not look for anything because he already knew that he was created in the "image of god." To prove this, you can see for yourself Ray Comfort outright rejecting to look for evidence of evolution in the debate with Aron Ra on this video (the exact moment is at 38:19)

72. “The universe may have always existed. It does not need a Creator.”

Ray's Answer: That is scientifically impossible, because of the 2nd law of thermodynamics. Everything is corrupting. If the universe was eternal it would have turned to dust billions upon billions of years ago. Only God is eternal because He is not physical. He is Spirit.” (Source: John 4:24)
Wrong.

The 2nd law of thermodynamics does not rule out an eternal universe. All of the matter in the universe is a condensed form of energy. We know this from mass energy equivalence (E = mc²), and we have been able to convert one to the other with two nuclear forces by the manipulation of qluons, W+ and W-, and Z bosons. So in summary, all matter comes from energy, and energy in accordance to the law of thermodynamics, is eternal.

The 2nd Law states: for every thermodynamic change in a system some amount of heat is irreversibly absorbed by the system. Entropy involves loss of potential to do work. Disorder is used to describe entropy to grade school students and it is a term avoided by physicists due to it misrepresentation of what entropy truly is.

73. “If your God is omnipotent, why do thousands of children starve to death every single day?”

Ray's Answer: An estimated 40 thousand children die of starvation each day. Many die because of political regimes that refuse to allow aid into their countries. Others die because God withholds the rain from their land. Less would die if rich nations were more generous with their abundance of food. Back in 2010, the U.S. spent about $18.7 billion dollars on space exploration.”

Ray just admitted that his God “withholds the rain from their land” in which means no crops are grown. That is God deliberately starving them. What would you call a parent who deliberately starved their own children that ended up killing them? You would label that parent a monster.

74. “Considering having someone killed because another person didn’t do something right, seems a bit ridiculous.”

Ray's Answer: What Adam did may seem ridiculous, but God holds you personally responsible for your own actions. If you fall off a cliff, gravity will kill you. If you place your finger in a live light socket, electricity will kill you. These are the natural consequences that God has created for violators. You are violating God’s moral Law at the moment, but you feel secure because you don’t see the full consequences. But they will eventually come.”

Nothing will come, for there is no proof that anything Ray Comfort has in mind is coming. His words hold no more weight than a Finnish pagan on a soapbox warning everyone he can that Ragnarok is coming.

75. “The Bible says ‘God repented.’ Doesn’t that show He is capable of sin?”

Ray's Answer: In the context, it simply means a change of mind. This is different than repentance as regards to sin.”

And yet Ray Comfort said in Question 44 that God never changes. Ergo, Ray Comfort himself has provided the world is another example of the god-character of the Bible being internally contradictory, and therefore cannot exist. Thereby making this entire book of defending the belief that god is real moot.

76. “How can a perfect God be wrath filled?”

Ray's Answer: A good judge should be furious if an unrepentant mass murderer has raped and viciously taken the lives of a number of innocent teenage girls. If he wasn’t angered, he wouldn’t be a good judge. God is good (morally perfect) and He is therefore greatly angered by evil.”

But if that judge knew that the mass murderer was going to rape and viciously take the lives of a number of innocent teenage girls, and had the ability to stop it (considering that the "judge" has the power to create an entire universe) but did not stop it, means that the judge wanted all that to happen. Which begs the question, if it is wrong and wickedly evil to murder and rape, doesn't that make God just as mad as the criminal?

77. “You can’t compare God with a human judge.”

Ray's Answer: That’s right. God is infinitely more just and holy, and He warns that He will by no means leave the guilty unpunished.” (Source: Exodus 34:7)

Doesn't leave the guilty unpunished... and yet lets liars like Rahab the prostitute to go unpunished and calls them "righteous" according to James 2:25. What did Rahab do? She lied to the authorities at her door that she was hiding fugitives in her house.

In Ray Comfort's book, The School of Biblical Evangelism, on Lesson 13 Ray Comfort wrote the following: "The dictionary defines a lie as a false statement deliberately presented as being true; a falsehood; something intended to deceive or give a wrong impression. People often claim that they have told only a “white lie.” But there is no difference between a white lie, a half-truth, a fib, or an exaggeration. All are lies in the sight of God. How many murders does one have to commit to be a murderer? Just one. In the same way, if they have told even one lie, no matter what color or size, that makes them a liar. The Ninth Commandment requires the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. God is a God of truth and His Law demands absolute honesty from the heart. Yet the human heart is deceitful above all things. It has been well said that taking the easy path is what makes rivers and men crooked."

In summary, there is no grey-area. If you lie or tell a half-truth with discretion to a person for whatever reason, then according to Ray's Christianity, the ultimate judge of the universe deems you guilty punishable by burning in a pit FOREVER, even if you lie to save a life. I guess God must have been furious at Rahab, right? Nope, God did not punish her for lying to the authorities about hiding fugitives. In fact, James called her “righteous” for lying. Likewise, the 12 founders of the 12 tribes of Israel, who all lied to their father about their youngest brother, must've made God furious, right? Apparently God was cool with that, he never punished them, rather he deemed them worthy to become leaders of the Jewish people.

So, either Ray Comfort, the self-proclaimed Christian, is either lying about his God's views towards the 9th Commandment, or Ray is displaying that God is inconsistent. If God hated all lies and wanted to be consistent, then he would have struck down Rahab instead of calling her “righteous.”

78. “God is unfair in that Hitler and a sweet old lady (who never trusted in Jesus) will both go to Hell.”

Ray's Answer: The Bible speaks of degrees of punishment. Everyone will get exactly what they deserve; and this includes those young people who have grown old. Time doesn’t forgive sin.”

There is no “degree” of punishment, the punishment is the same for all those who don't believe. In this case, Hitler the Christian can go to Heaven, whereas the sweet old lady goes to Hell.

79. “My God would never create Hell.”

Ray's Answer: Idolatry is the sin of making up our own god. The God of creation is the One we must face, and He warns that ultimate justice will ultimately be done, no matter what we do or don’t believe.”

Sounds like whoever asked this question was not an atheist.

80. “If God is loving, why would He send people to a place of torment?”

Ray's Answer: A judge may be a loving man, but if he is good he must see that justice is done. However, because of God’s love, His justice was satisfied at the cross so that people could escape Hell.”

An eternal punishment for a finite crime is not "justice" nor is it reasonable or make any sense.

81. “If God doesn’t hear some prayers, how can He be omniscient?”

Ray's Answer: Our sins make a separation between us and God. He resists the proud and gives grace to the humble. Psalm 66:18 says that if I have sin in my heart “the Lord will not hear me.” In other words the ungodly don’t have His ready ear unless they approach Him in humility.”

When a being is omniscient, that is the ability to know literally everything, then it is only logically impossible to be without the knowledge of a prayer and it's contents. This means, for the sake of argument, that if there was a god and it was the god-character of the Bible, then he would know every prayer ever uttered in existence be it humble or not.

In other words: Ray Comfort is wrong, again.

Even if Ray Comfort's supposed god did know about every prayer ever said (which would be the case of an omniscient deity), Ray Comfort is basically saying, "well, my god knows every prayer said eons before they are said, but he willingly decides to ignore them."

There is no other explanation than the corner Ray Comfort and his theology has put himself into. Either his god knows everything and ignores certain prayers, or his god is not all-knowing and misses certain prayers.

82. “I don’t believe God is knowable.”

Ray's Answer: What we “believe” is irrelevant. If we believed that the sun was made of ice, it wouldn’t change reality. Truth is what matters, and the truth is that human beings can come to know God.”

How can one come to know something that does not evidently exist? They cannot. They simply can only believe.

Knowledge is demonstrable, if you cannot show it to any measurable degree, then you do not know it. Ray Comfort, in all his life, has not once shown a shred of evidence of there being a God, which comes to logically follow he cannot know what he is talking about. He is merely pretending he knows as he goes along.

If truth really does matter, if truth is really more important than beliefs, then it would be impossible to be like Ray Comfort -- the man who lies about damn near everything. He lies about the facts of science, particularly the facts of evolution, because facts and truth don't matter to people like him.

83. “If God created the sun on the fourth day, how do you know four days passed?”

Ray's Answer: A “day” is 24 hours. It isn’t dependent on the sun. Alaska doesn’t see the sun for months and yet they still have “days.””

And yet those days are days because the sun exists, otherwise there would not be days. So yes, a day does depend on the sun.

84. “God in the Old Testament murdered thousands of people for insignificant crimes. Someone today who does that is labeled a maniacal psychopath and is locked away.”

Ray's Answer: How do you feel about abortion?”

The God-character of the Bible loves it!

85. “How could God see what He was doing before He created the sun?”

Ray's Answer: The Scriptures say, “Indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You, but the night shines as the day; the darkness and the light are both alike to You” (Psalm 139:12).

Whoever asked this question, in my opinion, needs to try harder and come up with better arguments. I'm giving this one a pass.

86. “Faith is for children; faith that a fat man will visit them once a year and leave presents.”

Ray's Answer: However, that is faith in a non-existent entity. Those who trust in the Living God will never be disappointed.”

Faith in the non-existent "fat man" is the same faith Ray Comfort has for his unproven deity.

Faith and "Trust" is not the same thing. In the previous question, when Ray Comfort says his God can see in the darkness, he is making a knowledge claim. "Trust" is not a knowledge claim. One can hope for anything or place one’s trust in anyone or anything. This is not the same as claiming to know something.

So far, Ray Comfort has yet to demonstrate how he knows anything he talks about a deity he hasn't shown to be real. He might as well put his "trust" in the pink elephants will not shit on his lawn. Sounds silly I know, but it is basically what Ray Comfort does. Whenever he wakes up and goes outside everyday and doesn't see elephant shit on his yard, he says "see, my lawn is clean, so I will continue to put my trust in the pink elephants to not desecrate my lawn." While his lawn may be clean for the rest of his life, he is placing is "trust" in something that has no evidence of existing in the first place. That is how silly and dumb Ray Comfort sounds when he talk about his God without proving his God is real in the first place.

87. “Faith is relative to where you live on the planet.”

Ray's Answer: True. There are millions of Hindus in India and Christians in the United States. However, salvation is a work of God, and God is not restricted to any location. If people in the heart of darkest Africa seek God, He will see to it that they hear the gospel. (Source: “And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13).)

This isn't a great response, we all know that any religious faith can reach out to any country. It wouldn't be surprising if you found a Satanist in Japan or in northern Canada.

But there is a crucial point completely missed: that one person's faith is heavily determined with where you live and who your parents are. That is why in India most people are Hindus, and in the Middle East most are Muslims, and most people in Italy are Catholics.

So the common religious person out there may believe they have the one true faith, but they did not come to that conclusion themselves, they were taught and raised to believe it. Speaking from personal experience, I was raised Christian, and I was always taught Christianity was the true faith, so why bother questioning it or investigating it or looking into other religions because they are by default the false religions?

Likewise, I frequently meet scores of young Jehovah's Witnesses at the local markets. Every single one I have talked to has never read the Bhagavad Gita or ever heard of Lord Krishna (even when a group of Hare Krishna's danced and celebrated nearby). I told them how Lord Krishna, the ultimate god-head where all concepts of god derives from him alone, trumps Yahweh at pretty much everything. For example, in Genesis Yahweh only creates his world and universe, whereas Lord Krishna created not only this universe but every universe seen and unseen (basically, Krishna created the grand multiverse). In other words, God 0 - Krishna
∞.

After a while, I poke several holes into the Jehovah's Witnesses faith (that Ray Comfort can never hope to salvage with petty arguments like banana's and paintings). But what I learned, and more importantly them, they did not become JW's because they considered it for themselves whether it is true or not, they were raised to believe it's true. And to the religious, it is far more important to believe than whether something is true or not, because that is exactly what faith demands - believing in something without evidence, pretending to know something you do not know.

88. “An atheist doesn’t believe that nothing created everything.”

Ray's Answer: “Atheists say that they have “no belief in a god.” If I have a car and have no belief in a maker of the car, it, by default, means that I think that the car made itself—or that no one made it.”

Ray Comfort just gave two options to where his car came from if he did not believe it had a maker, and yet when he applies this to atheists he only gives them one option.

You can be an atheist and accept the universe came from nothing and you can be an atheist and accept the universe always existed.

89. “There is proof of evolution. Have you noticed how children are taller these days? Welcome to observed evolution, change over time.”

Ray's Answer: That isn’t Darwinian evolution. That’s adaptation within the human kind. It has nothing to do with evolution. There has been no change of “kinds.”

Adaptation IS evolution.

So there you have it, another example of the volumes of times Ray Comfort lies about science (and continues to lie about). Adaptation IS evolution in action. Adaptation is what happens when generations of organic beings being exposed to "new conditions to cause any appreciable amount of variation; and that wen the organisation has once begun to vary, it generally continues to vary for many generations." This is why Darwin's Finches are a classic example of Darwin's theory of evolution, because it shows how species of finches adapt to new environments (such as the change of their beaks to reach different areas for food). Over many generations of adapting to new environments and "new conditions" that naturally drive animals to adapt will eventually produce new species that never existed before.

And to make it worse, Ray Comfort knows this. Scores of people have explained this precise fact to him for years, and yet Ray Comfort refuses to acknowledge this fact. He said that this book was meant to show the "teeth" of arguments are not harmful, but Ray Comfort is the equivalent of the Black Knight from Monty Python getting his limbs cut off in fight and saying "it's just a flesh wound" -- that is, all Ray Comfort is doing is denying the teeth chewing away at his faith are really teeth and denying his faith has no legs to stand on (quite literally).

90. “How come Christians don’t stone adulterers anymore?”

Ray's Answer: Why would Christians follow 3,000 year-old Hebrew criminal law? If someone violates American law in America, we prosecute them under American law.”

If 3,000 year old Hebrew laws mean nothing to modern day Christians, then you can throw out the entire 10 Commandments!!!

There is no logical explanation to dismiss 603 of the 613 ancient Hebrew laws, especially when they are ALL believed to be "God's laws." There is no consistency in that whatsoever.

But of course, Ray Comfort would not do that, otherwise he would have to stop using his trump argument, the "Are You a Good Person?" tactic that relies on carefully cherry-picked commandments.

So Ray Comfort, the man who questions why Christians should follow a 3,000 Hebrew Law (despite his ministry hypocritically telling people to obey the 10 Commandments), must not know his Bible very well because Acts 15 shows that no matter which country you're in, you are meant to follow the civil and ceremonial laws of the Old Testament. That basically leaves Ray Comfort (and his ilk) with a choice: either ditch the entire Old Testament, inluding the 10 Commandments, OR accept the whole package, all 613 laws given by Yahweh.

91. “If nothing can come from nothing, your god had to come from somewhere as well.”

Ray's Answer: Not if He was Spirit, eternal, and created the dimension of time. God qualifies for all three.”
If being “eternal” is good enough to answer the origins of things and avoid the problem of “coming from nothing” as if nothing was some sort of default, it's funny how Ray Comfort never listens to atheists when they bring up the universe and/or energy and matter being eternal. Instead, he always asserts that all atheists believe the universe came from nothing, when he knows that is a lie. He has been corrected about it many times, even on live television. In 2005, he had a debate on Nightline with atheists. The atheists objected to (and obliterated) Ray's arguments, pointing out that “if your god can be eternal, then why can't the universe be eternal?” to which Ray has no response. On top of that, the atheists pointed out that Ray was only adding more complexity to answering the origin of the universe, and by that alone Occam's Razor refutes Ray Comfort's argument that there must be a god.

But let's not ignore the rest of Ray's response, where he describes what his god is. Whether he knows it or know, he is digging himself deeper into a hole, because the description of his god provides refutes itself by his own being.

Starting with “Spirit.” What is a spirit? By definition a “spirit” is nonphysical, so a “spiritual god” should have no power—no real power—at all. According to believers, however, whenever God proves his power it is manifested as a physical act in the tangible world: an earthquake, flood, moving star, sun standing still, plague of locust, a sea opening up to let people cross, a voice from a burning bush that Moses could hear, footballs changing their trajectories, and so on. If God is “directing” nature from outside, he is still required to do so in a way that causes ordinary matter to react. There needs to be an energy/mass nexus, or connection, for any work to be done. (Of course, claiming that god is “energy” is to deny that he is “spirit.”) Since we know that an actual infinite mass (not the mathematical “infinite mass” some posit for black holes) would make all life, indeed all existence, impossible, we know that an all-powerful God does not exist, cannot exist. The very idea of existence requires limited power, limited mass, limited energy. Since “spirit” has no power, a powerful spiritual being cannot exist.

Next, Ray Comfort claims his god created time. For the sake of argument, could Ray's god created time? In order for anyone to believe that a god created time, they would have to believe that at one point time did not exist in order for their god to create it.

P1) God is defined as the arbiter of all things, including time;

P2) A decision requires transition from indifferences to will (requires time)

P3) Since time cannot exist prior to its existence, God cannot choose to create time;

P4) If God cannot choose to create time, he is not arbiter of all things;

P5) Therefore, a personal entity cannot be the ultimate arbiter of all things;

P6) Therefore, God as defined is internally inconsistent

C) Therefore, there is no God.

92. “Psalm 137:9 tells you that God will bless you if you bash a child’s head in against a rock.”

Ray's Answer: It says no such thing. The Psalmist was lamenting the terrible cruelty of the Babylonians, praying that God would treat them as they had treated their captives.”

This is the same God who says it's not only okay, but mandatory, to have children sacrifices.

93. “That’s why the world loves Christians. Invade a country with Bibles and fear of Hell.”

Ray's Answer: There is one thing you don’t seem to consider—the reality of Hell. When you find that it does exist, you will suddenly see that we loved you and pleaded with you, and all you did was mock us. And all we can do is keep pleading. We love you and deeply care about where you spend eternity.”
Hell is as much of a reality as is Hades or Munchkin Land.

Ray Comfort is lying when he says “Hell is a real place” or “it does exist.” If you cannot show something, then you don't know it, and when you act like you do know it without knowing it, you are being dishonest. You are lying about it.

94. “You people are being good for a reward. I’m being good because I care about my fellow human beings.”

Ray's Answer: Being a Christian has nothing to do with being good (that’s the deception of “religious” people). We can’t earn eternal life by being good, because we are criminals in God’s eyes. Anything we offer Him in the area of “good” works is in truth an attempt to bribe Him to dismiss our case.”
Even with the core tenet of Christianity being a open get-out-of-jail-free-card, as a Christian you are expected by Christ to abide by certain rules and behaviors to score points for the afterlife.

95. “I’ll wait until I am old, then I’ll get right with God.”

Ray's Answer: You may not get the chance. Jesus told of a man who boasted that he had so many material goods that he would have to build bigger barns. God called the man a fool and death took him that night.”
Old, young, middle-aged, it doesn't matter. You won't be going to a place that does not evidently exist. You are no more likely going to Heaven as going to Avalon or Valhalla.

96. “The Bible is the oral history of bronzeage sheep herders, written down. They really didn’t know much about why things happened. ...Just sit down and read it, start to finish. You will understand better.”

Ray's Answer: The Bible will make sense when you come to know the Author. It is filled with history of an ancient people, but it also tells you how to get everlasting life. You seemed to have missed that part.”
There is no Author of the Bible, there are only Authors.

It was commonly believed that Moses wrote the first five books of the Bible, but we know now that not only was Moses a fictional character who never wrote a single book in the Bible, we know the first five books of the Bible have about four different authors.

We know that the Bible has no single author, given the huge magnitude of discrepancies – a trait you don't see with a single author.

We know that the Bible contains forgeries – books written by people using false identities, with their own biases and agendas.

97. “Many of the predictions of Nostradamus came true. Will you start equating him with divinity?”

Ray's Answer: Nostradamus was a lapsed Jewish Catholic that read his Bible in secret and stole its prophecies, without giving God attribution. Anyone who is ignorant of Bible prophecy will be impressed with the prophecies of Nostradamus. The rest of his ramblings are so nebulous anyone can look down through history and hang anything on them. That’s why Nostradamus is a billion dollar industry.”

"The rest of his ramblings are so nebulous anyone can look down through history and hang anything on them".... except that the Bible's prophecies are just as nebulous as Nostradamus.

There are several mundane ways in which a prediction of the future can be fulfilled:
  1.  Retrodiction. The "prophecy" can be written or modified after the events fulfilling it have already occurred.
  2.  Vagueness. The prophecy can be worded in such a way that people can interpret any outcome as a fulfillment. Nostradomus's prophecies are all of this type. Vagueness works particularly well when people are religiously motivated to believe the prophecies.
  3.  Inevitability. The prophecy can predict something that is almost sure to happen, such as the collapse of a city. Since nothing lasts forever, the city is sure to fall someday. If it has not, it can be said that according to prophecy, it will.
  4.  Denial. One can claim that the fulfilling events occurred even if they have not. Or, more commonly, one can forget that the prophecy was ever made.
  5.  Self-fulfillment. A person can act deliberately to satisfy a known prophecy.
There are no prophecies in the Bible that cannot easily fit into one or more of those categories.

98. “What about the law to stone the woman taken into adultery...is Jesus saying that God is wrong to command that she be stoned.”

Ray's Answer: This woman, who was taken in the very act of adultery, is like each of us. We have been caught in the act of breaking the Ten Commandments, and the moral Law calls for our death. However, God can completely forgive us because Jesus took the wrath of the Law upon Himself. That means we, like the woman, can have our case dismissed. There is no compromise because the Law is satisfied by the suffering of the cross. So take a lesson from the Scriptures. Thank God for His mercy, then like the woman, trust in Jesus, go your way and sin no more.”
If Jesus took the wrath of the law unto himself, he would have been stoned on the spot. Isn't the law of god supposedly eternal? If it is, it never goes away, and therefore adulterers should be killed. But if it is okay for someone to step in and take your punishment, then he should be receiving a on-going barrage of punishments for every human on this planet, but he doesn't. All he did was have one bad weekend, once, and that's all. Afterward, he goes to Heaven.

So now, if we consistently follow the logic of Jesus negating the Ten Commandments, we can therefore sin all we want. Sin is no longer a problem, so long as you believe in Christ. You can commit adultery, multiple times if you like, and despite that God says you should be stoned, Jesus is going to clear you anyway. So if you love sin, be a Christian.

99. “Is infinite punishment the proper response to a finite crime?”

Ray's Answer: We look at eternality in reference to the dimension of time. However, when we die we will pass on into eternity, where there is no time. One act of disobedience in Eden resulted in death and in all the pain and suffering we have seen throughout history. This is a reflection of the perfect holiness of God. Each of us has sinned against Him a multitude of times, the seriousness of which will be seen on Judgment Day.”
Such a piss-poor response to a sharp tooth. Despite Ray Comfort's dismissive response, this is a deep and serious objection to Christianity. But before I get into that, I want to point out to my readers and ask: How is there no time in eternity? We live in a universe where energy and matter are eternal, yet still we have time.

But what if we lived in a world with no time, could we suffer then? Imagine watching a movie about a prisoner being water-boarded. The moment the prisoner is having water poured over his covered face, and he is in agony, pause it. The scene has stopped. There is no time now. There is no before or after, time has stopped. When you look at that scene, do you think “is that guy suffering right now?” The answer to that question would be how can he be in pain, time has stopped. The water poured onto him, and the water in his lungs have frozen in place. Even his lungs are frozen in place. All the neurological signals from his lungs to his brain telling him that he is drowning and in pain, have stopped. His brain and body are frozen in place, he is not receiving any pain, his brain is not processing he is in agony. Everything has been frozen. No thoughts, no feelings, nothing.

How can one suffer in a world with no time? The answer is simply they couldn't. In summary, when Ray Comfort says that we will end up in Hell, it is an empty threat. It is a empty threat for multiple of reasons: there is no evidence for a god, there is no evidence that god will “judge” us, there is no evidence of Hell, and there is no evidence that this realm is eternal with no time.

But back to the original question that Ray Comfort failed to answer: does a finite crime deserve a infinite punishment? The answer is no.

100. “If I’m wrong, I’ll go to Hell and party like a madman in Hell for all eternity. I can’t lose!!”

Ray's Answer: There will be no pleasure in Hell; just thirst, loneliness, fear and pain, forever.”
1. That which can be asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence.

2. Ray Comfort, once again, is pretending to know something he doesn't know. Since knowledge is demonstrable, if he cannot show any of it to any degree of accuracy, then he does not know it. And not once has Ray Comfort in his whole ministry provided proof that Hell is real, let alone the Hell he thinks exists. All he has ever done was cite the Bible, but the Bible is the claim not the evidence. Just as someone who quotes the Koran about there being a Hell, the Koran does not prove there is a Hell, because the Koran is the claim not the proof.

No human has been to Mars (yet), but we know where it is, how far away it is, how big it is, and what it is like on the surface. We have documented Mars for centuries and collected vast amount of data from the red planet for decades. Bottom line, we know Mars is real and what it is like. Where is Ray Comfort's data on Hell even existing? We don't know where it is, how big it is, etc etc, and thus far all we can tell is that Hell is just as fictional as the Isle of Avalon or Hades. What evidence does Ray Comfort have? All he has is a strong conviction that Hell is real, and a ancient book written by superstitious men that describes it as a terrible place. That's it. Sorry, but a Muslim has the same exact materials, but Ray Comfort has nothing to show that his Hell is any more real than the Islam Hell.

But where does the idea of Hell come from? The concept of Hell seems to be an evolution of a basic concept of an underworld from early Hebrew called Sheol and Greek Mythology (Hades/Tarturus), later to be influenced by rabbinic sources then finally Hellenestic philosophy which accumulates in the apocalyptic writings found in the book of Daniel and later in the New Testament writings.

101. “I can sin and cheat and lie and kill as much as I like, but just before I die, I become reborn. My murdered victim is in Hell, but me, just because I said, I want Jesus in my heart, just before they injected me goes to Heaven?”

Ray's Answer: Don’t worry; no innocent person will go to Hell. Instead, be thankful that God is rich in mercy towards guilty sinners like you and me.”
No innocent person will go to Hell, but as the anonymous questioner pointed out, that his victim could end up in Hell. His victim could have been a non-Christian, a false Christian, or even a non-theist. But what about the murderer? As the questioner notes, he could kill whoever he wants and escape justice in this life and the next life just by believing.

A great example of this plan is Ray Comfort himself. If he truly does believe in his own nonsense and that there is a Heaven, he can lie about science and other groups all he likes until just before he dies he can be “reborn” and go to Heaven. Perhaps that explains Ray's chronic pathological drive to lie to everyone he can, he's just exercising his love of sin before dying just to escape punishment.

But there are other examples: Hitler and the 6 million Jews who died in the prison camps. according to the beliefs of most versions of Christianity, Hitler may be basking in heaven today. All he had to do was believe in Jesus during those final moments in his Berlin bunker in 1945 and repent his sins, which included starting a war that left sixty million dead. Unfortunately, by this same reasoning, virtually all of the six million Jewish children, women, and men he had killed are probably suffering in hell right now because it is doubtful that many of them converted to Christianity before their deaths.

102. “Only a sick person would create us as sinners and then threaten us to get better on pain of death.”

Ray's Answer: Tragic though it is that we have inherited a sinful Adamic nature, we are morally responsible for our sins. “Adam made me do it” is no defense in criminal court, and it won’t be a defense on the Day of Judgment.”
We are morally responsible for our sins... no we are not, besides the fact that we have no sins, the entire concept does not make any logical sense.

If you break a law, then you get the penalty. That's how the justice system works. According to the tenets of Christianity, you didn't do a thing. All you did was be born. And now that your alive, you are already damned, and all you have to do is believe and repent. You can break all the laws in the Bible you want, you can disregard the Ten Commandments, you can be still be saved so long as you repent and believe in Christ. That's it. You don't have to be “responsible for your sins” you are only expected to die a believer. That's all.

And according to Christianity, who made us born sinners? That's right, the god-character of the Bible.

103. “Sin was constructed by Christians in order to dominate and control the weak.”

Ray's Answer: It may be true that religion has been used to control the masses; however, the concept of sin wasn’t invented by Christians. “Sin” is just another word for evil, and evil—murder, rape, theft, etc., happens every day.”

Even if the word sin is another word for evil, it was made up entirely by humans and projected as a crime. Just as Scientologists made up the word “thetan” that can be used to explain psychological pain, it is still a made-up word.

But consider this, it is a sin punishable by death according to the Bible to pick up sticks on the Sabbath Day. So picking up sticks on a weekend is "evil"... but owning slaves is okay according to Exodus 20!

104. “God loves you so much He invented Hell just in case you don’t love him back.”

Ray's Answer: It is a crime against God not to love Him with all of our heart, mind, soul, and strength—for who He is and for the gift of life. But ingratitude is only one of the multitude of sins the best of us has.”
So we are slaves to an end. Imagine if you lived in a country were the Prime Leader made it a crime that if you do not love him, the punishment is torture.

Spending eternity trapped in a world of a Bible-god would be a lot like being trapped in the little home of little Anthony Fremont, the creepy kid from the Twilight Zone. If you have never seen that show, there was a little boy who had the powers of God. If he didn't like something you said or THOUGHT, he would either turn you into macabre monstrosity, kill you in some unthinkable fashion, sentence you to a living nightmare that never ends, or banish you to the corn field (an implicitly oblivious place which was never adequately described in the story. If he just showed you a ghastly curse he just put on the cat or your spouse, you would have to show him approval no matter how sick or twisted it was. You had to smile wide and praise him for doing that awful thing, “that's a good thing you did Anthony, a real good thing.” Because if you didn't, if you did not make yourself think nice things about him, he would tighten his lips, widen his eyes and all you could do was hope he kill you quickly.

And this is not a gross mis-characterization of the god-character of the Bible. The Bible says that God/Jesus will punish you for what you think (Ray Comfort loves to trap anyone he meets in public by making them feel guilty for “lusting” after someone, thereby professing that Christianity is a form of thought-policing). And if you did not love and obey Yahweh, he would perform a series of horrendous acts that would make Hannibal Lector look like a lackey. Among those horrendous crimes was forcing parents to eat their own children in at least three books in the Bible, and sending people he doesn't like to a “nightmare that never ends” just like Anthony Fremont.

So whenever a Christian talks about Heaven, that is what they desire, a gleeful desperation to live under the rule of Anthony Fremont. Think about enduring that forever, and think about how bizarre it is to have a desire for that kind of life.

105. “How do you explain the millions of children that He lets perish from starvation?”

Ray's Answer: If you are an atheist, He doesn’t let any children starve to death, because He doesn’t exist. If you believe in evolution it’s simply a matter of survival of the fittest.”
Question dodging, because Ray Comfort would have to explain why his God allows people to starve and thus acknowledge God as the evil one. In the Old Testament, Yahweh makes bread fall from the sky to feed the Jews, and yet with all his self-proclaimed powers he does not end world hunger.

106. “I do not believe in evolution. I do not choose what I believe. I am compelled to believe what I believe by the presentation of evidence which leads only to one logical conclusion. ...That is why we believe it.”

Ray's Answer: Look at your words: “I do not believe...what I believe...what I believe...that’s why we believe.” Evolution is completely faith-based. It’s a belief. Nothing is observable without having to exercise a blind faith.”
Do you believe in gravity? If you answer “yes” does that mean gravity is completely faith-based... or do you know that gravity is real? If you are smart enough to realize that gravity is in fact real, you know that you know this because gravity is a observable fact.

You may answer “no, I accept gravity as a fact” and you would be right to say so, as you can show gravity to be real and you express you accept the facts of reality. Gravity is not a matter of “belief,” meaning no matter of belief will change gravity. Gravity is a fact of reality, you either accept it or you don't.

In the same respect, as the anonymous questioner pointed out, they don't “believe in evolution” they accept the fact of evolution because it corresponds with reality, and reality is real whether you accept it or not. How can one know that the theory of evolution is a fact? Easy.

107. “The Bible is a story book, just like a book of Fairy Tales.”

Ray's Answer: The Bible may look like a book of fairytales—if you deny the supernatural. A right understanding of the power of God opens the door to the normally impossible.”

In other words, the Bible looks like a fairy tale book if you deny magic.

Basically, Ray Comfort says the only way you can accept the fairy tales stories in the Bible is that you also believe that the laws of physics can be broken and that reality is not real. For example, it is physically impossible for a man to fit through the esophagus of a whale that is only a few inches wide, and it is physically impossible to live in a stomach with no oxygen and only methane gas for three days.

An it gets worse, because it we must assume the argument "the Bible only makes sense if you accept the supernatural" then you've opened a new can of worms, because if we accept that the supernatural events in the Bible are true, then where do we stop after that? Are we to believe the reports of Herodotus the an entire village saw a mass resurrection of cooked fish?

If Ray Comfort wanted us to accept the Bible, he would have to show us that the supernatural is a real thing other than “make-believe.” No one has ever seen a complex life-form magically pop out of thin air, but that's exactly what creationist are arguing for! Talismans, incantations, elemental component spells, enchantments, clairvoyance, and prophecies all consistently fail every test.

To confirm this, James “the Amazing” Randi, a former Las Vegas illusionist well-versed in the angles used in supernatural pseudoscience has for ten years offered a million-dollar prize for anyone who can show testable evidence of the things we should expect would also be true if there were ethereal entities influencing things with molecular structures. In that time, he has exposed a few frauds. But to date, no one has ever produced any actual evidence for faith-healing, telepaths, psionics, precognitive psychic friends with astral bodies, pat life remembrance, or spectral manifestations of any kind. So where is there any field of study or accurate fact positively promoting the supernatural or a anthropomorphic immortal on par with the power of a genie who a guy named Jesus Christ calls “father”?

Another example, it is physically impossible that the whole Earth was covered in a flood. To deny that fact is to deny reality. There is not enough water on the planet to flood itself, there is no geological record of it ever happening, and so on.

108. “What if I ask God to reveal Himself and it turns out to be Allah?”

Ray's Answer: Then you are in bigger trouble, because Islam also believes in Hell, but they have no Savior.”
Ray Comfort must live in a small bubble, Muslims make it very clear that Muhammad the prophet came to save us from Hell.

109. “The Bible is rife with historical inaccuracies.”

Ray's Answer: To provide evidence for such a claim you will need to have faith in history books that were written by fallible men. The Bible was written by men who were inspired by an infallible God, and so it is 100% historically accurate. Not believing the Scriptures doesn’t change that fact.”
Projection in action. Here Ray Comfort acknowledges that having “faith” in books is a bad thing that discredits your position. Who knew?

Do we have faith in history? No.

Is the Bible 100% historically accurate. The answer is a overwhelming No. But before going into details, I must point out that being even remotely historically accurate does not mean the entire content of a story is therefore true. For example, Homer's Odyssey tells of real lands, real islands, real historic kings and kingdoms... are we therefore to conclude that cyclopses and goddesses are real? Of course not.

So what did the Bible get wrong about history?
The Earth did not begin as a body of water.
The Earth did not exist before stars.
Water did not exist before stars.
The Earth is not older than the Sun.
Birds did not exist before the land animals.
There was no Adam and Eve.
There was no Tower of Babel.
There was no world-wide flood, nor was there an Ark carrying every animal.
There was no Exodus.
Moses is not a historical figure.
Joshua did not bring down the walls of Jericho, the reality is archeological data shows the walls were destroyed over 300 years before Joshua arrived.
Joshua did not conquer Canaan.
David or Solomon did not rule over a vast empire as recorded.
There was no grand census at the time of Herod.
The historical evidence for Jesus is severely lacking.
There is no evidence that the sky darkened for hours after the death of Christ, if he ever existed.

110. “If God created cancer, He is bad.”

Ray's Answer: If God created cancer, then He is real and you have to face Him on Judgment Day, guilty of a multitude of crimes against His Law. You will be on trial on that Day, not God.”
Being on trial by a bad god who created cancer. Would you trust a judge who manufactured a new and powerful biological weapon and killed millions of people with it? If that judge was to judge you, would you accept him as a fair judge, would you accept the judgment of a genocidal murderer on how moral you are?

111. “How do I know God exists?”

Ray's Answer: There are at least two evidences. One is creation. It is scientifically impossible for Nature to create itself. The second is your conscience. God has given you moral knowledge of right and wrong. It is shaped by society, but given to you by your Creator, so you are without excuse for your crimes against His Law.”
Where is the evidence that we live in a “Creation”? Ray Comfort only presumes we live in a creation without providing evidence that we in fact do.

There are other options to explain the universe than “Nature creating itself,” how about if matter and energy always existed?

Conscience is a evolutionary trait, not a tool bestowed by a god.

112. “It sounds like the God of the Ten Commandments is jealous and angry.”

Ray's Answer: His “jealousy” is not a sinful human jealousy. His attributes and ways are always in perfect righteousness.”

So "jealousy" can be a good thing? Jealousy is okay so long as its a god who is jealous?

How does that seem logical or fair? That's like saying human exercising trust is bad but a god exercising trust is okay.

113. “The Bible is simply outdated.”

Ray's Answer: While it is filled with ancient laws that God gave to the Hebrew nation, it tells tomorrow’s news before it happens. See Matthew 24, Luke 21, 1 Timothy 4, 2 Timothy 3 for some examples.”
As always, I cannot avoid pointing out to my readers that 1 Timothy and 2 Timothy are forgeries, meaning they were never written by Paul and we know they weren't.

What are these future events?
Matthew 24 is about Christ coming back, as well as crying woefully for women who are pregnant in the end days. It also says the sun will be become dark and the moon will not longer give light and the stars will fall from the heaven. Jesus says to those listening to him that “this generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.”
Ugh, hello!? The sun never darkened, the moon is still shining, and the stars are still in the sky, and Jesus never came back. The generation that Jesus said would “not pass” until all the things be fulfilled passed!

Luke 21 generally says the same, it just adds earthquakes, pestilence, famines and wars.

114. “I don’t hate God. I just don’t believe He exists.”

Ray's Answer: There is no greater contempt that you can have for another person than to, in their presence, deny that they exist.”
By that logic, do my readers have great contempt for Sherlock Holmes and James Moriarty?

Ray Comfort, nor anyone, is in the "Presence" of that which does not evidently exist. Claiming we are in the presence of an entity that  has as much evidence as a unicorn is, in the end, meaningless.

115. “Christians are mean-spirited and I reckon about as far away from what Jesus seemed to be about as you could get.”

Ray's Answer: Jesus spoke of sin, God’s perfect righteousness, and of the existence of Hell. He said the world would hate Him because He accused them of sin, and that they would hate Christians because they belonged to Him. You are guilty of making up your own Jesus (something the Bible calls “idolatry”).”

Randall Terry, founder of Operation Rescue, an organization for intimidating abortion providers. ‘When I, or people like me, are running the country, you’d better flee, because we will find you, we will try you, and we will execute you. I mean every word of it. I will make it part of my mission to see to it that they are tried and executed.’ Terry was here referring to doctors who provide abortions, and his Christian inspiration is clearly shown by one more of his statements, ‘I want you to just let a wave of intolerance wash over you. I want you to let a wave of hatred wash over you. Yes, hate is good…Our goal is a Christian nation. We have a Biblical duty, we are called by God, to conquer this country. We don’t want equal time. We don’t want pluralism. Our goal must be simple. We must have a Christian nation built on God’s law, on the Ten Commandments. No apologies.’ This ambition to achieve what can only be a Christian fascist state is entirely typical of the American Taliban; it is almost an exact mirror image of the Islamic fascist state so ardently sought by many people in other parts of the world.

Now I know that not all Christians think like this. Most are kind and gentle and understanding. What bothers me about them is where they devote their lives to, that they think the atrocities of god are "signs of love and righteousness."

116. “What about goosebumps? What is their function?”

Ray's Answer: Perhaps you could believe that Goosebumps are evolutionary evidence we evolved from geese. In truth, they close up the skin so that it retains warmth.”

117. “Jews laugh at Christianity.”

Ray's Answer: The disciples were Jewish. The first 13,000 converts were Jewish, Christianity was birthed in the land of the Jews, the New Testament was written by Jews, and we accept the Jewish Old Testament as the Word of God. Any Jew who believes their God-breathed Scriptures will embrace Jesus of Nazareth as their promised Messiah.”

The disciples, if they existed, were either deceived or deceivers. This was around the same time were dozens of Jewish cults were popping up in response to Roman control over Jerusalem, many Messiahs were presented during this time. These Messiahs claimed to be divine, they were reported to have healed the sick or even pass through walls. Were their followers genuine, or were they deceived, or were did they know it was a lie and tried to deceive others?

As for the authors of the New Testament, they were written in Greek, not Hebrew. And there is evidence that the earliest gospels were likely not written by Jews, given the severe lack of knowledge of the geography and Jewish traditions and laws.

Will any Jew who believes in the Old Testament embrace Jesus? Certainly not, considering that even if Jesus really existed, he failed miserably to fulfill any of the prophecies and requirements to be the Messiah.

118. Atheist: “Ray’s site has sure revealed why the U.S. is behind in education. Religion keeps you dumb, that’s for sure.”

Ray's Answer: a. Christian: “They don’t teach ‘religion’ in schools anymore....They teach evolution.””

Evolution is a scientific fact like gravity and atoms. Evolution is not a religion. This pathetic creationist argument that evolution is somehow a religion has even been refuted in the courts!
Assuming for the purposes of argument, however, that evolution is a religion or religious tenet, the remedy is to stop the teaching of evolution, not establish another religion in opposition to it. Yet it is clearly established in the case law, and perhaps also in common sense, that evolution is not a religion and that teaching evolution does not violate the Establishment Clause.
The court cases Epperson v. Arkansas, Willoughby v. Stever, and Wright v. Houston Indep. School Dist.

119. “I allowed God to come into my life for 20 straight years—20 years was long enough, time is up. I’m not a bad person nor am I a sinner.”

Ray's Answer: A false convert makes a profession of faith with no knowledge of sin, and because they didn’t repent they didn’t come to know the Lord. Most fall away from their church in time. Others stay, and will be sorted out on Judgment Day.”

You cannot “know” that which does not exist, that which you only create in your own head.

Religion is highly personal for some believers, and it can be pervasive in every aspect of their lives. Cultural norms are heavily influenced by religious beliefs and practices, and many religions place a heavy focus on a person's individual relationship with a deity. Even people who are not otherwise affiliated with organized religions may feel strongly about their personal relationship with God.

The problem with using these personal relationships as proof of God's existence is that they are inherently subjective experiences. A person's experience and the emotions it causes can be genuine without the cause of that experience being based on anything outside of his or her mind.

120. “You have to love everyone to get into Heaven, but then you have to hate everyone to get into Heaven. There are flaws....flaws, everywhere!!”

Ray's Answer: No one will get to Heaven by loving anyone or everyone. Eternal life is a free gift of God. Nothing we do can earn it. There are no flaws. The Bible often uses “hyperbole,” by contrasting love and hate, for emphasis.”

There is a single requirement to get into Heaven, according to Christianity. Even the most hateful person, as Ray Comfort here expresses, can get into Heaven.

That requirement is belief. Comfort may go into specifics on what that means, but at the core of accepting salvation, you have to believe it is real to start with. And that is all it takes. According to Christianity, two criminals were killed next to Jesus' crucifixion, and only one of them accept Jesus, and only that one went to Heaven. In other words, it doesn't matter how awful or hateful or how despicable you were, Jesus is just your get-out-jail-free card.

121. “Do you believe your way is the only way into Heaven?”

Ray's Answer: It’s not my way. Jesus is the One who said that no one can get to God but through Him. While we may be confused as to which (of all the different denominations) is right, God knows those that love Him. Those that love him obey Him by trusting in the Savior He provided, and they are the ones that will be in Heaven.”

That is a great expression of conviction, but this is not a sufficient answer on how he knows a single word of this is true.

First of all, he does not even know if there is an afterlife, let alone a Heaven instead of Avalon, Valhalla, or if you'll just wake up and discover this whole experience was just you in a 20-minute Matrix simulation designed to seem like a lifetime.

Ignoring for the moment that the afterlife hasn't been proven, and therefore it is rather pointless to ask what the requirements are for getting to a mystical realm that has yet to be proven real, let's consider if Ray's way is even remotely close. The Jews believe that the first Commandment, “I am the Lord thy God, though shall not have any other gods before me.” So no gods before the Lord, and yet this guy named Jesus comes along as says, “wait, no, if you want to get to the Father, you have to go through me.” So Jesus puts himself before the Lord, thereby breaking the Lord's very first Commandment.

122. “Which is the right God?”

Ray's Answer: There is only one Creator—that’s the One who gave Moses the Ten Commandments, the One who provided the only Savior—the One who can save you from a very real Hell. Jesus said, “If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself ” (John 7:17). Do the will of God—repent and trust in Jesus, and you will know the truth. (Source: See John 8:31–21.)

The real question is “is there a God?” This is the question that Ray Comfort has tried and failed to answer throughout his ministry.

Furthermore, Moses is not a real historical character. What Ray is essentially telling us to accept that there is a god based on a story of that god giving some rules to a fictional character.
123. “If there is a Judgment Day, my good deeds will eliminate the bad deeds.”

Ray's Answer: That doesn’t even work in a court of law, and it won’t work on Judgment Day. If a criminal has committed a very serious crime, his good deeds will not wash away his crimes, and our sins against God are so serious they warrant the death sentence.”

This is the perhaps the most evil doctrine of Christianity, good people do not deserve anything but to be tortured. Even under the doctrines of Christianity, even Ghandi is burning in Hell merely because he never accepted Jesus.

Good and evil deeds don't matter, the only criteria that gets people into Heaven is belief, that's it.

124. “Over 30,000 denominations of the Christian church and not one can agree with the other!”

Ray's Answer: Most of those denominations agree on the basic tenants of the Christian faith. Only on non-essential doctrines there is disagreement. However, it’s human nature to disagree about almost everything. I’m sure you would agree with that.”

And yet Ray Comfort refuses to call Catholics “Christians,” even though Catholics believe in God, Jesus, Mary, the Bible, the Resurrection, the Trinity, Heaven and Hell, and so on... the very same "basic tenants" of the Christian faith that Ray Comfort also accepts. So it only logically follows that Catholics are Christians, but Ray Comfort rejects that notion, hereby contradicting himself.

125. “Hell doesn’t exist. Sorry for bursting your bubble.”

Ray's Answer: When did you get knowledge of the afterlife? Do you have connections with the other side? The truth is that you don’t know what happens after someone dies, and you could know, if you believed the Bible. It is appointed to man once to die, and after this the Judgment.”

No one knows what happens after death, especially Ray Comfort. Here he only pretends to know, but he doesn't have any knowledge of the afterlife, only a belief. And he admits it: “if you believed the Bible.” Sorry, but mere beliefs do not make stories in books real. Anyone could believe the tales of King Arthur, but that does not mean there really is a realm called Avalon.

126. “Why pray? Who are you to ask God to alter His plans?”

Ray's Answer: It is a mystery that God would condescend to use the prayers of humble men and women to shape the destiny of humanity, but that doesn’t change the fact that He does. We speak to Him through prayer, and He speaks to us through His Word, the Bible.”

This doesn't address the point at hand: asking God to alter his plans. This is the God who knows everything, the God with the grand plan for everything. But as humans praying to God, if their prayers go against what God has planned, they are demanding the Creator to alter his plans. Quite arrogant and selfish, but  regardless the plan of the almighty wont change, so why bother praying? On the other hand, if their prayers correspond with the Creator's plans, again why bother praying since what you prayed for is going to happen anyway?

In summary, prayer makes absolutely no sense. On top of prayer being senseless, you can get the same exact results by praying to a milk jug or your left shoe (you'll either get a "yes" or "no" or "later").

127. “Pascal’s wager is a flawed argument, thoroughly debunked.”

Ray's Answer: It is impossible to debunk Pascal’s famous wager. He simply said that the Bible says that if you come to Christ you gain everlasting life. If you don’t, you end up in Hell. By becoming a Christian you can’t lose. If you are right you gain everlasting life, and if you are wrong and there’s no afterlife, you won’t even know it. So it’s a win/win situation for the Christian and lose/lose situation for the ungodly.”

“It is impossible to debunk Pascal's famous wager,”... I have. Read my blog post Tackling Pascal's Wager

And I'm not the only one.

Pascal's Wager breaks down for several important reasons. First, it's important to realize that the wager does nothing to prove the nature of God. It's not an argument for the existence of god at all, actually; it’s an argument against atheism based on the relative opportunity versus cost of belief.

Second, you must recognize the limitations of Pascal's premise. As a Christian apologist, his argument works only for the Christian God. It ignores the possibility of any other deity and assumes that the motives of God are consistent with the teachings of basic Christian theology. Viewed in the context of world religions, the wager falls apart completely. The wager is based on the mathematical analysis of four outcomes. However, if you throw the multitude of world religions into the equation, the premises and mathematical analysis becomes much more complex and convoluted, making your chances of a successful wager significantly slimmer.

Pascal’s wager assumes a very narrow and specific definition of God. Even if there were a god, there is simply no way to know that the assumptions laid out in the wager are actually accurate. For example, why would an all-powerful and benevolent deity banish his creations to Hell for disbelief? It’s equally likely that a deity might reward his followers for being skeptical, in which case Pascal’s wager crumbles.

128. “We’ve just discovered that the universe is actually 50 million years older than we thought. Oh. And it’s also possible that we’ll be able to explain what there was BEFORE the Big Bang. Here’s a clue, it wasn’t a dude with flowing robes, a fluffy white beard and a questionable set of morals.”

Ray's Answer: I don’t know why you are saying “We’ve” just discovered. What you mean is “They’ve” just discovered, and you have faith in whatever “They” say. You are an unquestioning and faithful believer. And you are right. It wasn’t a dude with a fluffy white beard.”

When a engineer makes a more accurate tool to take a better camera, do you just "have faith" they made a better camera? Or do you really need a demonstration that the camera on your phone is more accurate with better resolution than a camera from the 1940's?

The beauty is that you can ask for a demonstration to see the difference in quality of a modern camera and a old camera, but you can also ask to see science behind why the age of the universe has been updated by X amount of years. That's what science does, as our methods of collecting data improve, so does knowledge of the universe become more accurate.

129. “People have been waiting for Judgment Day since the introduction of Christianity.”

Ray's Answer: The Bible predicts that skeptics would say this, and they do so because they don’t know that God created time and dwells outside of its dimension. The Bibles says a day to the Lord is a thousand years to us. He is patiently waiting, not willing that any perish, but that all come to repentance. (Source: 2 Peter 3:8,9)

So we disprove God just based on his own definition.

And again, I have to point out that 2 Peter is a forgery.

130. “I’ve never sinned.”

Ray's Answer: One of you is lying—it’s either you or God, and the Scriptures say that it is impossible for God to lie. (Source: See Hebrews 6:18) Romans 3:23 says “all” have sinned.”

Of course the religious hustlers who worship an unproven made-up god they invented would say their god cannot lie, and they don't have to do a thing to prove it.

But the crux of the matter is the truth: no one has sinned. Sin is a made up crime for an made up belief.

Just as no one has any alien thetans in them, because thetans are made up defects from a made up belief called Scientology.

131. “I was raised in an Atheist family. I was unaware of Christianity until I went to school. Doesn’t that show that God is not always there for people?”

Ray's Answer: God is “always there,” but He’s not the world’s Divine Butler. He doesn’t come running when we click our fingers. The Bible says that if you seek Him with all of your heart, you will find Him.(Source: Jeremiah 29:13) Why should you seek Him?—Because He is the source of everlasting life, and yours is running out by the minute.”

Why seek that which does not evidently exist? That is like seeking after Zeus on top of Mt. Olympus in Greece.

132. “While you religious nuts are using your hands to pray for starving children, I use mine to actually feed them at the food pantry.”

Ray's Answer: I think you may be misjudging a lot of people with that remark. Christian organizations like World Vision (and many others) feed and clothe millions around the world. There are hundreds, if not thousands of Christian rescue missions that every day feed, clothe, and house the poor.”

While it is true that millions of Christians do help those in need, the point of the matter is that prayer helps no one.

133. “You can’t prove God is real.”

Ray's Answer: Creation is proof that there is a Creator. It is impossible for Nature to have made itself. However, God will prove Himself to you in the same way you can prove electricity is real. If you don’t believe in it, put a fork into a live light socket. The Bible says that you will receive “power” when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. (See Acts 1:8) God will give you the shock of your life, if you obey Him. Read John 14:21.”

Where is the proof that we live in a “Creation”? This is the one question that Ray Comfort hates because he cannot answer it. At best, he says “it's just common sense.” Sorry, that is not an answer.

Is it impossible for a universe to make itself? Who says it made itself, instead of just being an eternal universe in constant motion?

Can God be proven like electricity? The answer is “no.” Electricity is more than a “feeling” you get when doing something stupid with a outlet and silverware. Electricity can be stored, calculated, moved, and more. This empirical knowledge of the existence of electricity cannot be done when it comes to “God.”

A God who is responsible for the complex structure of the world, especially living things, fails to agree with empirical fact that this structure can be understood to arise from simple natural processes and shows none of the expected signs of design. Indeed, the universe looks as it should look in the absence of design.

A God who miraculously and supernaturally created the universe fails to agree with the empirical fact that no violations of physical law were required to produce the universe, its laws, or its existence rather than nonexistence. It also fails to agree with established theories, based on empirical facts, which indicate that the universe began with maximum entropy and so bears no imprint of a creator.

134. “You are just talking to some imaginary Friend.”

Ray's Answer: That is true for a proud atheist who tries prayer. The Bible says that God will not hear your prayers because your sins separate you from Him.(See Isaiah 59:1) The proud do talk to the ceiling, because God not some imaginary Friend, but a very real enemy.(See Colossians 1:21) That’s the teaching of Scripture.”

It is true to the atheist and the theist, for the lack of evidence of any god goes to show that all who believe and pray to a unproven god just have imaginary friends.

135. “Hitler was undoubtedly a Christian.”

Ray's Answer: Hitler said, “Our epoch will certainly see the end of the disease of Christianity,” (Hitler’s Table Talk, pg 343–344) “Christianity is the worst of the regressions that mankind can ever have undergone,”(Hitler’s Table Talk, pg 322) “The heaviest blow that ever struck humanity was the coming of Christianity.”(Hitler’s Table Talk, pg 7) Adolf Hitler was a lapsed Roman Catholic, who hated Christianity. He knew that there was a difference, but for some reason atheists say they don’t, revealing their willful ignorance of the Scriptures.”
Those who deny Hitler as a Christian will invariably find the recorded "Table Talk" conversations of Hitler from 1941 to 1944 as incontrovertible evidence that he could not have been a Christian. The source usually comes from the English translation (from a French translation) edition by Norman Cameron and R. H. Stevens, with an introduction by H.R. Trevor-Roper.

The problem with these anti-Christian quotes from the Table Talk is that the German text of the table-talk does not include them, they were made up by François Genoud, the translator of the French version, the very version that English translations rely on!

136. “Is the Bible literally true?”

Ray's Answer: All of Scripture is inspired by God.(See 2 Timothy 3:16) Some parts are literal, some figurative. When Jesus said that He is the door He didn’t mean a literal door with hinges, but that He is the way of entry into Heaven.(See John 10:7–9)”

2 Timothy is a forgery. Quite ironic that a book that proclaims to be the "truth" inspired by the one god managed to get a series of forgers (i.e. liars) to write their own material into his book.

137. “Science is presented with new evidence that changes. You will continue to justify the same old story despite the evidence.”

Ray's Answer: Truth doesn’t change. Error does. What evolutionary believers believe now, will change in the future and then it will change again. They can never know anything for certain.”

If we remained fix in old models, humanity may still accept the Earth is the center of the solar system.

With new discoveries and new evidences being revealed daily, our current models of how the universe works must change, AND THAT'S A GOOD THING. It means we learn.

And just because science changes when new evidence is presented, does not mean we do not know anything now. Right now, we do know things that are simple facts of nature, such as ducks are birds and humans are apes.

138. “The Bible explains nothing. It still leaves you with the infinite creation loop regress.”

Ray's Answer: The Bible explains everything—from our origins, our purpose, our destiny, to why there is death and suffering, and how to find everlasting life. However, these truths are hidden from the proud heart.(See Luke 10:21)”

Answering a mystery with another mystery ultimately answers nothing.

139. “I guarantee all you so called God—believers go to a doctor if you get cancer, heart problems, kidney disease, etc. If you truly believed you would pray and expect Him to heal you.”

Ray's Answer: Of course we pray, and we go to doctors. The two are not mutually exclusive. The Bible says that the prayer of faith will save the sick (See James 5:15) and that having a merry heart (being happy) does good “like a medicine.”(See Proverbs 17:22) Medicine is good.”

Again misses the point: the failure of prayer.

Does "prayer of faith will save the sick" as Ray Comfort says while citing James? The answer is NO, another testament to the failure of the Bible.

Studies have failed to find any evidence for benefits from prayer that cannot be ruled out as either the placebo effect or a form of cognitive behavioural therapy. In fact, the most comprehensive study performed thus far found that hospital patients who were prayed for suffered more complications than otherwise.

140. “We are primates.”

Ray's Answer: You may think and act like an animal, but that doesn’t change the fact that God holds you morally accountable and you have to face Him on Judgment Day, whether you believe in Him or not.”
It is a fact that humans are primates and animals, just as it is a fact that humans are mammals. This fact was well known even during time of Aristotle who called humans “rational animals.”

What is NOT a fact is there being a God, and it is NOT a fact under Christianity that the God of the Bible holds anyone morally accountable for anything. Matthew 5:19, Jesus says anyone who ignores those old commandments will be called least in Heaven. So you will still go to Heaven, you just have to fly coach. You're still supposed to follow those old creepy Jewish laws, including the one having to murder anyone who works on weekends and the one that instructs you to sell your daughter to the one who rapes her first. But you will still be forgiven even if you don't – even if you eat at Red Lobster while wearing nylon-polyester blend. It does not matter how good or bad you are, love your sin all you want. Graded on a curve, how can anyone of you be called least in Heaven? What sin can you commit that would be worthy of damnation? You can break 612 commandments out of the whole list of 613.

So believers can be as vile as they wish – it doesn't matter. Atheists can be the most moral people ever – it doesn't matter. Morality and accountability does not matter. Gullibility is the only criteria required for redemption.

141. “There is a strong correlation between religious belief and a lower intelligence level though.”

Ray's Answer: That’s a matter of perspective. We are not the ones who believe that we are talking primates (“We admit that we are like apes, but we seldom realize that we are apes.” Richard Dawkins, A Devil’s Chaplain: Reflections on Hope, Lies, Science, and Love) and are cousins of bananas (“It is a plain truth that we are cousins of chimpanzees, somewhat more distant cousins of monkeys, more distant cousins still of aardvarks and manatees, yet more distant cousins of bananas and turnips … continue the list as long as desired.” Richard Dawkins, The Greatest Show on Earth: The Evidence for Evolution) (as atheist, Richard Dawkins, believes).”
The irony of this part is that Ray Comfort demonstrates the anonymous questioner correct that religious belief leads to low level of intelligence.
Denying that humans are primates is just as insane as denying that lions are cats or eagles are birds. You share more traits in common with your siblings than you do with your cousins due to the recent ancestors you share with them, your parents. Deeper down, you share more in common with those in your extended family than you do with neighbors and classmates, etc., people you don’t recognize as part of your biological family. But you must realize that on some level you’re still related. Deeper down, one could likely recognize subtle indications of cultural demes which most people will still agree all descend from one common ancestral lineage –despite their current apparent diversity and unfamiliar ways.

Deeper down, we've seen that new breeds of barnyard birds, domestic pets, livestock, corn, even bananas have to some degree been engineered by human intervention via artificial selection, and new sub-species have occurred in the wild via natural selection. In both cases, these stem from common ancestry, be that hundreds of breeds of dogs coming from one strain of wolves, or dozens of commercial bovines being derived from the now-extinct European Aurochs.

All these reveal that life is a fluid dynamic producing new and subtle variation with every descendant. But evolution only occurs when new alleles are spread throughout a given community. This is where selection comes into play, because the parent gene pool actually does more to inhibit new aberrations than to promote them. A smaller gene pool is much easier to influence. So what you usually get are more significant changes emerging in smaller colonies that have been genetically isolated from the main population. Eventually, they may get to the point where the two groups are distinct, where a trait now held in common by every member of one group is not shared by any member of the other group. This is known as a subspecies, or “breed”. If the two groups resume interbreeding, then all that may meld together again as if it had never been. But if they’re isolated long enough, they will continue to drift further apart both physically and genetically until it becomes difficult to interbreed at all anymore. Eventually they’ll only be able to sire infertile hybrids, if they can still produce anything living. At the point when two sexually-reproductive populations can no longer interbreed with viable offspring, then they have become two different species.

This is the most significant level in the whole of phylogenetics –when the daughter strain is now unrestrained by the once-dominant parent gene pool, and is therefore free to express an even greater variance thus continually widening the gap between them. This is a practical parallel of what creationists call the addition of new “information”. Speciation is the only taxonomic division which is genetically significant, and it is the only one that can be objectively determined.

142. “Save your prayers, I’m quite comfortable with myself in my own faith and comfortable enough to know if God exists, the God who created this beautiful star, he won’t be the God of the Bible or any other man made religion on this planet. No loving God would brutally slaughter every man, woman and child of this planet in the Great Flood, pregnant women drowning at the bottom of the ocean, children screaming for help as the crushing waves devour them, just because a few people ticked him off. He wouldn’t be the tyrannical dictator of the Old Testament. Of that I am sure.”

Ray's Answer: Your “image” of a loving god is even more tyrannical, because if he created us, he coldly stands back and lets millions starve, allows rape and murder—and lets Hitler slaughter six million Jews. He gives no explanation, refuses to bring justice to the wicked, and leaves us all hopeless in the face of death. However, the God of the Bible will bring final justice to all evil, and in His great kindness offers everlasting life to guilty sinners.”

Ray Comfort's particular god-concept view of justice represents the height of irresponsibility and injustice. His chosen religion has us born as reprobates, guilty before we've taken a single breath, responsible for things we've never done. It offers instant, undeserved, forgiveness for the most horrible of crimes and punishes people whose only "crime" is disbelief - forever. It advocates slavery, denigrates women, curses homosexuals, orders the stoning of unruly children, sanctions wars of extermination, condones human sacrifice and poisons every mind it touches. It includes only one unforgivable crime: disbelief. Is that just?

This "justice" he so admires, is no such thing. It is divine edict, arbitrary, capricious and ultimately unjust and immoral.

Yes, I realize that there "are pedophiles out there who have escaped our flawed justice system?" Do you realize that your system says that they're all eligible for an eternal paradise? How does that address your objection? Under the rules of Christianity, the pedophile who escapes justice here can also escape your ultimate justice. Under the rules of Christianity, he may live forever in paradise while someone who spent their entire life doing good, helping others and contributing in a generally positive way to the one-and-only life we're sure to get, is ultimately judged unworthy of that reward.

Don't kid yourself. You haven't accepted a cosmic sense of justice that alleviates the problem - you've accepted one that you believe alleviates the problem FOR YOU. It is a selfish justification that shows no regard for real matters of justice. It is the height of arrogance and your desire to feel special because "someone up there" thinks you're special. Well, according to the paradigm you advocate, he thinks that *anyone* willing to worship him is special - with no regard for justice or character.

Go, read Romans. No one makes this point clearer than Paul. The "law" was established with full knowledge that no one would be able to fulfill it, it was established to demonstrate this inability and damn us further - and then a loophole was established to let some people through, regardless of their standing with the law.
Your religion has made you a slave. It has made you uncaring. It has made you support immorality and injustice while claiming that arbitrary edicts and loopholes count as either. It is a reprehensible lie that poisons the mind and prevents you from understanding reality.

143. “He who can look into the eyes of a crack addicted baby, a newborn with horrible birth defects, a newborn riddled with cancer, or a newborn who will probably die before it recognizes what life is, and say ‘It’s God’s plan’ or ‘God works in mysterious ways,’ or just think that it’s perfectly fine, is a truly disgusting person, and doesn’t deserve to be a part of society.”

Ray's Answer: All human suffering and death are the result of the Genesis Fall. What we see on earth isn’t God’s perfect will. It is His permissive will. However, the day will come when God’s will, will be done on earth, as it is in Heaven. Don’t miss out on being part of the eternal kingdom, because it certainly is coming as Jesus said it would. You and I don’t deserve to be part of that kingdom, but God says we may.”

What we have here isn't God's perfect will..... thus implying that a perfect being has an imperfect will? That makes no logical sense.

Furthermore, the Genesis story is a made-up myth, which means that it is not an answer to why there is suffering and death.

Oh, and one more thing: there is no historical evidence of Jesus ever being real, so therefore...

144. “What is ‘sin’”?

Ray's Answer: It is the breaking of God’s moral Law—the Ten Commandments. (See 1 John 3:4)”

What is sin.... a made up crime for a made up law.

Until you can meet the burden of proof that there is a god and the Bible has any validity than any other sacred book, then talking about sin is rather pointless.

And dear readers, bear in mind, it is NOT a sin to own a slave according to God. It is NOT a sin to kill or steal so long as you do it for God (for example in Luke 19 the disciples literally steal a donkey for Jesus to ride into Jerusalem. They didn't ask or tell the owner, they didn't leave any money, nor promised to return the animal. It was theft.) The point is, a "sinful" act does not mean it is a "immoral" act.

145. “Why did God let the talking serpent into the garden of Eden knowing what he would do?”

Ray's Answer: No one can answer that but God. Make peace with Him and if you ask in humility, He may reveal it to you. In the meanwhile, don’t end up in Hell being punished for your many sins, just because this bothers you.”

In other words, “fuck if I know, just pick my religion or you are damned. Don't worry about me not being able to answer you, even though I wrote this book with the sole intention to answer all your "complex" questions.”

Whoever wrote this question was totally on the mark: it makes no logical sense that a omniscient being with a "good" plan to build a world and then deliberately create a serpent that he knew would be the mechanism that would bring about sin and the Fall of the world.

146. “Why did God not smite Lucifer for his betrayal when He so easily smote so many others for far lesser crimes?”

Ray's Answer: What you consider lesser crimes were apparently not.”
The Bible says a man was put to death for picking up sticks on the Sabbath. Picking up sticks.

And this man deserves to be killed on the spot, whereas a fallen angel openly rebelling and becoming the Prince of Evil does not?

147. “A God of unconditional love would NEVER put conditions on that love. Hell is a condition.”

Ray's Answer: The “god” you don’t believe in doesn’t exist. It’s called “idolatry” when you make up false gods (a violation of the First Commandment). Nowhere does the Bible say that God has “unconditional” love. He is a God of justice and holiness, and you have to face Him on Judgment Day whether or not you believe in Him. Hell is not a “condition.” It’s a very real place of punishment.”

This is another issue that divides Christians through disagreement. When you go to sites like GotQuestions.org, they straight up say that "God's love is unconditional." However, the Bible never uses the word "unconditional" and Jesus always say things like "if you love me, then you will obey me." Using the words like "if" and "then" imply that "unless you do X," which means that conditions are set in place.

And to kick the dead horse even more: there is no evidence that Hell is a real place, no more real than Hades, Avalon, or Munchkin Land.

148. “Why does God command that infants should be dashed upon the rocks”? (See Psalm 137:9)

Ray's Answer: He doesn’t. The Babylonians, who conquered and enslaved Israel, were very cruel, and apparently they killed infants in such a way. The Psalmist is understandably seeking vengeance, and doesn’t even mention God when he says, “O daughter of Babylon, who are to be destroyed, happy the one who repays you as you have served us! Happy the one who takes and dashes your little ones against the rock!””

Bear in mind that this is the same God who
1) is the ultimate abortionist
2) killed all the first-born children of Egypt
3) demanded human sacrifice multiple times, even children
4) deliberately sent female bears to eat 42 children

Pointing out a neighboring nation who killed children doesn't help your case in defending a belief in a deity who kills children constantly.
149. “Bottom line—when you declare you have faith in something—you are literally proclaiming you have no evidence, but choose to believe anyways.”

Ray's Answer: I have faith in my wife, and it’s based on the evidence of knowing her for years. She is impeccably trustworthy. It’s even more so when it comes to trusting God. Bottom line—we have thousands of years of His faithfulness, laid out for us in the Scriptures.”

You don't have faith in your wife, for one it can be empirically proven that she is real. The same cannot be said for Ray's god.

Ancient sacred texts don't prove any deity real, otherwise by that logic, the one and only gods would be that of Hinduism – the oldest practicing religion on Earth, with the sacred texts, the Vedas, dating back thousands of years before Judaism ever existed.

150. “If someone suddenly, and without a shadow of a doubt, disproved your God today, would you go out and start raping and pillaging?”

Ray's Answer: I certainly hope not. However, we have rape and pillaging, murder, and a whole lot of evil happening in society because many people either believe God doesn’t exist or they think that He won’t punish them.”

Ray didn't answer the question. He only wished no one could disprove his god (which would ruin his ministry of selling god), he did not answer whether he would commit horrible acts if he realized that his god is not real.

But what we can take from this piece is that Ray admits that bad people do bad things regardless if the believe in a god or don't.

But is god necessary for morality. World statistics all show a correlation, where strong religious beliefs are dominant, the worse their off.

151. “Spiritualty and religion was first expressed in India.”

Ray's Answer: Spirituality was first expressed when God created Adam and Eve, in the beginning. They talked with the Spirit of God face to face. (See Genesis 1–3.)

Adam and Eve are fictional characters.

It is been proven that it is genetically impossible for the entire human species to derive from a single couple. There is no evidence of any genetic bottleneck, esp. in the pre-Pleistocene era where humans first appeared (Source: Hawks, J. et al. (2000). Population Bottlenecks and Pleistocene Human Evolution. Mol. Biol. Evol. 17: 2–22.). Rather the facts are that humans evolved from a population, not a couple.
152. “Impaled on a cross as an expression of love? How is that not twisted and masochistic?”

Ray's Answer: Only those who understand that they have violated God’s Law can appreciate the fine being paid on their behalf.”

Humans are no more in violation of God's law as they are of breaking the laws of Zoroaster or the code of Hammurabi. For one, there is no evidence of a god being real, thereby cannot be in violation of a non-existent law.

Second, it is twisted in fact considering that the almighty powerful creator of the universe who makes the rules however he pleases simply cannot, through the power of love and mercy, just "forgive" his creation that he created and knew for the start (thanks to his omniscience) would become corrupted. But no, this almighty god demands a blood sacrifice of his own son/himself in order to create a loophole.... come on people!!! He's God, he could have just rewrote the rules! Avoid the pain and death. What kind of a "loving" parent tortures their child and then kill them in order to forgive the children around the neighborhood?

Or is God just powerless and cannot rewrite his own rules? If he cannot rewrite the rules, then he is not God.

153. “He who looks into the eyes of a newborn baby and says that child is evil and born of sin and will go to Hell if not baptized is seriously mentally ill.”

Ray's Answer: You are confused. The Bible doesn’t say anywhere (or even hint) that if a newborn baby isn’t baptized, it goes to Hell.”

But it DOES say that all are born in sin, and are thus evil and wicked by nature (skip ahead to where Ray Comfort admits this in Question 157). And that is the point, the Abrahamic faiths are inherently cruel and twisted.

154. “I don’t hate God. I just don’t believe He exists.”

Ray's Answer: Such is the way of many cultures that if a son or daughter marries out of the faith or does something of which they strongly disagree, in the parent’s minds, they no longer exist. There is no greater contempt for a person than to so hate them they don’t exist in your mind.”

Non-belief can also be a result of... non-belief. It is that simple.

I don't believe in unicorns or mermaids, but that does not mean that I hate them in the slightest. By Ray's logic, he must hate Allah and Buddha so much that he thinks they do not exist in his mind.

155. “Christianity is a guilt trip!”

Ray's Answer: Which of the Ten Commandments makes you feel guilty, and why?”

None of them. I am completely guilt free when it comes to the Ten Commandments (btw, the ONLY time in the entire Old Testament they are called the "Ten Commandments" are in Exodus 34)

156. “Someone you love more than life itself dies and goes to Hell, and you die shortly after and go to Heaven. Is it truly Heaven without that person beside you?”

Ray's Answer: Heaven is a location, not a mere state of mind. God is the Creator of all things. With Him, nothing is impossible, and He says that He will give pleasure forevermore. Not believing that doesn’t change reality.”

And simply believing does not change reality. Millions of Muslims truly believe they are going to Paradise, and millions of Hindus believe they will be reincarnated, but beliefs do not change reality.

Furthermore, if nothing is impossible with God.... can he create a suit of armor so hard he cannot break it?

So according to Ray Comfort, in Heaven you are pleased so much that you somehow forget that the love of your life is being tormented non-stop? How fucking twisted is that?

What makes it even more twisted is that Christians like Adolf Hitler can go to Heaven whereas all the 6,000,000 Jews he killed who did not accept Jesus go to Hell.

157. “Why should I be punished for something some woman ages ago did?”

Ray's Answer: Although you have inherited a sinful nature from Adam and Eve, you are morally responsible to God for your actions. That defense wouldn’t work in a court of law, and neither will it work on Judgment Day.”

Every time Ray Comfort says, I am always reminded that this is the guy who made a (grossly stupid) anti-abortion film. When he goes around interviewing people of their stance and opinions on abortion, when one guy who argues in favor of abortion because the father might have been a rapist, Ray Comfort replies with (and I am not kidding), "why would you punish the child for crimes of the father?"

So if we follow Ray Comfort's anti-abortion logic to the Bible, it makes no sense to punish the descendants of a person who committed a crime. But don't count on Ray Comfort being logical or consistent.

158. “Atheists do not have faith that a God does not exist, we are just asking for the evidence that a God exists.”

Ray's Answer: Creation is evidence for the existence of God. It is scientifically impossible for nature to make itself. See Romans 1:20–24. You are without excuse now and will be on Judgment Day, if you are without a Savior.”

Ray Comfort never presents any evidence that we live in a "creation" he only presumes we live in a creation.

Ray Comfort never presents any evidence why it is "scientifically impossible for nature to make itself," all the while physicists like Stephen Hawking say that "because there is a law such as gravity, the universe can and will make itself out of nothing."

Citing a sacred book and then saying "you are without excuse" is not an argument. This argument is no more valid than quoting the Qur'an and revealing the "primordial Covenant" in 7:172-174: "''When thy Lord drew forth from the Children of Adam -from their loins- their descendants, and made them testify concerning themselves, (saying): "Am I not your Lord (Who cherishes and sustains you)?" They said: "Yea! We do testify!: (This), lest ye should say on the Day of Judgment: "Of this we were never mindful;" or lest ye should say: Our fathers before us took false gods.''

Basically, according to Islam, Allah created us and made us testify that he does indeed exist and he created us right before we take human flesh upon birth, therefore while we live we know Allah exists, and when we die we cannot claim ignorance of him or give any excuse for not believing in him.

159. “Even if the Universe did have a supernatural or natural creator, it is not proof that such a creator is anything like the one portrayed in the Bible.”

Ray's Answer: That’s true. But your problem is that the God of the Bible is the only one who provided a Savior. Without Jesus Christ you will die in your sins and end up in a terrible place called Hell. No religion or effort on your part can save you from Eternal Justice.”

If you acknowledge that the possibility, as Ray Comfort just did, that the universe did have a creator and that creator does not have to be the creator of the Bible, that does not mean that a "Savior" is the deciding factor of what or who the "creator" really is. The creator could be Brahma, and all your death will lead to a reincarnation, no savior necessary.

If you admit the possibility that the "creator" (for the sake of argument of there being one) may not be your god, then you have the responsibility to prove your god over any other possible god. Rather, all Ray Comfort does is just openly and blatantly assert and presuppose that his God is the real God, no argument necessary, and then warns us of a upcoming trial and punishment which he never proves is coming.

160. “I am full of life and happiness. My family brings me joy, among other things. I love living in the here and now, and being accountable to my fellow humans.”

Ray's Answer: Everything you love is temporal. It will one day be ripped from your hands by death. That could be today—and that’s not some sort of scare tactic; it is reality.”

This is not an argument for a god(s), this is just an appeal for one. We all die, but that only proves we die.

161. “Suppose the Muslim hell is the real one. Then YOU lose.”

Ray's Answer: Muslims aren’t fools. They know the Creator exists because of the order of Nature and the existence of the human conscience. They also know that Hell exists, but they have no Savior to avoid it. God provided a Savior for all of humanity. He said that “whoever” trusts in Him will be saved. This is truly good news for the whole world.”

Nobody "knows" whether a Creator or a Hell exist, they only believe they exist. If they did know it, then by definition they could demonstrate what they know. But they never do because they cannot, because they only believe these things are real. But beliefs don't change reality. If you cannot show it, then you don't know it.

162. “Atheists are free-thinkers.”

Ray's Answer: Anyone who believes that nothing created everything isn’t a free-thinker. He is free from thinking. The Bible calls him a “fool” (see Psalm 14:1).”
How can one not be a free-thinker and accept the sciences of relativity, gravity, and physics?
http://www.hawking.org.uk/the-origin-of-the-universe.html

Of course the Bible would call non-believers things like "fools." Its the old playground game of “I am rubber you are glue, whatever bounces off of me sticks to you.” Its an infantile tactic that is described as the pot calling the silverware black. Its a sort of psychological spin. How else can you defend an indefensible position? You have to twist everything around. That is why the Bible defines the fool as someone who does not believe completely the outrageous claims from the most incredulous sources even without asking for evidence – despite the fact that every other source in the world defines a fool as someone who does all of these things.

So the plain simple reality is, the only fools here are Ray Comfort and his ilk.

163. “If God wants us all to follow and worship Him, why didn’t He create us as such?”

Ray's Answer: When He created Adam and Eve, they were without sin. But when they disobeyed God, sin entered their hearts and then passed it on to their offspring. When you are born again (See John 3:1–5) God makes you a new creation. (See 2 Corinthians 5:17)”

Adam and Eve are fictional characters, and sin is a made up defect.

With that being said, it still does not make any logical sense for a "perfect" being to create an imperfect creation, and then deliberately create the mechanism (the serpent and the forbidden cursed tree) that would mess up the entire thing.

Why rationality is there to follow a creator (arguing for the sake of argument of there being one) that planned for his creation and all humanity to fail and become corrupted, blame it on his creation, and punish us for simply being born human?

164. “Believers are supposed to live humble lives, not lives filled with smart phones, laptops, big houses, nice clothes and fancy cars.”

Ray's Answer: A Christian can be humble and be rich. There is nothing wrong with money. Rather the Bible warns that the love of money (not money) is the root of all kinds of evil. (See 1Timothy 6:10) In Scripture, those who are rich are told to use their wealth for good. (See 1Timothy 6:17)”

First of all, 1 Timothy is a forgery.

Second, wasn't there a important guy in the New Testament who said you can't serve both god and money?

165. “He who sees the eyes of a child beaten and molested while his God watched is a seriously sick person for believing in a God.”

Ray's Answer: It is thoughtless to jump to the conclusion that nothing created everything, simply because God doesn’t immediately punish evil. If He intervened and had Judgment Day today, where would you stand under the light of moral perfection? God is holding back from punishing child molesters, rapists, adulterers, fornicators, homosexuals, those who lust, hate, lie, steal and covet, because He is rich in mercy and willing to forgive all who repent and trust in Jesus. (See 2 Peter 3:9)”

2 Peter is also a forgery.

It is thoughtless to jump to any conclusion without thinking. What's worse that than, the anti-thinking Ray engages in, where he flat out denies scientific facts that correspond with reality in order to continue holding onto his beliefs. To Ray Comfort, reality is wrong, and his fantasy is true.

And under Ray Comfort's fantasy "Judgment Day", the very judge he believes will judge us, is the judge that believes slavery and human sacrifice is "moral perfection."

So Ray Comfort believes God is "holding back" from punishing the wicked. Let me ask my readers, if you saw a rapist about to have his way with a little child, would you just "hold back" and wait it out, or would you do whatever you could to save the child and stop the crime?

166. “We’ll leave you alone as soon as you realize not everyone shares the same beliefs and keep your beliefs in your homes and churches where they belong…none of us have the right to impose our beliefs on each other. The human race will be in a much better place when religious people learn this.”

Ray's Answer: We won’t be keeping the gospel to ourselves, our homes, or our churches. We are going to use every medium possible to shout the message of everlasting life from the housetops. We’re coming at you to tell you that eternal life is the free gift of God—and that no one needs to end up in Hell—including you. We deeply care about you and where you spend eternity, even if you don’t.”
Statistics show that religion is declining in America, as well as globally and non-belief is on the rise. To be fair, the only “religion” that is rising is Islam whereas Christianity is dying.

167. “If Christianity worked, you would not be seeing the emergence of the age of reason... but you are witnessing its birth.”

Ray's Answer: Atheism—the age of reason? It is leading us back into the dark ages—of talking primates, we are made of stardust, we are cousins of bananas, believing in walking whales, spinning through space on a planet made by nothing for no reason at all.”
It is a fact we are primates. The atoms of our bodies were created in stars via fusion. All life on Earth has evolved, it is proven that whales were once walking land animals. Earth is spinning through space, but for specific physical reasons such as gravity.

If atheism is leading us to some sort of “age” that acknowledges the facts of reality, then it is at it's core a rational one. Ray Comfort on the other hand is openly denying reality, for it is more important to him to “believe” than accept that which is true.

168. “God murdered millions.”

Ray's Answer: God never “murders” anyone. He is a righteous Judge, and you have been given the death sentence (along with every other human being). However, He’s rich in mercy and offers you a reprieve. Take it or leave it—life or death, Heaven or Hell.”
It is true God did not murder anyone, then again neither did Darth Vader. Fictional characters that do not evidently exist cannot murder anyone.

As far as the stories go, Darth Vader and God are massive cold serial murderers. Does God get a free pass for killing people? Even if a “righteous” judge took a life, does that mean it is not “murder”?

169. “I do not fear death, in view of the fact that I had been dead for billions and billions of years before I was born, and had not suffered the slightest inconvenience from it. None of us are eternal. Make most of the here and now, or throw away the joys this world offers in this fleeting time we have in existence for the false promise of eternal bliss.”

Ray's Answer: Why did you say “billions and billions”? Why not “trillions and trillions”? I will tell you why. Because what you meant was that you were “eternally” dead, but you dare not use the word “eternal” because it has connotations of you-know-Who.”
Eternity does not have connotations with anything fictional, whether it is Lord Krishna, magic, intergalactic transcending pixies, or any god. Oceans are real, water is a real, but that does not mean Poseidon is real.

Words used to describe an object have no effect on the nature of the object itself, nor do words used to describe an object make the object real. For example, “the unicorn has one horn on it's head and can run as fast as a sports car.” I just described a unicorn, but that does not mean the unicorn therefore exists.

When imagined in other terms, it becomes clear how fallacious the argument “God is eternal” or “God is a energy” really is:

“God is my pet cat.
My cat exists.
Therefore, God exists.

All this serves to prove is that my cat's name is God. It does not imbue God the Cat with any of the qualities people assign to deities: omniscience, omnipotence, benevolence or having supernatural abilities. Thus, calling my cat God is meaningless in terms of defining and proving the existence of a deity. The same is true for “God is eternal” or “God is energy” or any other similar claim.

170. “The only thing that disappoints me about the lack of afterlife is that you loons will never even have that moment where you realize you were wrong all along. I almost wish you would, and I’d love to be there to see it!”

Ray's Answer: We don’t think the same of you. When you find out that God is morally perfect and that Hell is real, there won’t be anything in us that says “We told you so.” We’re horrified at the thought of you facing absolute justice and being justly damned forever.”

171. “Have you ever heard of someone who grew a limb? No… why does God always cure the easy stuff that the body can do on its own?”

Ray's Answer: Have you ever heard of God growing hair on bald heads, making short people tall, replacing knocked out teeth, or making fat people skinny? I’m sure you haven’t. How could you then leap over logic and reason, and say that He doesn’t exist because you haven’t seen Him do such things?”
Have you seen a horse give birth to a rabbit? Have you seen a sacred olive tree burned down and then grow an arm's length in a single day? The ancient Greeks did, according to Herodotus the Halicarnassian. Fifty years after the Persian Wars ended in 479 BCE Herodotus asked numerous eyewitnesses and their children about the things that happened in those years and then wrote a book about it. Though he often shows a critical and skeptical mind, sometimes naming his sources or even questioning their reliability when he has suspicious or conflicting accounts, he nevertheless reports without a hint of doubt that the sacred olive tree of Athens, though burned by the Persians, grew an arm's length in a single day; a miraculous flood-tide wiped out an entire Persian contingent after they desecrated an image of Poseidon; a horse gave birth to a rabbit; and a whole town witnesses a mass resurrection of cooked fish!

Granted some may object and say that Herodotus interviewed the locals and wrote it down 50 years after the event... but remember the earliest gospel, Mark, was written by a non-witness at the earliest 45 years after the death of Jesus (if he existed). Frankly, for all the reasons you can give to doubt the reports of Herodotus, any rational person can do the same with the gospel authors.

Anyway, if we follow Ray's argument and replace a few words, this is what I looks like: how could you then leap over logic and reason, and say that Athena and Poseidon don’t exist because you haven’t seen them do such things like regrowing an olive branch or flooding a whole contingent? Maybe Poseidon caused the havoc upon New Orleans.

172. “The biggest loser is he who lives in fear of an imaginary punishment and in hope of an imaginary reward, instead of appreciating that this is the only life we have.”

Ray's Answer: You are convinced that this one life is the only life we have. You no doubt have based this on the knowledge that when someone dies it’s all over because there is no life in the body. This is because the life has left the body. There is no brain activity because it is the life that gives the brain its activity.”
The only certainty that we have is that we have this one life to live. A God who has given humans immortal souls fails to agree with the empirical facts that human memories and personalities are determined by physical processes, that no nonphysical or extraphysical powers of the mind can be found, and that no evidence exists for an afterlife.

173. “Why do Christian women still have period pains and childbirth pains if Jesus died for their sins?”

Ray's Answer: Christians will be under the Genesis curse right up until the time when God removes it from creation. When Jesus suffered and died for our sins, He purchased our redemption. When God’s Kingdom comes to this earth and God’s will is done on this earth as it is in Heaven, we will take custody of the purchased possession.”
The only way childbirth pains will go away is either the female pelvis is modified or the human head shrunk.

174. “Lack of faith is insulting to God—sounds extremely petty.”

Ray's Answer: I don’t believe for one minute any word you say. You are not a trustworthy person. I lack faith in you because you lack the virtue of faithfulness. (See 1 John 1:10 and 1 John 5:10)”
When a person is put on the stand and says that they swear to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth... do we assume they are always going to tell the truth? I think it is safe to say that every reader reading this will answer “No” and they would be correct.

You do not lack “faith” in a person, because you can at least prove the person actually exists and is real. If you find that person untrustworthy, you only lack trust in that person. Trust and faith are not synonymous.

“Promise,”“confidence,”“trust,” and “hope” are not knowledge claims. One can hope for anything or place one’s trust in anyone or anything . This is not the same as claiming to know something. To hope for something admits there’s a possibility that what you want may not be realized. For example, if you trust your stock broker that your stock will rise tomorrow, you are not claiming to know your stock will rise; you want your stock to rise, but you recognize there’s a possibility it may not. Desire is not certainty but the wish for an outcome.

175. “If there was an omnipotent Supreme Being, why would He use such a fallible device of communication—a book written by men, selected by men? Why not just communicate directly?”

Ray's Answer: God did communicate directly with human beings. When He gave the Ten Commandments, the nation of Israel was so fearful that they thought they would die. He has chosen to give us His written Word telling us how to find everlasting life, and we are to simply do what it says.”
Ugh, the story goes when God did give the Commandments, the Jews were killed. 3,000 of them. Because Moses killed them, he said God orders them to be put to death. Not only that, Moses smashed the tables, went back up the mountain, and came back down in Exodus 34 with a new set of tablets (the only time they are called the "Ten Commandments.")

But the question still stands: why wont the all-powerful creator just communicate directly to everyone? Why does he always talk to people in secret, like only Moses on top of a mountain?

176. “A whale was found with atavistic hind limbs of over 4 feet long. This makes perfect sense according to an evolutionary framework. Please explain how it makes any sense according to creationism.”

Ray's Answer: Do an Internet search for “photos of extra limbs” and you will find lambs with eight legs, people with four legs, three arms, etc. They have nothing to do with evolution and neither does a whale that has extra limbs.”
Extra limbs and atavisms are different things.

177. “The only thing you can say about all atheists is that they all lack belief in gods.”

Ray's Answer: There are many atheists around the world who don’t embrace your carefully worded modern definition. They simply say “I believe that there is no God.” Your cut-and-paste movement only started a few years ago. But you are still connected to the old “I believe” atheists. If I have a car and say “I lack belief in makers,” it means I believe that cars have no makers—and my car therefore had no maker. It means that I believe that nothing made it. So, carefully worded though your modern definition may be, it still leaves you believing the scientifically impossible—that nothing made everything.”
The atheist movement of the present is not “cut-an-paste,” it is revealing the simplest and strictest definition of what an atheist is, because for the longest time the majority of people did not understand what an atheist even is. They would confuse it with agnosticism, or nihilism, and in many Christian circles with Satanism. The confusion of what an atheist is was so widespread that even famous skeptics who expressed non-belief in gods distanced themselves from using that word.

If you lack belief that your car has a maker, that does not mean you think “nothing” made the car.

178. “Why is it that God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah but had no problem with Adam, Eve and their two sons basically procreating the world?”

Ray's Answer: Adam and Eve obviously had more children. Two men cannot procreate.”

So Adam's sons mated with their sisters. In other words, Genesis is the result of a huge incestuous gang-bang (twice when you also count Noah and his family).

In summary, the god-character of the Bible has no problem with incest, which is even more evident after the survivor of Sodom and Gomorrah, Lot, escapes with his daughters and later haves sex with both of them.

179. “Why is it that God gives AIDS to kids in Africa?”

Ray's Answer: As an atheist, God didn’t give them AIDS because He doesn’t exist. Always keep that in mind when you blame Him for things when you don’t believe He exists. If He did commit the crimes you accuse Him of, then He exists and you have to face him on Judgment Day.”
Question dodging. People are capable of asking hypothetical questions without believing they are real. Like this, “in Justice League Crime for Justice, why did they put Prometheus’s (the villain) helmet back on, when it is the source of his power?”

Atheists don't believe in any god, that's a given, and therefore indeed they don't believe AIDS were the workings of a god. But that's not the point. Since Ray Comfort is the one who does believe in a God, it is on him to answer the question directed at his belief in God. In this case, Ray Comfort believes that God gives AIDS to children in Africa, and the anonymous questioner wants to know why that is. Instead of answering this question, Ray Comfort re-directs the attention to the questioner.

180. “Jesus asked Himself if this cup could pass him by. He didn’t listen to Himself.”

Ray's Answer: When the Creator and Upholder of the Universe made a human body and filled that body as a hand fills a glove (Jesus was “the express image of the invisible God” (See Hebrews 1:1–3, John 1:1–12.)) He didn’t cease to be the omnipotent Creator and Upholder of all things. Jesus was fully Man and fully God, but in the incarnation He was limited to time, space, hunger, thirst, all so that He could suffer the pain of death (See Hebrews 2:9), to save us from Eternal Justice.”
So he is still the same person, just reduced to a limited being... but still does not know himself? How can that be?

Listen to the question posted, they point out that Jesus was talking to, supposedly, himself and did not listen. For clarity, this is regarding the prayer scene in Gethsemane, where Jesus prays and talks to God and begs God to remove the “cup.” Jesus says that he not wills it, but that “you” (God) wills it. That does not make any sense whatsoever if Jesus and God are the same person.

181. “Please explain why I should get down on my knees and start pleasing an immoral, judgmental, childish, inferior, insecure, genocidal maniac God!”

Ray's Answer: You are the one who is immoral, judgmental, childish, inferior, insecure, self-righteous, blasphemous and godless—with the ultimate delusion of grandeur in thinking that you can stand in moral judgment over Almighty God. You need to look closely at your own sins in the light of the Ten Commandments.”
Even the anonymous questioner was the most openly immoral of all humans that ever existed, that would not negate the fact that the god-character of the Bible is a immoral, judgmental, childish, inferior, genocidal maniac.

A simple understanding of the acts and deeds of the god-character of the Bible reveals that his profile matches the description of the questioner.

Now given that it has been established that the god-character of the Bible matches the description.

182. “God is evil, so I don’t really care if I offend Him. He offends me.”

Ray's Answer: As an atheist are you saying that He’s real? Check out Romans 8:7 for why He is offensive to you. (“Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be” (Romans 8:7).) It will show you your core motive.”
Voldemort is evil. And I don't care if my existence as a Muggle angers him. He angers me, because he is a immoral monster.

Darth Vader is evil. And I don't care if I offend him by rejecting his twisted and sinister ideology by embracing freedom and democracy. He can bite me.

Hannibal Lector is evil. Need I say more?

By Ray Comfort's logic, I must therefore believe that each of these fictional men are real. I obviously don't.

It is not difficult to recognize and acknowledge the wicked evilness of fictional characters without believing they are real. Darth Vader killed children and destroyed planets, but I don't believe those planets or those children or even the villain are real. I merely recognize that killing innocent children and destroying worlds are simply evil, which therefore makes Darth Vader a evil character.

All Ray Comfort is doing is deflecting.

183. “I’d love to see the creationists response when we do finally make some or other form of life. The day is coming.... science, you gotta love it.”

Ray's Answer: All the combined brains of our most intelligent scientists haven’t a clue how to even begin to make one grain of sand from nothing, let alone create the utter complexity of even one cell of organic life. It is comparatively simple to recreate, using God’s existing materials, but we can’t make the simplest thing from nothing. Such utter human powerlessness reveals the intellectual embarrassment of atheism.”

Ray Comfort is either a dimwit or he is just looking for filler for this page to make this book as long as possible to be even considered a book. Personally, I think it is a combination of both, for Ray Comfort is motivated by money and is the man who thought dog's were “designed” because they “fit perfectly” into his car. No, I am not making that last part up.

How does one jump from the search for extraterrestrial life to creating matter from nothing?

184. “I’m looking forward to joining Abraham Lincoln, Mark Twain, Charles Darwin, Bill Gates, and Albert Einstein in Hell, while you can be with Adolph Hitler. LOL. If only it was true.”

Ray's Answer: None of the above were atheists. Not even Hitler. Hitler was a Roman Catholic, who used God for political gain. The rest were theists. Einstein didn’t believe in a “personal” God, and hated it when he was called an atheist.”

Einstein was a pantheist, not a theist. He rejected a personal god. Hitler was a Christian. Abraham Lincoln and Mark Twain may or may not have been Christians, but the point still remains. Great men like these who rejected Christ are in Hell whereas evil men like Hitler go to Heaven.

185. “I can be a good person without God.”

Ray's Answer: Anyone of us can be good without God. All we need is a very low standard of goodness. There are 46 dictionary definitions of “good” from which to choose. The word “good” in God’s Book, however, means moral perfection, in thought, word and in deed. That’s the high standard of goodness that we be will judged by on Judgment Day (whether you believe in God or not).”

The same book says it is good to abort a child if the wife was unfaithful (Numbers 5). Is that the moral perfection? The same book says you can own another human being as  property as a slave. Is that moral perfection?

186. “I can kill someone, but just before I die, I become reborn. But the person I killed will end up in Hell. How is that justice?

Ray's Answer: God will do that which is right. You need not concern yourself with who He saves, or who He damns. Just make sure you are right with Him yourself.”

Ray cannot even answer the clear cut criteria his own religion sets up. Criminals like the thief crucified next to Jesus could go to Heaven if he accepts him, whereas the criminal also crucified next to Jesus who didn't accept him could not enter Heaven.

So the answer is yes, if you kill someone and then repent, you can go to Heaven, whereas the person you killed gets tortured forever.

187. “I don’t know how anyone can tell me with a straight face that an all-forgiving, all-loving, compassionate God would condemn anyone to eternal pain and agony in the bowels of Hell for eternity just for the actions of a mere 90 years on this planet.”

Ray's Answer: The Bible doesn’t say that God is allforgiving and all-loving. You are creating an “idol”—making up a false god in your mind. God is holy and just as well as loving and merciful. His love is seen in that He gave you the gift of life. His mercy is seen in allowing you to sin against Him. But if you refuse to repent and end up dying in your sins, He will give you absolute justice, and that’s a fearful thing. Damnation means forever being damned from all the pleasures He lavished upon you, for which you were so unthankful.”

188. “You can accept both evolution and God. They’re not incompatible.”

Ray's Answer: God made Adam in His image. (Genesis 1:27) Neither God nor Adam was an ape. Jesus

said, “In the beginning God made them “male and female.” He didn’t make them as primordial soup. (http://leiwenwu.tripod.com/primordials.htm)”
If Adam was a human, then by definition he was an ape. For Ray Comfort to deny that Adam was an ape, he must deny that Adam was human, for it is impossible for a human to not be an ape – just as it is impossible for a lion to not be a cat. For the exact same reasons why lions are cats, ducks are birds, humans are apes.

189. “My conscience is clear because I follow some practices of Buddhism.”

Ray's Answer: A rapist can tell the judge that his conscience is clear because, in his mind, the woman he raped asked for it by her provocative dress. A clear conscience isn’t the issue. On Judgment Day forgiveness of sins is the only thing that will matter. It will be the difference between innocent or guilty, life or death, Heaven or Hell. Forgiveness of sins can only come through the cross.”
Did the questioner rape anyone? No. Is the questioner guilty of rape? No.

Is the questioner guilty of breaking God's laws? No.
Why? Because there are no “God's laws” because there is no evidence that a God is even real.

The questioner is as guilty of breaking God's laws as they are guilty of violating the laws of Voldemort. Even if the questioner was guilty on multiple accounts of breaking the laws of the villain Voldemort, so what? It's a fictional character and fictional laws, and therefore means nothing. The same is for the unproven tenets of Christianity, it all means nothing.

190. “Pray for us and we will think for you!”

Ray's Answer: That’s all we are trying to get you to do. Think. Think about your eternal salvation. Think about the genius of God’s creative hand. Think about your sins. Think about the Savior and what He did on the cross.”

Think about how not once in Ray Comfort's career has he ever proved one of these things. He has never proven to the world that there is a god, a hereafter, sin and that we need salvation. He loves to talk about what his Savior has done for humanity, but he cannot even prove that his Savior was a historical person.

191. “Isaiah 7:14: ‘Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.’ Christians say that this verse is a prophecy of Jesus’ birth to a virgin. Virgin in this verse is a mistranslation of the Hebrew word almah, which actually means ‘young woman.’”

Ray's Answer: You say that miraculous sign was that “a young woman” would give birth. How could that be a “sign” from God? Billions of young women have given birth. The sign was that a virgin would conceive. That’s a sign.”
You missed the point, there was never a prophecy that a virgin would give birth. On top of that, there is no proof that Mary, if she really existed, was a virgin.

192. “I have no faith. Please do not try and bring me down to that level.”

Ray's Answer: So you have no one you trust. I guess you are insecure. You even sound paranoid. Paranoid people refuse to trust people or things. They live in fear. They have no faith in banks, the police, planes or elevators. Paranoid: “Exhibiting or characterized by extreme and irrational fear or distrust of others.”
Apistevist – someone who rejects faith.

I am a proud apistevist.

Faith and trust are two different things. Ray Comfort is saying you can not step onto an airplane unless I had faith that it would land safely. That does not make any sense because I know the plane exists. I can prove that it does. I know some things about the safety ratings on aircraft and I can check my sources to be sure they are fairly reliable. I can also prove that banks and elevators are real, and show how reliable they are.

But how can I be expected to trust things that which can't be verified and are told by people which frequently cannot be trusted? Ray Comfort has shown himself time and time again to be very untrustworthy. But what about the common person? I cannot trust the preacher, or even the President (which when I was a boy was Richard Nixon – and maybe that is why I never recognized any authority as being unquestionable – and that includes all the worlds religious tomes while all claim divine inspiration from a host of gods that cannot all exist at the same time).

Each of my science books said “this is why we think this, this is how we figured it out, and this is what we still don't know.” That I can trust, and it inspires me to contribute. Conversely religious books claim to already know everything we will ever need to know, even though they have never explained anything and you are forbidden to question them – instead you should believe them without suspicion simply because they said so, even when they have already been proven wrong. This is why the word “confidence man” describes the criminal swindler. Such people should not be trusted. When it is ever wise to believe someone without question? And that is what “faith” demands.

faith /fāTH/
1. Belief without evidence.

If one had sufficient evidence to warrant belief in a particular claim, then one wouldn’t believe the claim on the basis of faith. “Faith” is the word one uses when one does not have enough evidence to justify holding a belief, but when one just goes ahead and believes anyway.

faith /fāTH/
2. Pretending to know things you don’t know.

Not everything that’s a case of pretending to know things you don’t know is a case of faith, but cases of faith are instances of pretending to know something you don’t know. For example, someone who knows nothing about baking a cake can pretend to know how to bake a cake, and this is not an instance of faith. But if someone claims to know something on the basis of faith, they are pretending to know something they don’t know. For example, using faith would be like someone giving advice about baking cookies who has never been in a kitchen. In the religious context, the preacher makes a living of telling you things that he pretends to know. When a preacher says to a sick person “Jesus will heal you.” He doesn't say “I hope or trust Jesus will heal you,” no he explicitly says a 2,000 year old dead person, if there ever was person, will heal the sickness. He is making a knowledge claim, “Jesus will heal you.” The preacher says other things he cannot know, such as “Jesus walked on water” and “God is perfect.”

193. “I went to church four days ago. I liked the preacher because he didn’t yell and scream and tell me I was going to hell. He smiled the whole time he talked. Why can’t more of them be like that?”

Ray's Answer: We won’t yell and scream at you, but we will warn you that if you die in your sins, you will end up in Hell. You ending up in Hell doesn’t seem to worry your smiley preacher though.”
The imam at the local mosque won't yell or scream at you either, but he did not hesitate in the slightest informing everyone present that all who die without accepting Allah and the prophet Muhammad will end up in Hell.

To Ray and the imam, I say, “that which can be asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence.”

194. “No one is confident there is no God. There is just no evidence that proves there is a God.”

Ray's Answer: You should have said that you haven’t yet found proof that God exists. Otherwise you are claiming omniscience (having all knowledge) when you say that “no one is confident there is a God,” and only God has that.”
One does not need omniscience to know that squared-circles do not and cannot exist, because they are logically and philosophically self-contradictory.

In the same respects, one does not need omniscience to know that certain gods cannot exist. For example, it is common to hear Ray Comfort and many theists explain ‘God is outside of space and time.’ If he existed outside of time, he could not do anything before he did anything else, he could not do anything after he did anything. That means if God exists outside of time, he does not exist. He cannot do anything before and/or after what he is doing, then he cannot do anything. So we disprove God just based on his own definition.

Now does that mean there is no god? Not so, there could be a god who is not omniscient. Odin can be a real god in a far away realm called Asgard.

Remember that atheism means “lack of belief in god(s).” Basically, if you are not convinced there is a god, you are an atheist. It is possible to be an agnostic atheist, someone who does not think we can know certain things about gods all the while disregarding all belief in gods.

Are you convinced that there are no mermaids? 90% of the world's oceans are not explored, are you sure there are no mermaids? If you don't believe in mermaids, why is that? Simple, the lack of evidence for their existence is essentially good reason to reject the claim they exist. According to Ray's logic in his response, instead of saying you lack any belief in mermaids because they have not been proven to be real, should you therefor just say “I just haven't found any evidence for mermaids yet.” Maybe you could, but that comes to show that no evidence for their existence currently exist, but that does not mean that any evidence will ever appear in the future. Being opened to the notion that mermaids or gods may exist does not make them any more real.

195. “Science is about observation and testability. God fails terribly every time it comes to those standards.”

Ray's Answer: Darwinian evolution is unobservable and untestable. That’s why it is so faith based. We know God exists because of Nature/creation (observation), and He is testable because He reveals Himself to all who obey Him (see John 14:21).”
Evolution is observable.
Nature is proof of nature, it does not presume there is a creator.  The issue here is that there Comfort does not distinguished between naturally made objects versus artificially made objects, rather he seems to insert they are all the same thing. When we see a lot of sticks and logs blocking a stream, how do we differentiate that between a beaver dam and naturally cluttered logs? Ray Comfort offers no explanation and no model to differentiate a universe with or without a "creator." As far as science goes, a God who is responsible for the complex structure of the world, especially living things, fails to agree with empirical fact that this structure can be understood to arise from simple natural processes and shows none of the expected signs of design. Indeed, the universe looks as it should look in the absence of design.
Is God testable? The only evidence that Ray Comfort provides is that he “reveals” himself to those who obey. But it this evidence? Is all that it takes is for a deity to appear before you proof?
George Harrison, the guitarist for the Beatles was a Bhaki Hindu. He believed in a personal god, and he said that if one chants the mantras with devotionn, Lord Krishna would visibly appear and speak to him in an audible voice. Many pagans are similarly convinced of having met their deities too. For example, a cat fancier in Texas insists he began worshiping Bast only after the Egyptian goddess dramatically appeared physically manifest, having personally chosen him to become her disciple.
So we have numerous deities “revealing” themselves to humans, and we have no evidence that one is more real than the other. So are we to conclude that all of these “revelations” prove that all of these deities are real, or could they simply all be wrong?
It is impossible to figure out which of these claims is incorrect if the tool one uses to do so is faith. As a tool, as an epistemology, as a method of reasoning, as a process for knowing the world, faith cannot adjudicate between competing claims (“ Muhammad was the last prophet” versus “Joseph Smith was a prophet” who lived a century after Muhammad. One of these (or both) are false, this is an unassailable fact everyone, faithful or not, can agree upon). Faith cannot steer one away from falsehood and toward truth. This is because faith does not have a built-in corrective mechanism. That is, faith claims have no way to be corrected, altered, revised, or modified. The only way to figure out which claims about the world are likely true, and which are likely false, is through reason and evidence. There is no other way.
So what does the science and evidence say? How is it that all these people have these “revelations” and yet cannot agree on whether who, what, or how many god(s) are? The science suggests they all can be wrong. A number of investigations have shown that deep temporal lobe stimulation in the area around the amygdala and hippocampus of the limbic system produces feelings of intense meaningfulness, of depersonalization, of a connection with God, of cosmic connectedness, of out-of-body experiences, a feeling of not being in this world, déjà vu (a feeling that something has been experienced before), jamais vu (a feeling something is happening for the first time even though it has been experienced before), fear, and hallucinations. But Ray provides no model or method to distinguish between an actual divine experience with a natural experience in the brain. He does not provide any empirical proof that his own conversion is not the result of natural experiences that seem supernatural.

The science of where religious experiences come from go way back, and over the decades science has revealed a lot. Azry and coworkers in Switzerland reported that the stimulation of left temporal-parietal junction repeatedly produced a creepy feeling of the presence of another person in their extra-personal space, that somebody was close by. An epileptic focus in this area could contribute to the sensation of being close to a supernatural being.

In 1997, Vilayanur Ramachandram, director of the Center for Brain and Cognition at the University of California in San Diego, presented an intriguing paper at the Society for Neuroscience meeting. They were studying subjects with temporal lobe epilepsy and found that one of the effects of the seizures was to strengthen involuntary responses to religious words as tested by changes in galvanic skin response. One subject with TLE felt a rapturous “Oneness with the Creator” that carried over into the rest of his life. When asked if he believed in God, he replied, “But what else is there?” Other TLE patients had made statements such as, “I finally understand what it is all about. This moment I’ve been waiting for all my life. Suddenly it all makes sense.” “Finally, I have insight into the true nature of all the cosmos.”

The scientists suggested that the temporal lobes were naturally attuned to ideas about a supreme being. When thinking about why such a dedicated neural machinery would have evolved they speculated it may have been to encourage tribal loyalty or reinforce kinship ties or the stability of a closely knit clan. They noted that, “These studies do not in any way negate the validity of religious experiences or God, they merely provide an explanation in terms of brain regions that may be involved.” This report generated a lot of attention in the press and this portion of the brain was designated The God Module or the God Spot. Ramachandram felt that the left temporal lobe was the God Module. Craig Kinsely, from the University of Richmond in Virginia, commented, “There is a quandary of whether the mind created God or God created the mind.”

196. “God loves everyone, but I read in Romans 9, ‘Jacob I loved and Esau I hated.’ What do you make of that?”

Ray's Answer: Most interpret that as “hyperbole” (a justified exaggeration for contrast). However, when God “hates,” it is judicial and not sinful.”
Hate is hate, it's the same emotion that uses specific areas of the brain. So it logically follows that hate would be the exact same with any god as it would with a human, because in order to experience hate you must have the same neurological mechanisms that hate derives from.

197. “Does God love all the 20,000,000 people he killed in the Bible?”

Ray's Answer: The Bible says that God takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked. In the end it will be far more than a mere 20 million that God puts to death. All of us will die, because all of us have sinned (See Romans 6:23).”
This is another aspect that is inheritanly immoral about the Christian religion: the false tenet that all humans are wicked, simply for being human.

Read I Samuel 6, the ark of the Lord was being transported across country and five farmers of Bethshemesh “rejoiced to see it.” They opened the box and made a burnt offering to the Lord, and for this terrible sin God “smote the men of Bethshemesh, because they had looked into the ark of the Lord, even he smote of the people fifty thousand and threescore and ten men: and the people lamented, because the Lord had smitten many of the people with great slaughter.” Is it moral to kill 50,000 people for a petty offense? Is it moral to punish 50,000 people (who weren't even there or had any idea what was going on) for the crimes of 5 farmers? Is that justice? And exactly what was the crime? These men were trying to worship this very god, in their own way. Wouldn’t a God of mercy understand their innocent mistake? What if one of your children gave you a birthday card with the words “Daddy/Mommy, I luv you” and you punish them for spelling the word wrong? (By the way, is it reasonable to think there was a settlement of more then 50,000 at that time in history?)

But what if this leader has been in office all your life and you have been brought to think of him as morally perfect? Such a lawmaker would not make laws that were unjust. So this would create major cognitive dissonance. How would we respond? Perhaps we would fit some context into which it is of course right for someone who had done so much for this society to make some obsessionally arbitrary demands, or perhaps we would try to evade the problem that saying the leader's grasp of morality was so far ahead of ours that we could not understand them, that they worked in "mysterious ways." But we would be wrong, clearly the root of the problem is the root and false corrupting idea that the lawmaker is perfect. It is corrupt because it is causing us to accept unjust laws, it leaves us defending the undefendable. Remove this idea, and we can see the unjust laws for what they are. When we accept ideas uncritically, or make them sacred so we don't question them, this can distort our moral reasoning because we are them prone to make mistaken ideas ruling our attitudes and behavior outside our awareness. Those who swallow whole, or injected the idea, the lawmaker is perfect, cannot properly evaluate the law until this distorting idea is identified and removed. Removing uncritical ideas we swallowed whole is often the key in resolving certain problems we have in many areas of life.

When we see the traits attributed to the biblical deity Yahweh, clearly if it existed, it could not be better placed to meet our fair consistent justice. We are told it knows our thoughts, knows whose guilty or innocent, and is perfectly moral. So unlike human justice administrators, it would have no excuse for punishing anyone but the guilty, or for punishing them disproportionately. And yet according to the Bible, it permits, commits, and commands the vilest atrocities corresponding directly to the laws we just rejected above as unjust. It orders the killing of those working on the Sabbath, gay people, and women who show insufficient evidence of virginity on their wedding night. It kills 70,000 people when David takes a census at Yahweh's request, and kills almost all land animals by flooding for human wickedness. It hardens the heart of the pharaoh, the Egyptians, and the King of Heshbon through mind control to enable their defeat and destruction. It sends a powerful delusion to make certain people believe a lie just so they can be condemned. And it deceives prophets into giving false messages, then punishes them for doing so. Having stated that no child shall be killed for the sins of the father, it orders the killing of children for their father's sins, the killing of the Amalekite infants, the killing of children without pity, and at least three books in the Bible have Yahweh committing perhaps the most vilest atrocities we can think of; making parents eat their own children.

198. “Does God hate the wicked? Or does he just hate the wicked things they do?”

Ray's Answer: Scripture makes it clear that God has a judicial hatred for wicked men. (See Psalm 11:5) This is different than the sinful hatred you and I may have, because God is without sin.”
How is hate different? Hate is hate, and if hate is a sin, and God “hates” wicked men, then it logically follows that God is sinful.

199. “It was Christians that slaughtered millions of Native American Indians.”

Ray's Answer: Christians don’t slaughter anybody. Sinful man does in the name of God. He always has, and he always will. Saying that Christians killed millions of Indians is about as fair as saying atheists killed 110 million through atheistic Communism. The problem isn’t atheism or religion. It’s sinful men.”
Christians were indeed the ones who slaughtered millions of indigenous Americans.

Communism is an economical model, but it is not entirely “atheistic.” In fact, you can find Communism in the Bible, in the book of Acts, where Peter demands a village to accept communism, and the one couple who did not comply were killed.

200. “According to the book of Deuteronomy, the cost of keeping an unwed virgin which I have raped is 50 silver shekels. Is that correct?”

Ray's Answer: If you study the verses, you will see that the sex was consensual. We call it a shotgun wedding.”

Rape is not consensual, and neither is it the case in Deuteronomy 22.

Deuteronomy 22:28-29 “If a man meets a virgin who is not betrothed, and seizes her and lies with her, and they are found, then the man who lay with her shall give to the father of the young woman fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife, because he has violated her. He may not divorce her all his days."

It says "seizes her" and then has sex with her. In this case, the rapist seizes the woman and haves his way with her. That is not consent, that is rape.

201. “It would seem that the Baptists may actually lead the Catholics in child molestation convictions.”

Ray's Answer: The entire international Church is filled with false converts/hypocrites. Let’s hope the law exposes paedophiles before they get to the kids. Otherwise God will sort them out on Judgment Day.”
Even if our laws and police force expose and imprison every pedophile preacher, Ray's religion says every single one of them is eligible to bypass justice and have eternal life of bliss. Under the rules of Christianity, the pedophile who escapes justice here in this life can also escape the “ultimate justice” after death. Under the rules of Christianity, the pedophiles may live forever in paradise while anyone who spent their entire life doing good, helping others and contributing in a generally positive way to the one-and-only life we're sure to get, is ultimately judged unworthy of that reward, and instead punished and tortured for eternity.

There is no doubt about it: Christianity is in no way a cosmic sense of justice that alleviates the problem of punishing evil-doers. Christianity is a selfish justification that shows no regard for real matters of justice. This is the height of arrogance and your desire to feel special because "someone up there" thinks you're special.

The Christian religion is immoral that makes it's followers uncaring slaves to support immorality and injustice while claiming that arbitrary edicts and loopholes count as either. It is a reprehensible lie that poisons the mind and prevents you from understanding reality.

202. “Do you really believe in talking snakes and talking donkeys?”

Ray's Answer: Would you consider yourself to be a talking primate?”

Humans have the vocal cords and ability to speak and are primates by definition, whereas snakes and donkeys don't have vocal cords or larynx's. Only one side of this discussion is believable.

For all the same reasons why lions are cats and iguanas are lizards, humans are primates, particularly apes. That is a biological fact that is objectively verifiable and is beyond any reasonable doubt. What Ray Comfort has done, he has gone so far into intellectual suicide that he denies the very thing he is, an ape. He knows he's a mammal and a primate, but to write such falsehoods to his audience goes to show what a shameless and despicable liar he is.

203. “You also need to remember that blasphemy only counts if you believe. Many non deists do not recognize blasphemy since they have nothing to blaspheme against.”

Ray's Answer: That’s like saying, “Judge, you need to remember that rape only counts if you believe it is rape. I don’t recognize rape.” It is amazing that anyone who purports to be intelligent would think that something doesn’t exist just because he or she doesn’t believe in it. If I don’t believe in the sun because it’s cloudy, it doesn’t disappear just because of my lack of belief.”
It is amazing that anyone who purports to be intelligent would think that something doesn’t exist just because he or she doesn’t believe in it.”
Why should it exist if we don't believe it? If we follow Ray's logic, there may be a community of fairies that live in your mouth, even if you don't believe they don't. So why don't you believe there are fairies in your mouth? Because you can investigate it yourself and fin no trace whatsoever of fairies ever being in your mouth.
In the same respects, if we investigate and find no trace and no proof of there being a god, and thus have no reason to believe it, why should we believe it? Having no reason to believing something is damn good reason not to believe it.
Does merely non-belief make things any less real? You know what does make something real? EVIDENCE. If Ray Comfort is so determined to share that his god is real, where is the evidence?

204. “Is there any amount of evidence that could be provided to you that would make you not believe in the God of the Bible?”

Ray's Answer: Questions like this one show that atheists have no idea that Christians don’t merely believe that God exists. They know God.(See John 17:3) It’s like asking a newly married man, “Is there any evidence that I can give that would make you not believe that your wife exists?””
Christians don't “know” God anymore than a Viking knows Odin the Allfather. How can one "know" that which does not evidently exist? That's like a person claiming they know how long the horn of a unicorn is.

A husband can empirically prove his wife exists, but not once has Ray Comfort or anyone else he worked with ever provided proof that their god exists. That means that every time Ray Comfort says he "knows" that God exists, he is lying.

205. “How did we get our days of the week?”

Ray's Answer: They show up automatically just after midnight. Perhaps you need to reword the question.”

I cannot think of any other possible reason why Ray Comfort included this question in his book than it was meant to serve as filler to make his book look thicker. Honestly, this section is called "Answers to Complex Questions," and Ray Comfort expects us to believe that this question is "complex" that bites into the faith of the religious folk? Who does he think he's kidding?

206. “Keep up the good work, Ray! I myself can’t thank you for being the reason for my de-conversion, but I’m sure there is plenty out there who can.”

Ray's Answer: My life has been devoted to exposing the hypocrites in the Church, and, with the help of God, seeing them awakened to their delusional state. But there are still plenty of more false converts faking it and deceiving themselves. Let’s hope they admit that they don’t know the Lord, and repent and trust the Savior, before Judgment Day.”

Ray Comfort calls preachers motivated by money as hypocrites in the Church, and yet that is exactly what he is. He makes millions of dollars every year, he even gave a speech and earned $300,000 just for that.

207. “On TED it talks about the brain of a fly. Go look it up, it’s amazing. They compare the fly’s brain to a human brain. The fly’s brain is way more efficient than ours.”

Ray's Answer: Proof of that is that there are people who think it wasn’t the product of Intelligent Design.”
Acknowledging a fly's brain is more efficient than ours does not mean they think it was the product of an Intelligent Designer.

The Teleological argument [2], or Argument from Design, is a non sequitur. Complexity does not imply design and does not prove the existence of a god. Even if design could be established we cannot conclude anything about the nature of the designer (Aliens?). Furthermore, many biological systems have obvious defects consistent with the predictions of evolution by means of natural selection.

Scientists have already proven that evolution can and does give the impression of design. Current scientific theories are able to clearly explain how complexity and order arise in physical systems. Any lack of understanding does not immediately imply ‘god’.

208. “Religion destroys cognitive thinking and replaces it with blind trust in lies intended only to control people. If mankind is to avoid untimely extinction, it has to mature past being willfully ignorant. That, my friends, is a cause worth fighting for on any front you can.”

Ray's Answer: You sound like some doom’s day prophet, playing on people’s fears. You have a concern that humanity will become extinct? What about evolution? It will fix everything. Relax. It did it without you once, and it can do it without you, once again.”
The theory of evolution does not fix extinction. Once a species has gone extinct, they are gone. Once humanity is gone, it's game over.

Is there cause to worry that religion will wipe out humanity? There is.

Religious wars are still going on across the world, and they won't stop until one religion has world dominance. Imagine if ISIS had a nuclear bomb. Pres. Truman was a Christian, and yet he ordered the nuclear attacks on two civilian cities during World War II. Many violent Christian leaders of the past, such as medieval warlords, showed no restraint on killing their enemies with swords and axes, there is no reason to think they would have no problem cutting them down with a 50-caliber machine gun.

209. “I would start with Origin of Species and read the 1000+ books written on the topic since then. How many books prove God? Oh right, one.”

Ray's Answer: You will read another thousand and not find proof for evolution. The whole belief rests on faith. I read every page of Origin of Species and it was drier than a ten year-old peanut butter sandwich. The Bible doesn’t prove God. It doesn’t need to. We know that God exists because of the incredible order of Nature and our God-given conscience. It is simply the Instruction Book for those who know Him.”
Every single sentence in Ray's response is a lie and can shown to be a lie, except for one sentence, “The Bible doesn't prove God.” Let's go in order.

Can you find proof for evolution in the Origin of Species and thousands of books written on the topic since Darwin published his work? The answer is a solid Yes. The evidence for the fact of evolution is overwhelming, there is more prof for evolution than the Earth revolving around the sun. The evidence is so great that the only those who deny the fact of evolution are either stupid or ignorant. Modern creationists oppose evolution and cosmology the same way flat earthers reject the theory of geospericity, the same way geocentrists deny the theory of heliocentricity.

Evolution does not rest on faith, not in the slightest. The entire theory is based on facts and laws that are observed and tested, that is what scientific theories are about.

Has Ray Comfort read every page of the Origin of Species? Given his severe lack of understanding that evolution is about adaptation, it comes to show that he has not even gotten past the very first page! That's right, the first page in the Origin of Species gives a brief description of how living organisms may change over generations, and yet Ray Comfort preaches the lie that adaptation has nothing to do with Darwin's theory of evolution.

Ray Comfort has been explained virtually daily on what evolution is, how it works, and what evidence supports it, and yet Ray Comfort makes up lies like when he went on the 700 Club with televangelist Pat Robertson and said evolution says “a dog sat around blind for millions of years until it grew eyes.” And apparently this dog had no female for millions of years. Ray Comfort knows this is a lie, and he knows he cannot discredit the theory of evolution in any honest way, so he has to create and demolish a series of straw man arguments to appear to be the victor.

Does the Bible not prove there is a God? Yes. This is the only thing Ray got right so far. For the same reasons why the Bhagavad Gita does not prove there is a Krishna, the Bible does not prove there is a God.

Does the Book that claim certain things are “the absolute truth” need to prove it? Yes! Without meeting the burden of proof, all they can ask for is you to believe it.

Does Nature and our conscience prove a god? No.

Is the Bible an instruction book for those who “know him”? The answer is twofold: the Bible is an instruction book, but nobody “knows” that which does not evidently exist.

210. “God forces victims to marry their rapists.”

Ray's Answer: Not so. The sex in the commonly cited verse, is consensual (Deuteronomy 22:28–29). Nowadays we call it a shotgun wedding. The previous verse will tell you that God gives the death sentence to rapists. That’s how much He cares about the victim.”
Shotgun weddings are people who give consent.

Deuteronomy 22:28-29 is not about consent, it's about rape. Rape is not consent.

211. “Why does God tell people to own slaves?”

Ray's Answer: If a Hebrew was in debt he could work off that debt by being a “bond-servant” or “slave.” We put negative connotations on the word “slave” because Americans kidnapped Africans, sold them as bond-servants and treated them with great cruelty. God prescribed the death sentence for kidnapping.”
If a Hebrew was in debt he could work it off.... that is not what the Bible says. You can fool your Hebrew slave to serve you forever and be based on to the next generation like the slave was property.

Whereas the Bible says any NON-Hebrew slave, that is a slave taken from any foreign land, can be kept as a slave forever! They were not "bond-servants" working off debts... these were slaves. Period. No different from the slaves that were taken to work in America.

212. “God told Abraham to sacrifice his son to prove his love.”

Ray's Answer: God told Abraham to “offer” Isaac, and when he was about to kill him, God stopped him (see Genesis 22). This is a Bible “image”—of God sending His “only begotten Son” to suffer for the sin of the world. Any dirt we try and throw at God will always come back down on us, because He is without sin.”
Changing the word does not change the action. Whether you want to call Abraham's action a “sacrifice” or a “offer” does not make the action any less immoral or irrational any more than saying an executioner “beheaded” a criminal or “showed him mercy.”

213. “The First Commandment says, ‘You shall have no other gods before Me’—that proves He isn’t the only God!”

Ray's Answer: There are millions of false gods (Hinduism has hundreds of millions). Man gravitates towards idols (which he makes with his hands or with his mind), because they don’t demand moral accountability.”
Ray's God doesn't demand moral accountability. All his book says about the god-character is that all men can be saved if they just “believe.” It does not matter how moral or immoral a person is, they can be saved and escape justice simply by believing.

214. “Which one’s a bigger fool Ray? The person who rationalizes and decides to do things for himself like ask questions, critically analyze things, do research and use scientific methods in order to figure out things in life or the person who blindly listens to every word of a 2000 year old shepherd’s journal written in the bronze age of a superstitious era by a collaboration of sheep herders that claims to have all the answers to every possible question imaginable which in fact had been interpreted and translated throughout several generations until it ended up in the hands of a mad king who re-wrote it and intentionally left out information and altered it in a way that he saw fit?” (quoted verbatim)

Ray's Answer: You have to learn to use the period. I needed paramedics by the time I finished reading your 114-word sentence.”
If you need paramedics to simply read long sentences, it must be impossible for you to read a simple science article.

Athesim:

This book must have been made in a hurry for quick money or was made so sloppy that they could not check and edit a misspelled word like “athesim.”

There are several dozen cheap-shot rhetorics against atheism, evolution

Extra Words of Comfort

Firestorm

Who would have believed that a storm or a fire could be good for a forest; but they are. The trauma of a storm shakes the trees causing them to send their roots deeper into the soil. A fast-moving fire in a pine forest burns up unwanted dead vegetation as well as opening tightly sealed cones, so that the seeds may be released and take root. So, life’s normally frightening storms cause the Christian to grow in maturity, sending him closer to God and deep into His Word. The fiery trials help us to overcome our fears and open our lips to release the precious life-giving seed of the gospel into a dying world.

The same can be said about a Muslim, particularly one growing up in a Western country, facing indifference, hostility and violence simply because they are Muslim. They don't even have to be Muslim, such as after 9/11 a man shot and killed a man working at a gas station because "he looked Muslim." The man he killed had a beard and wore a turban, he was a Sikh, a man of a different religion who had no ties whatsoever to the 9/11 terrorists. Imagine being the family of that man, having to live in fear and grief. Then imagine how hard life must be for actual Muslims in certain areas throughout Western countries.

If we applied Ray Comfort's "Firestorm" logic to a struggling Muslim, then that should "send him closer to God and into His Word." That's fine and dandy, but it misses a crucial point. These struggles don't send people closer to a god, they send them into deeper conviction in believing there is a god. Having a deeper conviction of God and studying sacred texts more and more does not change reality and make that which does not evidently exist any more real. In comparison, a struggled Big Foot hunter may deepen their belief that there is a Big Foot, but their beliefs don't make things real.

Scientific Breakthrough

Scientists recently called a news conference and announced a huge scientific breakthrough. They have designed a machine that turns grass-cuttings into milk. A spokesperson said the brilliantly made machine grinds the grass through rows of metal “teeth,” and then sends it to a total of four different compartmental containers that contain chemicals that turn the green liquid substance into white milk. He also said that the machine could be broken down at any time and used for clothing and food. He then smiled and said the obvious. The announcement was a joke, because scientists didn’t have a clue how to make grass from nothing that would turn into milk, then cream, cheese, butter, yoghurt and ice cream, let alone a machine that could do what the cow does as well as provide leather and meat for human consumption. Some non-thinkers believe that the cow had no Designer. They believe that it was merely the result of nothing causing rocks that came from nowhere to explode for no reason. Then the scientifically impossible happened—non-life produced life. Sure.
"Some non-thinkers believe that the cow had no Designer"... that's because there is no evidence of there being a Designer. To dismiss that which does not evidently exist as "non-thinking" is like saying anyone who does not believe that cows come from Mars as a "non-thinker." We know for a fact that cows are not from any other planet than Earth, and we know for a fact they are not "designed" and are in fact a product of evolution.

All the complexity of the universe, all its apparent richness, even life itself, arises from simple, mindless rules repeated over and over again for billions of years.

Genesis: The Scientific Quest for Life's Origins by Robert M. Hazen, Ph.D

Hawk-eye

When a hawk is around, other birds hide for fear of their lives leaving an eerie silence in the trees. They instinctively know their enemy. It seems that a bird brain works better a human brain, because most human beings don’t see death as their “enemy.” They think that it’s just part of life. But around death, the ungodly have an eerie silence. They are defeated by it. They roll over and die. The Bible speaks of death as an enemy, saying that Jesus Christ has “abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.” Of course, many don’t believe that, and that’s their problem. They refuse to trust the Word of God, and yet trust is the basis for any relationship, both horizontal and vertical.

The Bible may speak of death as an "enemy" all the while it talks about seven-headed dragons or men with tongues of fire. It is easily to personify natural events. Humans do it all the time, the Greeks turned thunder and lightning into a person, a mighty god named Zeus. Humans personalize things like famine and pestilence, turn them into humans on horses that trample through the land, bringing suffering and despair. Even the Jews personalized their god. They turned the wind, thunder and volcano into a single being who can "smell" the burnt flesh of offerings on an altar and "stretch forth his hand" across the land. The point is, all these things (death, wind, thunder, famine, pestilence, volcanoes, etc) are all natural events. Death is natural.

On a final note, why trust the contents of a ancient book of fables that are wrong about damn near everything? That is a misguided trust, and it's quite delusional. Trust may be the basis for "relationships" but in a relationship you can at least empirically prove that your partner exists and is real. The same cannot be said for the god-character mentioned all the time in the Bible. When all is said and done, he is as fictional as Zeus. When we see or hear of people who have a relationship with fictional characters, like a Texas man who believes he is the prophet of the Egyptian cat-god Bast, we look at them as delusional (and rightfully so).

How to Get Light

After I commented “God knows those that love Him,” an atheist replied: “Thanks, Ray, that’s a relief, because sometimes it sure seems complicated.” The whole issue is going to seem a mess until each of us experience genuine conversion. When the Apostle Paul wrote to the Christians at Ephesus, he said, “This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart; who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness with greediness” (Ephesians 4:17–18). Until we come to Christ our understanding is darkened, we are ignorant, blind, and given to the pleasures of sin, held captive to unlawful passions. With this thought in mind, read this verse from John 8:31–32 through three or four times: “Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If you continue in my word, then are you my disciples indeed; And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

In other words, keep telling yourself it's real until you believe it.

Isn't it also quite typical, this religious pitching. It's practically taken straight from the handbook of con-men. It basically says "if you want to be like us, don't be like you were before, not like those around you because they've got it all wrong, but I got it right" and "buy my invisible product, for it is true, and truth will set you free." You can use this same exact mentality on anyone to convince them to become Hindus. Seriously, just take the verses Ray Comfort picked, and replace the words "God" and "Jesus" with "Krishna," and it will be just the same.

That being said, even with the words replaced, it will still be the same religious pitching. But there is something seriously lacking: the evidence. The Bible is the claim, so where is the evidence? Where is the evidence for this supposed "god creator"?

Fool’s Paradise

A professing Christian who denies the reality of Hell is like an airline worker who tells passengers they don’t need a parachute, because gravity doesn’t exist. He gives them a friendly pat on the back as each one jumps to their death. Charles Spurgeon, the Prince of Preachers, put it this way: “Ho, ho, sir surgeon, you are too delicate to tell the man that he is ill! You hope to heal the sick without their knowing it. You therefore flatter them; and what happens? They laugh at you; they dance upon their own graves. At last they die! Your delicacy is cruelty; your flatteries are poisons; you are a murderer. Shall we keep men in a fool’s paradise? Shall we lull them into soft slumbers from which they will awake in Hell? Are we to become helpers of their damnation by our smooth speeches? In the name of God we will not.”

Anyone who denies the reality of Valhalla is like an airline worker who tells passengers they don’t need a parachute, because gravity doesn’t exist. See I can do it too.

What makes Hell any more real than Valhalla? Nothing. They both severely lacking any evidence of being real. All Ray Comfort has done to make his case for there being a Hell as if it's a real place, he literally relies on the power of pretend. All he has done is expressed his convinced belief that there is a Hell without providing any empirical proof of such a place. He never bother's to meet the burden of proof, all he does it say "I say it's real, it's real, it's real, and you will go there if you don't listen to me." Sorry, you can express your convictions that a fictional place is real all damn day, but until actual proof is presented then you are wasting our time.

Proving God

Skeptics mock the thought that the existence of God can be proved scientifically. But the word “science” simply means “knowledge.” Creation (Nature) gives us knowledge that there’s a Creator (a Maker). It is scientifically impossible for Nature to have made itself. To say that it did, is to say that it was pre-existent to be able to make itself, before it made itself, which is ludicrous. So each of us has an intuitive knowledge that God exists, and because of our conscience (“con” is “with” and “science” is “knowledge”) we are “with knowledge” that we are morally responsible to Him. The building gives us knowledge there was a builder. The painting gives us knowledge there was a painter.
Science is about gaining knowledge through testing, studying and verifying the facts that correspond with reality. Ray Comfort is using word games to make it seem that science means knowledge and therefore we all have some inner knowledge that God exists because Ray says it's impossible for the universe to form naturally on it's own.

Too bad for Ray, but we already know the universe is fully capable of forming on it's own without the assistance of a deity.

So can the universe come from nothing? Formation of the universe from nothing need not violate conservation of energy. The gravitational potential energy of a gravitational field is a negative energy. When all the gravitational potential energy is added to all the other energy in the universe, it might sum to zero (Guth, Alan H., 1997. The Inflationary Universe).

Buildings may be proof of a builder, but Ray misses the obvious that we can verify that the building had a builder by asking for record permits, the blueprints, the architects contact info and drafts, the construction crew, find where the building materials came from, and so on. But comparing a building to the universe is a false comparison.

Of course, buildings and paintings are inorganic (non-living) and so are great mountains, vast oceans, and the massive clouds—“The heavens declare His glory.” However, the existence of living forms (including ourselves) gives us even more light into the genius of God’s creative hand—that we are “fearfully and wonderfully made,” so that we are without excuse. No one needs faith to know that God exists. All we need are eyes that can see and a brain that works. However, if we want to approach Him, then we must have trust, for without an implicit trust it is impossible to please Him (see Hebrews 11:6).

Faith is the only thing people have when it comes to belief in a god. Look at Hebrews 11:1 - "Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see." We are expected to see what is not there. Not only that, we are blessed if we make ourselves see what cannot be seen. This is not a reasonable request. The mountains, oceans, clouds, and everything else is not evidence for any particular god. Every religion ever made makes an account for the existence of everything, all of which credit them to their god(s). Ray Comfort, as already pointed out many times, has never once demonstrated that we live in a creation, nor has he presented any proof of any creator, and yet he makes bold claims about his god in a matter-of-fact tone. The truth is he does not know if there is a god, he rests that entirely on faith, and proclaims to know things he cannot know. That is what faith is, pretending to know things you do not know.

And one more thing, we are not "wonderfully made," there is a valid argument against the existence of a god based on how poorly we are if we were made by a designer, it's called the Argument from poor design.

Shutting off the Main

An atheist is like a man who shuts off the main before he walks into an electrical store, and mocks the fact that the appliances don’t work. Remove the supernatural from the Bible and nothing makes sense, because you have removed the power of God. Leave Him in the equation and animals fit comfortably onto the ark, the Red Sea opens no problem, the 5,000 get well fed, and water gets walked upon.
In other words: Magic.

Magic makes the laws of physics pointless. Magic makes millions of animals fit into a wooden box. Magic negates the tide and the gravity of the moon. Magic fills people's stomachs. Magic overrules the laws of chemistry. Magic makes reality not real.

Ray Comfort is literally asking us to believe in magic, the very thing children believe in. Not much surprising since Ray Comfort thinks witches are real. But once you start believing in magic, you open a who can of worms, because at that point, who is to say that all the magic recorded in any other sacred text is real and the Bible is wrong?

Fifty years after the Persian Wars ended in 479 BCE Herodotus the Halicarnassian asked numerous eyewitnesses and their children about the things that happened in those years and then wrote a book about it. Though he often shows a critical and skeptical mind, sometimes naming his sources or even questioning their reliability when he has suspicious or conflicting accounts, he nevertheless reports without a hint of doubt that the temple of Delphi magically defended itself with animated armaments, lightning bolts, and collapsing cliffs; the sacred olive tree of Athens, though burned by the Persians, grew an arm's length in a single day; a miraculous flood-tide wiped out an entire Persian contingent after they desecrated an image of Poseidon; a horse gave birth to a rabbit; and a whole town witnesses a mass resurrection of cooked fish! Of course, as historians all agree, none of this could have happened. But hey people, just use Ray Comfort's lame excuse and just believe in magic!!!

But for the adults in the room, we know better that magic is not real. Talismans, incantations, elemental component spells, enchantments, clairvoyance and prophesies all consistently fail every test.

To confirm this, James “the Amazing” Randi, a former Las Vegas illusionist well-versed in the angles used in supernatural pseudoscience -has for ten years- offered a million-dollar prize for anyone who can show testable evidence of the things we should expect would also be true if there were ethereal entities influencing things with molecular structures. In that time, he has exposed a few frauds. But to date, no one has ever produced any actual evidence for faith-healing, telepaths, psionics, precognative psychic friends with astral bodies, past life remembrance, or spectral manifestations of any kind.

Carrying a Gun

Jesus would never have carried a gun. A Christian with a gun is a fake Christian.”

I don’t carry a gun, but I wouldn’t condemn someone who wanted to protect his family from an armed intruder. Neither should you. There are millions of fake Christians who don’t carry guns. Love is the criteria, not whether or not someone carries a gun. One other thing. If you were in a public place and some nut was shooting children, would you be pleased to see a Christian take him out? Or would you be happy to let him continue killing kids? I’m sure you would want the murderer to be stopped. Jesus is not the person you make Him out to be. The Bible says that He’s coming in flaming fire to bring vengeance on the disobedient. He doesn’t need a gun to deal with evil.

But the NT authors say that Jesus said, "But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them--bring them here and kill them in front of me" according to Luke 19:27.

Let me ask my readers, if you saw a cult leader demanding that his followers round up his enemies and having them being slaughtered, would you "be happy to let him continue killing" as Ray asked about a gun-nut?

The Beatles

Lennon and McCartney met in the church because it was a convenient and quiet place to meet. Period. Lennon was an avowed atheist. Just listen to the lyrics of the brilliant ‘Imagine’. He specifically weaves the sentence ‘and no religion too’ into this musical masterpiece. George was so Christian that he was Hindu.”

You sure need to read, The Beatles, God, and the Bible. In 1964/65 Paul McCartney, when asked if they believed in God, said that none of them did. But as each of The Beatles began to mature in their thinking, each one became spiritual. Lennon said that “Imagine” was a prayer (see his Playboy Interview—Google it). His said “imagine” was a prayer that people stop fighting over who had the right God, over countries, over possessions, etc. He said he wasn’t saying that there’s no Heaven. Just the opposite. If I said to you, “Imagine there’s no New York,” I’m saying let’s imagine (pretend) New York doesn’t exist. Imagining it doesn’t exist is an admittance that it does. George said his whole life was a search for God.

In February 1965, the band gave an interview to Playboy magazine, in which they defended themselves against claims that they were anti-religious, while at the same time emphatically declaring themselves to be agnostic.
McCartney: "We probably seem antireligious because of the fact that none of us believe in God."
Lennon: "If you say you don't believe in God, everybody assumes you're antireligious, and you probably think that's what we mean by that. We're not quite sure 'what' we are, but I know that we're more agnostic than atheistic." Playboy: "Are you speaking for the group, or just for yourself?" Lennon: "For the group." Harrison: "John's our official religious spokesman." McCartney: "We all feel roughly the same. We're all agnostics." Lennon: "Most people are, anyway."
As for George Harrison, the guitarist for the Beatles, he became a Bhaki Hindu. He believed in a personal god, and he said that if one chants the mantras with devotion, Lord Krishna would visibly appear and speak to him in an audible voice.

So Lord Krishna must be real because he made a personal visitation to Harrison. Well Ray, I guess you just won't know about Lord Krishna until you "humble yourself" "seek him out" and "say a prayer." Sound familiar? If it doesn't, it's the same exact excuse Ray gives on why people can't find his god.

Get Your Brain Working

Did you know that an estimated six million people in the United States have an unruptured brain aneurysm—that’s one in every 50 people? If a blood vessel suddenly explodes in your brain, you won’t even be able to think “God help me!” So get your brain into action today (while it is working), and make peace with the God you have so greatly offended.

If there is a God who created our brain that he designed to randomly "go off" with a blood vessel suddenly bursting, then he has offended us. He designed it, and yet he blames us for his failure? How dare he? Does a painter blame the painting for not appearing as he wanted? No. If there is a God who designed our brains, the only one who should be apologizing for making it imperfect is the creator.

How to Witness to Homosexuals

Homosexuality is a hot issue. Open your mouth against it nowadays, no matter how casually or even lovingly, and you will almost certainly be accused of using “hate speech.” There is, however, a way around this for the Christian.

First of all, I CALL BULLSHIT!!!

I call bullshit that Ray Comfort thinks he is being "lovingly" towards homosexuals in particular. This coming from the guy who told his twitter followers to support Bradlee Dean. For those who don't know who Bradlee Dean is or why this is significant (and horrid), please watch this video:

When I meet a homosexual, I never talk about his sexual orientation. This is because I care about him and want to share the gospel, and I don’t want him to be offended before I do that. So I witness to him the way I witness to any heterosexual. I ask if he thinks he’s a good person. When he predictably says that he is, I take him through the Ten Commandments—has he lied, stolen, and blasphemed God’s name? When I ask about lust (see Matthew 5:27–28), I don’t mention gender. After seeing his transgressions in the light of God’s Law he will understand his guilt—and that he’s headed for Hell and desperately in need of the Savior. Before he saw his sin, he was proud and selfrighteous, but now he’s humble of heart. That means he is able to be reasoned with, without being defensive. So I tell him that to be saved he must repent of all sin and trust alone in Jesus. I then show him what “sin” is, by referring to 1 Corinthians 6:9–10 (which lists those who will not enter the Kingdom of Heaven): “Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.” I gently tell him that if he has a problem with the list, he should take it up with God, because it’s His list.

Is it biblical to use the moral Law (the Ten Commandments) when speaking with homosexuals? It certainly is: “But we know that the law is good if one uses it lawfully, knowing this: that the law is not made for a righteous person, but for…fornicators, for sodomites, for kidnappers, for liars, for perjurers, and if there is any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine” (1Timothy 1:8–10).

Again, I CALL BULLSHIT!!!

Fear Tactics

When I recently said that one in 50 people have an aneurism that’s waiting to burst, a number of atheists accused me of using fear tactics to manipulate weak people. One posted two or three times protesting. When asked by a Christian if she was afraid of dying, she was quick to respond: “I fear the potential of pain during the process of death as is only natural but death itself is not scary. I won’t be there to care about it…I cannot be afraid of nothing.” But I have it from a trustworthy Source that she was lying. Strong words, but true. She was lying through her terrified teeth. The Bible says that all of humanity are “all of their lifetime” haunted by the fear of death (see Hebrew 2:14–15). Some drown their terror in alcohol or drugs. Some busy themselves so that they don’t think about it, and the proud play the bravado card.
Again, I have to call bullshit on Ray's "trustworthy Source" because his Source is the antithesis of trustworthiness.

Not only is his source wrong about damn near everything, it's especially wrong here for it cannot know the inner feelings of all humans, such as those who don't fear death.

Bear in mind, that this is the same source that claims to know that all humans have broken a made-up law and thus their made-up souls are going to a made-up realm of torture.

And final note, I CALL BULLSHIT, because Ray Comfort contradicts himself. He wrote a book in 2011, the "Defenders Guide for Life's Toughest Questions" and on page 108, he answered a question from a non-Christian of whether or not he was afraid of death or not. Ray Comfort answered he was afraid of the process of dying, but not afraid of death itself. That contradicts what Ray Comfort just said in this book. So in conclusion, Ray Comfort is lying.
Belief in Fossils

An atheist recently wrote “When are you coming to see the fossils with me, Ray?” It seems that he thought that I didn’t believe in fossils. How could I not? There are millions of fossils in museums all over the world. I have even seen thousands of fossils in the “Evolution” museum in Paris. I took a camera crew there a few years ago to look for the evidence for evolution, but they didn’t even have an evolution display. All they had was a stuffed monkey in a back area, with “Lucy” written on it. I did the same thing with the Smithsonian in Washington DC. All they had was a family of hairy manikins, squatting around a fire. Every other display was simply examples of God’s creation.

Of course I believe in fossils, but I don’t believe in the unobservable bogus science called “evolution,” of which there is no empirical evidence. Anything that is said to be evidence always necessitates faith. I don’t believe because I’m a skeptic when it comes to evolution.

Deniers are not skeptics, there is a fundamental difference. Skepticism is all about critical examination, evidence-based scientific inquiry, and the use of reason in examining controversial claims. Those who flatly deny the facts of evolution do not partake in any of the above. They base their conclusions on a priori convictions. Theirs is an ideological conviction—the opposite of skepticism—and that is exactly what Ray Comfort does (go read my response to Question 71 and pay attention to where Aron Ra asks Ray what he would look for to find a transitional fossil, to which Ray says he wouldn't bother because Ray "knows" (lie) that he is made "in the image of god.")

So when Ray Comfort says he does not reject the existence of fossils, but for some reason when he goes to Museums "all over the world" to see the evolution of humans, all he could see were the manikins??? I guess if we followed Ray's logic, whenever a museum shows a robot replica dinosaur must mean the fossils the dinosaur is based on must not mean anything and the dinosaurs are "made-up."

Whenever you go into a museum and examine the evolution of animals, particularly humans, they show a series of fossils that demonstrate how our ancestors evolved into humans. How do you miss those?

I guess Ray Comfort's museum experience must have been like Megan Fox... she literally said all the missing links are "missing" then walked right by all the series of transitional fossils and said "tsh." (skip to 27:56 of this video)

Now regarding Ray Comfort, who apparently saw the stuffed dummy of Lucy, Australopithecus afarensis, and may have seen the fossils for Lucy, but for some reason does not understand why Australopithecus afarensis is a key transitional fossil in human evolution.

Evolutionary theory required that another extinct hominid be found in strata chronologically between the Miocene Dryopithecus fontana and the earliest known human species, which from 1891 to 1961, was Homo erectus. We’ve found lots of candidates, as many as fifty species of apes which are now all extinct. But more than that, the theory also demanded that we find one “half-way” between humans and other apes in terms of morphology. We found exactly that too way back in 1974. Australopithecus afarensis proved to be a fully bi-pedal ape who’s...

...hands

...feet, pelvis

...teeth

...skull

and other physical details were exactly what creationists challenged us to find, and yet they’re still pretending we never found it.

And it get's even worse for those who deny human evolution. Even if we did not have a single transitional fossil (which we have so many of, the human evolution chain is complete), the sheer fact that genetics show that we share a common ancestry with other apes is a killing blow to all hopes and arguments for Creationism.

Sorry Ray Comfort, but the evidence is too grand and too clear that evolution is a fact and humans evolved, and you are by no means a skeptic, you are just a denier.

Heaven’s Existence

When Christians get to their mythological Heaven, what will they do? Worship their God for billions and billions of years?”

I will do my best to try and explain the unexplainable. Let’s imagine that I am there just before the six days of creation, and God says to me, “Try and imagine what I’m about to do?” I would have a problem, because I have nothing upon which to base my imaginations. I couldn’t imagine that He was about to create 1.4 million different kinds of animals, birds, fish and insects. I wouldn’t ponder the tall patch-worked yellow and black six-foot-necked giraffe, the massive floppy-eared elephant, the striped zebra, cute kittens, adorable dogs, roaring lions, growling tigers, and a mass of other amazing animals, all with male and female, and with the ability to bring forth after their own kind.

I couldn’t think of massive snow-capped mountains, deep blue seas teeming with colorful fish of all sorts of shapes and sizes. Neither could I imagine, skiing, surfing, fishing, tasty food, the pleasures of the marital bed, and a thousand and one other delicacies of life.

Heaven isn’t what the world imagines it to be. Those who enter won’t be sitting on a cloud playing a rusty harp for eternity. God’s kingdom is coming to this earth and His will, will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Heaven is coming to this earth. No more earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, disease, pain and death. The Bible says that this everlasting kingdom is beyond the human imagination. So think of the greatest most pleasurable thing on earth, and then whisper to yourself that is nothing more than the dregs of the bottom of a filthy trash bin, compared to what God has in store for those who love Him.

I will do my best to try and explain the unexplainable. Let’s imagine that I am there just before the creation of the world, and Odin says to me, “Try and imagine what I’m about to do?” I would have a problem, because I have nothing upon which to base my imaginations. I couldn’t imagine that He was about to create the trees, the animals, the Grand Canyon, the clouds, the stars, the Aurora lights, the vast oceans, the Moon and planets, and so on.

Asgard isn’t what the world imagines it to be. It will be an amazing place. No more earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, disease, pain and death. That's right, in Valhalla, no one will die. The warriors may kill each other during combat practice, but they will all not taste death and will come back to life in the Great Hall. The sagas say that this everlasting kingdom of Asgard is beyond the human imagination. So think of the greatest most pleasurable thing on earth, and then whisper to yourself that is nothing more than the dregs of the bottom of a filthy trash bin, compared to what the gods have in store for those who love the Aesir.
...
See, I can do it too. I can pitch an invisible product without having to provide an inkling of proof that what I am talking about is even real.

My Father

My father used to hit me. He would daily leave my mother to raise us kids, and I once saw him kill a helpless animal with his bare hands. With that information you could understandably come to the conclusion that my father was a tyrant. But listen to some missing information. If I ever lied or stole, my dad cared enough to correct me on the seat of my learning, and for that I greatly respected him and stayed on the straight and narrow. The reason he left my mom each day was to work hard as a carpenter and provide food for our table. And that animal he killed... It was a large bird that had been struck by a car and had been left to die on the side of the road. He put the poor animal out of its misery, and it grieved him to do so. With that knowledge you can now see that my dad wasn’t a tyrant. He was a loving and kind father.

Richard Dawkins believes that God is more than just a tyrant. He said, “The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully.”

But there’s some missing information he’s not giving you that changes everything…for those who will listen.

This same morally perfect and holy Creator (whose seeming harsh judgments were always “righteous and true altogether”) became a morally perfect human being. He did this to save us from the same just wrath that spilled upon the wicked nations of the Old Testament. Most of us know that Jesus of Nazareth gave His life as a sacrifice for the sin of the world. What they don’t know is that we violated God’s Law (the Ten Commandments) and justly deserve the wrath of the moral Law, but Jesus paid our fine in full. That means that God can legally dismiss our case. He can commute our death sentence and let us live forever, because our fine was paid by Another who then rose from the dead. The same holy God who considers lust to be adultery and hatred to be murder, made provision for His great love and mercy to be extended towards those who repent and trust in the Savior. For the Christian, the cross of Jesus Christ shows that God isn’t the wicked tyrant that foolish and ignorant men make Him out to be. It is the missing information that changes everything.

As I already went over in this review, every time Ray Comfort mentions his God-character being "morally perfect," remind yourselves that this is the same God who thought slavery and human sacrifice was okay and commanded the genocide of entire societies.

Ray Comfort believes this God became a "morally perfect" human by the name of Jesus, but what would be nice is some actual historical evidence of this Jesus existing in the first place. On top of that, if this Jesus was morally perfect, why did he have his disciples steal a donkey according to Luke 19 (They didn't ask or tell the owner, they didn't leave any money, nor promised to return the animal. It was theft.)

"Most of us know that Jesus of Nazareth gave His life" first of all, no we don't. Many people have heard of the story, but nobody knows that this Jesus, if he existed, gave his life. All that we have on this Jesus are stories written by decades after the supposed death of Jesus by anonymous writers who never met Jesus. History cannot verify what we know about Jesus, only what has been said about this character. For all we know, the Romans killed a look-alike disciple and Jesus went into hiding for three days and then revealed himself declaring "I'm not dead."

Which Religion?

I come from Israel. I live in society with three different religions, Judaism, Christianity and Islam…when I talk with any member of any religion, he says he’s convinced that HIS religion is the right one, and the other two are wrong (atheists know that ALL three are wrong, but it’s not the point).” Rabì Francis Hume

All the great religions (except Christianity) have one thing in common. They believe that in order to gain everlasting life they have to do sacrificial “good works” such as fasting, praying, good deeds, facing a certain way to pray, repentance for sin, etc. However, there’s a big problem with such sacrifices. Jesus expounded the Ten Commandments to include lust, hatred, and anger without cause. He said that if we as much as look with lust, we commit adultery in our hearts (Matthew 5:27–28). As Judge of the earth, God requires moral perfection, and in His eyes we are all desperate criminals that have been condemned to death. So any good works we offer God as Judge aren’t seen by Him as “good works,” but are attempts to bribe Him to forgive our sins, and the Bible says that God will not be bribed: “The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord.”

We know for a fact that two of the main rivals of earliest Christianity was between Paul's Christianity and Peter's Christianity. Peter's Jewish-leaning Christianity in Jerusalem who valued Mosaic Law and works, and Paul's Gentile ministry that stressed faith overall and broke away from Jewish law.

However, this same holy God is rich in mercy, and He in His great kindness made a way for us to be forgiven by providing His own sacrifice. This was the hidden meaning of Abraham offering his “only begotten son,” as a sacrifice. The Old Testament is full of these veiled “types,” pointing forward to when God would provide the perfect sacrificial Lamb.

But this God who is "rich in mercy" did not offer this perfect sacrificial lamb the moment after Adam and Eve sinned??? This is the same omniscient God with the grand Plan to save humanity that he created in his own image from the rules that he created, but yet it took him several thousands of years to come up with the idea to save humanity by sacrificing himself?

Nope, instead this rich-in-mercy-god had to commit global genocide, kill and curse innocent people, make parents eat their own children, for thousands of years until he got the bright idea to kill his own son.

When the innocent Lamb of God was sacrificed on the cross, He was doing what none of us could do for ourselves. He was offering a perfect sacrifice that would satisfy the wrath of a morally perfect God against our sin. He was paying our fine so that we could walk out of the courtroom. The suffering death and resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth meant that God could legally dismiss our case. He could commute our death sentence and let us live, because our fine was paid by Another.
Again, eternal life cannot be gained by any amount of religious works because it is an attempt to bribe the Judge. It can only come by the unmerited favor of God, and the Bible says that He is rich in mercy to all that call upon His name. He freely offers everlasting life to humanity as a gift. This is the ultimate good news for Islam, Judaism, Catholicism, Mormonism and all other religious folks who are trying in vain to earn everlasting life by their own sacrificial works. They simply have to repent and trust alone in the Savior, and in doing so God will grant what is called “imputed righteousness.” He will give them a right standing with Himself, and extend His gracious of hand of mercy. The Bible says “whosoever” calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Whoever calls upon God will be saved, and good or bad works do not matter.... great, Adolf Hitler is in Heaven whereas 6,000,000 Jews burn in Hell.

Under the rules of Christianity, the pedophile/rapist/murderer who escapes justice here can also escape your ultimate justice. Under the rules of Christianity, he may live forever in paradise while someone who spent their entire life doing good, helping others and contributing in a generally positive way to the one-and-only life we're sure to get, is ultimately judged unworthy of that reward and is charged to be sent to the worst torture chamber beyond all imagination forever.

Well, according to the paradigm you advocate, he thinks that anyone willing to worship him is special - with no regard for justice or character.
